Update from devs for week of 2/11/18

Preparations for the 1.5 hardfork continue; minor but important details are being resolved as we get ever closer to rollout.
On the ConceptCrypt side, we’ve updated the graphics on the website to be more appealing, and the marketing team has begun searching for partners in our efforts to bring CC’s functionality to end-users such as graphic designers, musicians, and photographers. We’re also beginning a relationship with a small business advising firm to aid in the development of our business and marketing strategies.
https://twitter.com/RadiumCore/status/963201019659341825

Also some clarification regarding reward reduction:

According to current specifications here - https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Radium_Core/Blockchain_Specifications
RADS reward will drop to 0.25 approx in a week on 21 Feb.
Recently devs raised an idea to hold 0.5 reward for more long time due to low inflating rate in RADS and upcoming HF would have to prevent this drop to 0.25. But as HF was postponed, we still will see 0.25 next week.
After HF it will restore to 0.5 again and will stay at this level about next 2 years and then drops to 0.25 approx in 2020y.
That's the plan, I suppose devs will post some official statement for that, so stay tuned and don't be confused when you see 0.25 soon, it's temporary untill HF.

What will we need to do for the hard fork? If I am out of town(Chinese New Year) I will be unable to update the wallet. Should I leave it running or shut it down? Many people will be out of town during this time of year. Not sure how this will affect the network.

Just leave it running and even if HF implements during your absence, it will lead only to a waste of your electricity cuz you will staking the old chain which will already worthless.
But I doubt HF will be implemented in 2 weeks, cuz as described here it requires more time for that:
https://blog.radiumcore.org/radium-update-40-core-protocol-upgrade-plan-f3ce52135120
As with all our forks, we will be providing ample time (4–8 weeks) for both our users and critical infrastructure (exchanges, explorers, etc.) to update their nodes and software.

Hi,

I have an issue with my wallet, sadly.
Last week it was synced just fine.
This week it has got zero connections and is out of sync.
I tried transferring some Rads out of the wally, but it seems they are unconfirmed now and just sitting in the wallet.
It did say they would be sent to the node to be processed but nothing for about 12 hours.
Thanks for any help.

Did you run 1.4.7.1 version? Save your wallet.dat and try to run 1.4.7.1 https://radiumcore.org/downloads on another comp.

So do you need to be running the 1.5 wallet for the HF?

No, I was on the old wallet when I sent it.
Didn't realize there was a new one when I sent the coins.
Surprised the old wallet wouldn't send even though it was an older wallet.
I never got an update request.

I've tried on another computer with the dat. file.
It's still showing stuck in the wallet.

Would like to get this resolved if at all possible.

It would be better if you rise your issue in Official Telegram - https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@RadiumOfficial
it seems like you have some probs with your connection to RADS network therefore you can't sync normally.
check your actual balance here - https://chainz.cryptoid.info/rads/
just copy-paste your RADS address and check last transactions

The price has dropped too much from past few weeks also there is low volume on bittrex. Best time to accumulate before it leave the station.

Update from dev team for week of 2/18/18:

We anticipate the 1.5 code will be completed within the week; after that, we’ll perform a rigorous battery of tests to make sure we’ve got it right before the hardfork.

But the hardfork isn’t the only thing the developers are working on because, well, that’d be boring. They’ve also begun building a web-based user interface for the SmartChain to make it more accessible and user friendly.

Update for week of 2/25/18: With the fork code essentially completed, we’ve encountered a legal issue related to making the developers fund compliant with the tax code.
We’re exploring multiple solutions and seeking legal advice, and we’ll pass on updates as we navigate this complication

There is also a monthly competition called "Community Coin of the Month". The winner gets rewarded with a free listing on Binance.
See, e.g., Twitter: https://twitter.com/binance_2017/status/970538489220509696
The announcement for last month: https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000598531
I guess that the announcement for this month will be publicized soon.

If more people buy and stay here on the market, the price can be raised, and it may grow quickly to buy it together.
