If we have faith in the potential of bitcoin then I think we should not listen to the people around us, as we know that bitcoin will be more powerful in future.

once I read the thread title, I remembered what happen when that developer announced that bitcoin is dead and the price went down for more than $100 in two days or more just because the panic selling he cause. I wonder if he still on his opinion or he realized he was wrong

Of course he was wrong and his statement didn't make any difference to the true believers of bitcoin as they continued to invest their money in bitcoin and now we all are seeing the outcome.

Such statements had just made panic among users and few left it without hope, but now they truly realize and accept the potential of bitcoin.

Silly miner got too greedy and killed it when they put fees up to $55 per transaction and lost all that trust that had taken years to build up

Yes it's going to die, house cleaning if you like but then something much more modern will rise from the ashes but i think it will be wrapped in in a type of AI
that will be sold as a service to finance the mining fees.

Mining is CPU-wars and Intel, AMD like it nearly as much as big oil likes miners wasting electricity. Is this what mankind has come too.

Bitcoin Classic rolls out, and days later there is no word about it in the News Media.

Mike Hearn declares Bitcoin dead and within hours it is in the New York Times.....
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/17/business/dealbook/the-bitcoin-believer-who-gave-up.html

Mark my words: Bitcoin is getting ready to be in a fight for it's life.

On one side are the Blockstream/Core players.  Liars, manipulators, shill, not afraid to destroy the fabric of Bitcoin with every bit of FUD they can dredge up - even if it kills bitcoin, but if they can't have total control, no one can.

On the other side you have Mike Hearn w/R3CEV/Hyperledger/Banks (AND Mainstream Media & Govt backing - don't forget that!)

We are at the start of a foot race to see who gets ready forst for the upcoming global financial meltdown.

It's pretty clear that Bitcoin Classic will prevail in the upcoming March Fork given the huge amount of support / concensus for it.  But Blockstream seems to wat to make this a do or die fight, and they appear to be willing to destroy the good name of bitcoin if they don't get their way.  The looming battle may be the perfect backdrop of confusion and chaos for a Fiat Coin to rise from the shadows, and with the help of Gov't & Media nods - be introduced to the masses.

Fasten your seatbelts kiddies.... this is going to be a wild ride.  Right now I am betting 50% on Classic / 50% on Fiat Coin.  Current 1mb Blockstream/Core Coin not even worth mentioning in my opinion.  I see 0.001%.
Lol! That always happens. Media and social networking sites are way too fast to claim that a coin is dead but never raise their voice when there is a positive change. Bitcoin cannot be dead so soon. It has always regained its position; however, I would say that there are other coins that we should focus on right now including, prg which has a great chance of rising.

Yes, that line "bitcoin is dead" already announced multiple times yet bitcoin is still alive and keeps increasing its price as time pass by. A lot of believers and supporters of bitcoin are everywhere so it's really impossible that bitcoin will die.

Bitcoin cannot be dead. It is a great coin and always been able to handle all situations in the crypto world. Meanwhile, the ones worried can invest in Lamden or EOS as they are also great coins and their prices are low right now, so you should keep TAU in your wallet before it rises.

Somewhere I read that bitcoin was declared dead more than 600 times. Even this theme was created more than two years ago, and bitcoin is still alive and is not going to die. Maybe one day bitcoin will die, nothing lasts forever. However, we hope that he will continue to please us for a long time and bring us a good profit.

Bitcoin dead?
This is bad news and not true, I think bitcoin will never die. Because already many people in this world use bitcoin. Because bitcoin has helped a lot of people who use bitcoin, bitcoin can change people's numbness for the better. I do not know Mike Hearn if it's true he says bitcoin is dead, I do not care because he's not a decent person I trust.

We cant change the fact that there are many people speculating and spreading bad news about bitcoin. Bitcoin going through these situations for many years, and bitcoin always proved them wrong. The dropping of its price is normal, because bitcoin is volatile. For some people that dont know what is volatile, it means that the value is rapidly changing and its unpredictable to know if its going to increase or decrease.

Mike Hearn was right.  Failure to deal with scaling - caused Bitcoin's death.  It was a lot slower than Mike Hearn imagined, but SegWit did definately fuck Bitcoin up and it is very doubtful that it can come back.  So many fan boys keep the price high, but technically it is dead.  Now, we jsut have to wait for Bitcoin Cash or Ethereum to take over.  Both of those have scaling solutions.  Bitcoin Core is fucked completely. fucked az mate.

Bitcoin as of now is certainly not going to get out of the hundreds section. I would be so much happier if that were the case, only because this way, we can find a way to control the rising and growing. For example, when it goes low its time to buy. When it's high, its time to sell. If Bitcoin just skyrockets to 400 million dollars one day and just keeps growing, it'll be hard for newcomers to adopt.

I think not just Mike Hearn, every individual has the right to have his own view of bitcoin. including us, but we as crypto actors will not agree with Mike's view.

I would like to hear some comments about current state of Bitcoin from him.

Unfortunately when you carry out such a ridiculous ragequit you can never temper your original cookie tossing without looking like a larger penis than ever.

I never get why anyone makes such blanket statements about something that's out there for the whole world to influence. It could morph into anything if the collective will is there. Someone with his knowledge and overview should be aware of that more than anyone.

Bitcoin is not dead. The birth of cryptocurrency cannot be reversed because of some statement or comment by some folk who doesn't understand the meaning of cryptocurrency. Many have said this about bitcoin and yet the bitcoin keeps waxing stronger and stronger.

The so-called Mike  Heard is dead  wrong about bitcoin as with several others who have said same thing in the past. Some even became cryptic converts
