Very surely for future the bitcoin will replace fiat because many people or fiat user go change to bitcoin because bitcoin is easy to transact and have many features and benifits you can get. I see the future if fiat is slowly getting down.
No it will not go down bitcoin is still not mature to rise against fiat currencies around the world, for now bitcoin is good for short investments Where do you live ? I mean the most of country still use their fiat and not easy to change fiat into bitcoin. Although bitcoin has easier transactions, but bitcoin less popularity to replace the fiat. Here in Phillipines only few people use bitcoin, because of unfamilliar, some poeple dont try bitcoin because its famous in deepweb here. Not only in phillipines, in my country here Indonesia. Many people also don't know about bitcoin and how it works. That's why bitcoin can't replace the fiat because many people still don't know about bitcoin.

A year ago, the Phillipines did not even have their own local board here. Now, enough noise was created and the admins decided that granting a separate local board had become overdue.

Bitcoin cannot replace fiat because bitcoin is limited only in internet and cant be used without internet and government wont allow bitcoin to replace their money.
'Internet' is everywhere in modern world. When is the last time you went to a shop on a location without internet access? For me a cruise years ago was the last time. In the near future even airplanes will have internet access. So you think that "modern world" can applied to the whole world? Make sense. Everybody with access to this forum has access to internet. Of course there are remote places without internet, good luck spending your bitcoins there. I can not think of a way to make a secure transaction that can be uploaded later. If that can be implemented, bitcoin can be used everywhere.

Basically no. So people in PH really focus on deepweb issues rather than the benefits and advantage of using bitcoin? People in PH are not that like that in terms of choosing an online investment + easy transaction. Second, how come some of PH's local wallet exchanges really step up more and really improves their services as years passed. More opprotunity to use people's bitcoin. That is because many people are using their services. PH isn't still a bitcoin country but the adoption here is really noticeable as time passes by. See how active some of the facebook bitcoin group in PH?

Fiat is still more popular and it will continue its popularity in future too as I don't see any threat from bitcoin towards it and people will use both as its difficult to choose only one.

Yes, got you intrigued, didn't it?
Bitcoin is a very good thing to have as an asset. Just like gold. Even better if I may say. It's secure, and unlike fiat money it actually exists and work is put into it to produce it. This makes it great to store value. However, it cannot and will not replace current fiat money that the entire world it using. It just cannot. Take paying a cup of coffee for example. To pay your coffee with bitcoins, one must get bitcoins first, either by mining or buying bitcoins with other kinds of money (*cough*fiat*cough). It ends up being a quite complicated process, don't you think? Until we reach the point where paying for a cup of coffee is as easy with Bitcoin as it is with cash, we will never get mass adoption. And as far as I see it, there is no way of simplifying the acquiring of bitcoins.
Though you've got a point with this, you have to realize that people don't have money/fiat until the work for it. So why not cut out the middle man of acquiring fiat to pay for paper that represents literally nothing besides "trust" in the governments economy (because that's all that fiat represents). Let's instead replace fiat with bitcoins and then have it backed by Gold, just like how money used to be. That way, you can have the benefits of the gold standard and] be able to send it anywhere with just a click of a button and for cents per transaction? I'd rather pay that than deal with banks/interest/inflation any day any time.

Its not just poor countries lol. Most people arent aware bitcoin is available to them because I feel like how its been marketed so far in the media. When I mentioned bitcoin to my friend, he just thought of the "scam" reference with mt.gox.

Yes indeed OP bitcoin can't replace fiat/current currency because of the main use of it but moving forward as far as virtual world got more and more bitcoin users there's big possibility that incoming time will embrace bitcoin and many establishment will allow bitcoin as also one of payment process when that time comes we can say that bitcoin just did it.

Both fiat and crypto currency can coexist even now they are coexisting, fiat is used by people and is strong as a currency as well as bitcoin is strong as a digital currency.

I believe that bitcoin will never replace fiat because fiat is a well organized money and fiat system is supported by every government around the world and each money that a country have has its history behind it.
