this is not the right place to ask for money, this thread is meant for storming and sharing ideas about solving the challenge.

The easy math to calculate expected group ops using kangaroo is to take your bit range, divide by 2, add 1.05. (bit range / 2) + 1.05 so for #125 = 125/2 + 1.05 = 63.55.

So you are saying solving 125 is almost the same as solving 64? While 125 is 32 times bigger than 120, are you saying if we use kangaroo we could reduce the range to equivalent of brute forcing 63.55? Your math is confusing, unless kangaroo operations is different than brute force ops.
Again, #125 is not 32 times larger, searching, using kangaroo, than #120...

YES, Kangaroo is way different that brute force. That is why 120, 115, 110, etc was solved before 66, 67, 68, etc.

But to keep it simple, yes, kangaroo would reduce the #125 search to an equivalence of brute forcing 2^63.55 keys...

Anyways, @WanderingPhilosopher is there any news about the new program? Did you get it to move up in bit size?
Negative...I have not solved the stride function on GPU yet. I am going a different direction until that is solved.

In the meantime, everyone needs to think/guess/fortune cookie/etc, what they think the second character is for #125, b/c it starts with a 1, we know that much. So what are the first 2 characters, 1F, 1E, 1D, 17, 15, etc?
I have a plan to attack this and let people help in the range (1F, 1E, etc.) they feel is the contains the private key...more to follow.

Why? How many bits would be the key space if we got the first  two characters right?

No wait don't answer that lemme try..
61.55 bits

We could start in that range from the middle, then near the end, and eventually near the beginning.

Like 18'ish then 1F'ish then 11'ish

Then turns out to be 13 and screws us up. Tough task.

And how can you calculate or guess which letter comes next? There is no way. Hash is only one way and only one piece. I can't say that puzzle 66 randomly starts at 3C that easy

I’m not guessing. All ranges will be accounted for, but if someone thinks the key lies in 1, 2, 3, etc ranges. They can focus their firepower in that range. But at least half of work in every range will be good and help towards the private key. And all of the work in the range where the key does lie, will be good.

What about random kangaroos? Is it worth the thought?

The 0.09 btc to 1BgGZ9tcN4rm9KBzDn7KprQz87SZ26SAMH maybe start of a countdown? What happens at 0? End of puzzle?

Kangaroos are random in nature. Random starting point then they follow a jump path or you can reset them to another random starting point after they find a DP (distinguished point).

I (and whoever else joins in my race) will be using kangaroo however, I am using some other tools to shorten the range. Every little bit helps lol

IMO it was a signal so peeps would know to look at the challenge wallets; since that wallet is the most watched, recognizable address. Could be wrong though 🤷‍♂️

Not wrong, it was the only address with a solved pvt key that got funded almost 10x its original prize. That's a light switch.

So I was thinking, puzzle keys are not sequentially generated and masked with 0s, what if for example, for a range which is supposed to start with 1like 0x10000:0xfffff , the key generated randomly had 0x2 or 0x3 at 5th character from the right? Then Satoshi would have needed to use another key.

Example:
ae65342fff1ec7f98cade1a14fe45d0ec1778a5102b9d56cbbaa8c67f6466fda

Note, the 6 in bold, since I need my key to start with 1, I can't mask this key with leading zeros, so I would discard it and would use another one.

So don't waste your time by looking for deterministic wallet patterns, or comparing the solved keys with unsolved keys as I said and Satoshi himself said it, there is no pattern, not because we don't want people to solve them, but because we don't want them to waste their time.

What we all should focus on is the puzzles with known public keys, I'd suggest everyone to dive into the vast ocean of public keys, while we all will drown and die eventually, it will be a hell of a swim! Lol.

After seeing ten folding of the pot, I have lost my focus, I can't think throughly because now the competition has more incentive!🤣

1- the creator used a pattern to start the keys.
2-the creator used a deterministic portfolio (it is another pattern but more complex).

Do you still believe that there is no pattern?
the creator maybe thought the same as you at the time and thought it was 100% random i guess.
Soon I will share more details, how to reduce the range.

He could use programming languages, python, c++... (2015 year, what were the random generators and what hardware did he use) or, if possible, hardware wallets Leger etc... in this case, if possible, you need to work in this direction with the processor of the Leger itself or emulate its processor (and through seed selection). Moreover, we do not know where these funds (+10x) come from, they can be stolen from the exchange, etc., but the author did not appear.

Creator or someone has private key of 161-256 bit range (disable)?
I will check the key in correct range. All has pubkey but you never found key with tools is big range.

i think we could possible use the websites data and all the found keys.  find their page number and how many pages between each key.   getting up to 65s page we could use. 65s priv key wasnt released. and use 70s page number. 66 has to lay in between 65-70 im guessing we could lower by going to the pages and stopping it once it changes into a new +1bit key. taking this info would shorten the gap in between searches. you could then take all the data from what page 65 was found on which is "509,472,955,201,070,048"  till im guessing around page 1,400,472,955,201,070,048 would be the highest, because those are start stops of 2,4fff. you could probably make the rang a bit smaller. but taking those pages pull the data from that and run a brute force or a different algorithm to find either the matching p2pkh(c) key.     EDIT i dont think itd be to hard to find the bigger ones with know publc key obviously that reason being the more info you have to match up to info on the pages and in the rang you pick itd be faster, step 1 pull data and make your range, step 2 "the more info the better known" run what you have between the data base you pullled.

I (and whoever else joins in my race) will be using kangaroo however, I am using some other tools to shorten the range. Every little bit helps lol
If you have a keyhunt cuda that could be used for 125+ ranges and on windows, I could join, but I don't think you have that, so while you are doing your work, I'm using  mouse and keyboard instead of software! Lol twice.
