Some day I sure bitcoin can replace fiat, we know fiat is is not relevant to the economy and free trade.
But it is a basic true that bitcoin cannot replace fiat, fiat has been and will forever be the way to exchange money between people directly, bitcoin appeared first to make exchanging money over the internet much easier so it has always been related to the internet but if the internet goes down so is the bitcoin and then what is the thing that is goanna run the economy for sure it is the fiat money.
i agree. physical money is still the way most transactions are normally done every single day. it's government ran. it's accessible to most people. it doesn't need online connection. bitcoin is good for transferring money and doing online transactions but it still is dependent on whether there is online access. compared to fiat, which as you've said is how most transactions were done, bitcoin would require a lot more to be fully accepted and i think with how things are going now, fiat would still be the major form of currency that we will all have even in the future
Not really cash is being displaced very fast in the developed countries like Sweden where most of the transactions are electronic and not with cash, cash is still prevalent in places where you may not have a strong banking sector.

I think we are at or nearing the point where digital cash is displacing physical cash in all western economies. America definitely has increased use of digital transfers over physical banknotes, and I would suspect it is just as true in most places in the west. (With a strong banking sector, of course. That's a prerequisite.)

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I think that a electronic currency like bitcoin can replace fiat easy in a few year.

For example look at sweden, they are paying now only elecronic, even small amounts,
they have now no normal fiat money anymore, so when this is possible in sweden, why not in every country?

The rise of digital fiat doesn't mean bitcoin is more likely to displace it. In fact, I would think it means it is less likely to displace it. One advantage bitcoin had over physical fiat is that it was digital and nearly instant. This advantage disappears with digital fiat, which is just as instantaneous, and further, bitcoin is not as versatile as fiat as a currency. Bitcoin has far too many obstacles to overcome to replace digital fiat.

Bitcoin can not replace fiat for now and that's a well known fact!!
If it isn't  broken don't fix it, so we carry on with both co-existing.

Well for my own opinion i can say that we can say that fiat will replace. i just heard that sweden are using digital or electronic payment but here in my country it is impossible that our money here will be replace with bitcoin unless if all places in our country has internet. and fiat will be as alternative payment method instead of bitcoin..
Here in my country bitcoin will be just good as alternative payment method but honestly you can be still shop online but limited. well i have saw some good news this year we they are added a vcc for bitcoin that honestly very usefull to shop online and we can connect it easily with paypal so we do not need virwox to convert balance from paypal to bitcoin..

Make crypto as your bank.

I think that these speculations regarding this issue is not worth a brass farthing. Why talk about what can not be determined. Bitcoin is a digital currency, as fiat real.

Of course I agree with your opinion. Each currency has its own niche. Bitcoin almost took his place in the financial system of the world, but this place still need to be defended.

Definitely, by seeing that bitcoin is digital currency so we can make conclusion that it doesn't even have physical form which fiat obviously having, it's just doesn't make sense comparing both thing which have different advantages and different usage in real world and digital world

What then is the purpose of those which oppose real bitcoin currency, banks and even the payment system. Always asking questions such as whether bitcoin could all be replaced. And yet know the answer, but still ask such silly questions. I agree with you completely. Bitcoin is a digital currency, and no longer to be used only in the network.

Bitcoin have the big chance to replace fiat. Becouse people in some countries were change their money in to bitcoin to save their wealth when their fiat price is fall against USD. Those country need to import logistic that they have to pay with USD. So I think people will prefer like to use bitcoin than fiat.

BTCBTCReplace.  Bitcoin is worth more than fiat, silver platinum and about to surpass gold.  Who needs to replace it.  It will cripple the counterfeit market. Thus proven in Venezuela.  When fiat bills are not accepted, there is always digital crypto currency.  Those who have the scam have to be stuck with it.  This digital revolution is amazing.  I always wondered how it would feel or what thing will be like during an era change.  We are in the center of the new era.  In ten years, fiat will be worthless or worth more in 100 years! The majority of dollars transacted are never made into notes.   Its very valid to compare to bitcoin as both are digital currencies.  Yes even the old green cotton Dollar is in fact in the modern technology era now a digital currency.    Its sent completely by electronic means and clearing to transfer value across the world, if you think about it then of course its all done by computers.   The difference is bitcoin is not fractional reserve backed, its fixed in its number and also dollar integrity is regulated by one central authority and no others.
Bitcoin is not supposed to be determined by one person or even one set of people in one country.   Im not sure how true it is now but its distributed in its control which is far closer to old capitalism and solid money then the modern political dollar.   The two are comparable though

Bitcoin is not worth more then gold just because we compare price vs ounce of gold in one currency Cheesy      The total market for all the metals is far larger then bitcoin, we arent close to that yet

nope i think bitcoin barely have a chance to replace fiat, how could the world of the financial system that has been built hundreds of years ago (very strong) can be replaced by bitcoin. although bitcoin might have a bright future. but I think bitcoin will not be able to replace fiat

surpassing gold in a single unit value is oen thing but on the marketcap is another, still a long way to go for the latter

what i believe is that bitcoin can eventully reach fiat level in the electrocnic payment at some point in history, maybe not usd but other minor fiat currency

Bitcoin definitely has that potential, but it's contingent on a large number of factors

People would surely love to use bitcoin instead of cash if they come to know about it, but we also should not forget that those people are not able to do that themselves but they have a government which decides what currency will be used in that country.

Indeed. And the factors bitcoin needs if ever it will replace he current fiat system is pretty much inaccessible to other countries. By now the only ones that can realistically say that they can use bitcoin as currency instead of fiat are those rich first world countries. And even then, it's almost impossible not to uae fiat for simple daily transactions

Bitcoin have the big chance to replace fiat. Becouse people in some countries were change their money in to bitcoin to save their wealth when their fiat price is fall against USD. Those country need to import logistic that they have to pay with USD. So I think people will prefer like to use bitcoin than fiat.
nope i think bitcoin barely have a chance to replace fiat, how could the world of the financial system that has been built hundreds of years ago (very strong) can be replaced by bitcoin. although bitcoin might have a bright future. but I think bitcoin will not be able to replace fiat

Bitcoin definitely has that potential, but it's contingent on a large number of factors

Still that will be a hardcore move. There will be a lot who will take advantage of this. There are a lot of hackers in the world of web and it might be the reason for bitcoin to be annihilated and never be seen again. I will still stay with bitcoin being the online currency only.

Replace, erase.....  blah blah blah!  Look way back when sugar was used for barter and trade.  Bitcoin is mere fuel that runs the blockchain,  Financial institutions are flocking to it.  All the buzzards and vulchers are having their way.  Move over fiat.  A new currency been around.  Eat you heart out, you governmental bureaucrats.  All hail digital crypto currencies to the futurrrrrrreeeeeee..
