I know I'm new here, and I don't own very many shares but, here's an idea I'll toss out there. There are 51k shares outstanding atm. Way too many to handle as direct shares for one person alone. But, if you did a 1:5 or 1:10 reverse split on the shares you get bout 10k or 5k in shares outstanding. I think that could be managed as direct shares on here IMO. One thread for trading the shares and such and one thread for discussions/voting and such.

This IMO is an outstanding asset, and, is well thought out and well run. If maybe some ppl would be willing to help moderate the trade thread, this shouldn't be too much work IMO.

OK sorry if I'm totally off base, and I realize there will be loss in liquidity this way, but maybe something can be hashed out from this very basic idea?

This is out-of-the-box thinking. And I like that kind of thinking.

But I would have to disagree with it completely. Creativex pays daily dividends and manages all the equipment. That alone is almost a full-time job (we'll call it a solid part-time job).
I can't imagine him running direct shares as well. He would barely have any time left over to drink while cleaning his guns!  Cheesy

I think our best move... is to a new exchange.

agreed Creativex couldn't run it. but from lookin on here, and this this thread in particular, there are any number of you that could help w/ the numbers, and the trade thread. Only final transfers would have to be looked over by Creativex IMO.

Well ty for not bashing to death tho. It was only an idea.

It's pretty much confirmed that btct.co source codes will be sold (auctioned off) to someone in the bitcoin community and the exchange will be re-opened under a new name and clean slate of issuers and users.

Although, in light of all the legal troubles with US regulators, US-based companies may be prohibited from it.

In other news, cex.io - bitfury commodity exchange where you can buy Gh/s with instant delivery (at ghash.io pool).

I'm really not certain another exchange is the solution to this issue, but whatever way it goes I suppose.

Looks like some nice modding possibilities with our order...37% increase in performance with some heatsinks and a PENCIL  Shocked

1 TH order instead of 800 Gh?

I am currently getting 551GH/s noncerate as a type this on my full rig.   Running R02F at 1.2k, small heatsinks attached to the back of each board, 6x 120mm fans split on each side of the rig, 2x 200mm fans on the top of the rig.

The chip temps all seem to be in the low 50 C range or lower.

I was planning on phoning Creativex at the phone number on his site, but it was a Sunday and I thought I'd just leave him alone.

But if anyone here wants to call him and ask what's up I'm sure it would be appreciated. Smiley

Why did you do that?  Creativex posted on the main page to not panic sell and you said in your previous post you knew he would do the right thing for us...

Take care

Should BASIC come to an end, the current reserve fund would be paid out to investors, correct? My questions, how large is that fund and how many shares are there outstanding?

It's in the shareholder agreement.

Should management be unable or unwilling to continue operations of bASIC-MINING, a suitable replacement, designated by management, will be sought out. If none can be found, all outstanding shares of bASIC-MINING will be bought back at a price no less than 105% of the 7d Avg price, all assets held by bASIC-MINING will be liquidated, and the proceeds distributed to shareholders.

Take care

I'm working through a large number of emails and PMs, please be patient. There have been problems doing much of anything on btct.co. Most transfer attempts or dividend payouts result in bitcoind backend failure messages.

thanks for info, great job as always. Downtime on bitcointalk didn't help either. Let's look forward to getting those bitfuries up and running when they arrive :-) that should be fun ;-)

Looks like the DNS resolver for the btct.co domain name is incorrect.  To access add manual address in hosts file:

As far as I can tell, the domain name itself expired yesterday, and the registrar eNom has helpfully decided to cease providing correct DNS information with immediate effect: their service at name-services.com is now returning the IP 8.5.1.36 for btct.co queries instead of the IP 141.101.113.21.

I am not recommending the following, because many people will rightfully expect a signed, sealed, and gold plated confirmation from Ethan before trusting any information about iP addresses, but if you were to place the original IP address in a hosts file, and clear your DNS cache, you would then find that the site is still very much alive and kicking. I have just done this myself and could see the last trade shown on the front page was only 49 seconds ago, so either people with cached DNS information are still able to get there, or the problem was resolved while I was typing.

The registration itself should have a grace period, and abruptly ceasing DNS services for the domain does not, in my view, speak very well at all for eNom.

Code:
141.101.113.21 btct.co
