Both sides of this discussion have substance and validity and it's easy to be a bit wishy-washy here.

Community is a major factor in the success of any coin.  It's one of the most important, if not THE most important factor when it comes to alt-coins.

But I would like to add a regurgitation of what I have been trying to say all along. We all need to come together and think bigger than our current perspective. Make decisions based on what is best for the strength and stability of TrumpCoin BUT ALSO make sure you are considering crypto as a whole. The mission is not "Make TrumpCoin Better Again." It's Make CRYPTO better again. That statement implies some serious SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Recognize that TrumpCoin would not exist if not for its predecessors and its "competitors". The coin that is finally able to pull support from the folks invested in all other coins will be the one that actually pays its due respect back to its elders because those elders will MAKE or BREAK you with their support or lack thereof.

TrumpCoin's lack of certain techs can be a positive for other coins that are tech centric. If we make it TRUMP's job to simply attract new mainstream investors, we can also educate them with information about other technologies in the cryptoshpere and point them in directions that better suit some of their needs. This is called CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY and it works.

Balance the scales

Coins need to be minted at a rate that investors can keep up with AT the price that miners need in order to run their rigs. It boils down to a simple socially responsible decision. Will investors continue to piss on the books or will miners have to? If investors cannot add BTC volume to the markets then the balance will shift over to the miners and TRUMP will crash its own market because miners sitting on large stacks will race to dump them. Miners compete for many things and not being a bag holder is among the most important of these. They need reassurance before they will become loyal to any coin.

The way things are now, either the miners suppress the price by dumping in order to recover their investments or the investors suppress the price to prevent the miners from dumping at a high price.

We need to stop standing off.

Reduce the coin supply if you believe there won't be enough investors for a while to keep up OR maintain supply and rise to meet the miners' needs with a constant flow of BTC and a SOLID investment strategy that works predictably for ALL INVESTORS.

If the miners see their price being met by a coin, they will start bidding, hoarding and playing fair a bit more. They won't want to ruin a good thing. Yes, there will be a few that try to ruin it for everyone else but the majority will recover from the selfish few IF the majority decides to play fair among ourselves.

The question should not be whether or not to restrict coin supply. The REAL question is how many people believe in crypto enough to work together and bring our collective wallets to the table for a campaign to make things better and seriously seek mass-adoption.

If the answer is low, then you need to curb minting and reduce supply.

If the majority answer is "Count me in" then I would say it's best not to change the rules in the middle of the game.

True but to me it seems like price manipulation.  What will happen if the price drops again?  Even longer block times and lower block rewards?  Dev should just do one more revised wallet release and that's it.  Any future releases should be for new features not spec modifications.  I am all down for higher prices since I am holding over 100k, however, Trump Coin should honest, straight forward and look out for everyone, even miners, like Mr. Trump would.  PR and implementation of features is the key to price rise.

I'm on board either way this decision happens and I've already stated to the dev in PM that I do actually support the reduction...

but I do want to point out that BUY support at YoBit went from around 6 BTC to 1.2 last night after the new wallet announcement.

People vote with their dollar more than anything else. Looks to me like your most serious players have been demoralized and are walking. If a new majority does not stand up and put their BTC where their opinions are to support what is being asked and given, then I would say think twice before pulling the trigger.

Admittedly, my own mining wallet is threat to this coin. I was THE threat for a few days. Lots of wallets are catching up and one has passed me now. Passed ALL OF US. If we can't agree to meet in the middle somewhere then those large wallets are going to eventually dump and destroy this coin.

The actual BTC value is not as meaningful as the fact that it accounts for more than 15% of the entire economy right now.

I believe that whoever that wallet belongs to has every right to have it. They invested in one way or another and earned it.

That person deserves a fair price for the coins, as we all do.

That person also has the power to take what he/she feels entitled to while ruining it for everyone else.

Some coins have a tendency to go through an incubation period before break out. The issue with this kind of coin is that its political in nature and not technical, so we are really in uncharted waters here. Only a few coins went in this direction.

The only political coin that we have history on is Ron Paul coin, and it peaked to .025 in Jan 2014 and then crashed a few months later, total burnout.

Of course, theres also Sanderscoin and its trading for about half Trump's price.

All we can do is continue to mine, hold, and deal with the obvious dumpers of this coin. Hopefully the dumpers will lose interest and eventually move on to something else.

I think things will get interesting with this coin as Trump continues to win. Mark my words if this coin is still alive and we enter the Generals with Trump vs Hillary it will explode.
