yes both have the same risk. but trading is safer, when prices fall, it will certainly rise again, but it depends, if it trades altcoins may be more at risk. trading depending strategy, while gambling depends on luck.
Yeah your right trading is better and safer because anytime you can sell altcoin if the price is low but anytime the price can be change the movement from decreasing to increasing.. and you can manage your trading strategy its always depends in your skills how to manage it to make a profit.. unlike gambling i am always lose just like 4 hours ago i play primedice and lose 0.01 in minutes..  in trading 0.01 i can make a profit until 0.02-0.04..

Hey people,

I've always been a huge gambler. I like creating useless schemes (as we all know bank always win ^^) and betting whole nights long in order to find THE right way of betting.
But I need change, I can't bet over and over on the same game cause after I see that nothing can be done to change the odds, I'm bored.

So I thought a bit about trading and I started not so long ago. and it feels a bit like a betting game without knowing the odds and with an infinity of parameters!

Does anyone else takes trading as a gambling game? Smiley

In a way, it is.  But as you probably already know, everything is calculated.  You don't put money in if you don't have an edge, and bet big when you do.  Like poker, everything relies in your bet sizing, the odds and your edge.  And of course bankroll management is a must for any serious gambler.  We're lucky to have cryptocurrencies...  With little capital you can move money from exchange to exchange with ease and do some trading and all that with almost minimal fees.  It is ridiculously low compared to the fees of the banks when you trade stocks.  And you can't even move money from exchange to exchange.  That is really limiting imho.

Hopefully all the volume/liquidity across the board improves on many altcoins so that we can trade more in fiat amount.  Only BTC, LTC and ETH, as of today have good volume and liquidity.  I wish that changes soon.  Crossing my fingers...

I don't think that trading is like 100% gambling. There are so many things which affects the price of the particular stock or commodity, prices increased and decreased because of various factors. Those who understand the trading market can guess the possible trend; whether it will be rise or fall, so for these people trading is not gambling. If someone doesn't know anything about trading and market then it can be consider as gambling.

Yes exactly. With trading there is a certain amount of skill. Its less random then gambling. Its like shooting a gun with a bag on your head when you gamble but when you trade its like hitting a target from afar. Trading would be easier. Also if you lose value in the investment at least you haven't lost everything.

but still gambling have more risk than trading because gambling profit basic from our luck but it would be small different from trading
because in trading if you have the correct predictions for the prices i'm pretty sure you could earn profit from trading daily

sometimes trading feels like gambling to me too, especially when i trade or see some of the altcoins on exchages.

but i don't consider trading as gambling because real trading is based on analysis and study not chance.

to the moon with bitcoin...

Yeah its always the best in trading because low risk and high profit.. you can try test your skill in prediction with bitcoin price in second trade but this kind of game is just like a gambling because you cannot sell altcoin your are just making a profit depends in your prediction..

Gambling gives you fun and the reason that you are trading is to earn some money with it.
I also think the same. Trading altcoins can be a nice way to earn bitcoins because once you get good in predicting the future of a altcoin you can easily invest and make bitcoins with it. Though at the same time I think trading requires luck so can be called as gambling too.

Well in the first place others alts are just there for profit taking since fluctuation here is more active than bitcoin.

And besides it's good that only few really taking the stage with a nice profit since if all are like that, bitcoin price may not reached the desired price of others.

The way I look at it, if volume and liquidity increase significantly across the board on, say, the top 50 altcoins.  This means there's more money going around, more people coming in and more demand for the coins...  As an after effect a price increase will happen, obviously.  But more importantly, it also means that the cryptocurrency economy as a whole is growing.  Growth is really the factor to watch here.  Right now, I think we are still in the fragile stages as far as crypto is concerned.  It could still all fall and fail.

I can't consider trading as gambling and this is not a luck base.. it needs skill base that you can manage your trading strategy. you can make a high profit here if you search carefully before you buy an altcoin and sell it when the price is high..

And the result will be slow fluctuations. Let's say 50 alts share the stage all at once ranging from at least, $5-$10 price per coin, yes in here we can considered that crypto economy growing.

Long term investment goal of some traders and holders will now change since the volume will now be shared by more alts even with the increase of numbers of traders.

yes both have the same risk. but trading is safer, when prices fall, it will certainly rise again, but it depends, if it trades altcoins may be more at risk. trading depending strategy, while gambling depends on luck.
of course, trading and gambling have risk, but in different level, gambling have bigger risk because you can stop loss on gambling, you can decide how much your loss or your profit, but when you trading, you can decide it,even gambling can doubling your money fastly if lucky, but its will not defend inlong run,and its suck when your unlucky day coming.

Also in trading we can minimize the loss while in the usual gambling it's all luck based if you can get some nice earnings.

But one thing is common from doing both, they are both fun and intense to do since you don't know what will be the output.

no I don't think so. I think gambling is some thing different from trading. gambling remain risky all the time. where as in trading there always remain a safe way to avoid the risk of loosing. trading is halal and legal in Islamic sharia where as gambling Is forbidden.

Definitely trading, this is due to the fact that many people are addicted to gambling and got their life wreck while in trading many people got succeeded and they are already enjoying a comfortable life, in trading you need to to gamble also as in everything venture that involves money the risk is always present but if you learn the basic and eventually master it you will have a good future in trading and you begin to consistently earn more money.

They both have common thing risking your money for the chance to earned quicker or much bigger the only difference was in trading you do have some edge if you know the principle of the trade that you are holding but in gambling it is always pure luck that you are hoping to win it.

Trading can be called gambling to since where risking money here and same with gambling we need strat and proper monitoring so we cam earn money in that 2 said program but for me trading is the very good platform for risking your momey because you can make sure your safe if you properly monitor the price of coin you wish to buy and theirs always safezone on gambling because high chance to get back your money even though you miss the pump, but in other gambling games if your start losing its very hard to win back your losses since knowing gambling in different sites is high chance for the player to lose.

Trading is totally different from Gambling.  Thus you have to combine the two ideas like to gamble in trading which will mean trading similar to gambling.  To gamble in trading is making investments knowing that there will be a possibility to end up on big loses or a normal gains or big profits.  it is like taking a chance and all the result are maximum (Loosing everything or gaining).

What betting in new coin? honestly i can consider trading as gambling trading is just like other market.
Example fish i will buy from a dealer price so its cheap and sell them high to other.. this is just like a trading..
So i will never consider trading as gambling because you are buying something good that you can sell it when the price is high.. or if the price is decrease you can still sell it.. unlike bitcoin if you gamble you lose theres no guarantee..
