Version 12 of Nano Node Released

On Friday, April 13th, 2018, our team encountered a bug while bootstrapping that led to nodes failing to resolve forks correctly and keeping them from staying in sync. Our team immediately reached out to exchanges and advised them to close deposits and withdrawals until the problem was resolved. Once upgraded to version 12, exchanges will be able to reopen and resume trading as usual.

Upon diagnoses, IO thread starvation was causing network disconnections, which led to forks failing to resolve properly. IO threads are supposed to only queue long IO operations and then wait for more work. Instead, it was waiting for a database write lock to be available, which while bootstrapping could be many seconds or longer depending on scheduling.

While the appearance of this bug occurred during the same time-frame as the implementation of universal blocks, it was unrelated. The second canary is still on schedule to be released; this date will be provided in the upcoming days.

Our team has worked around the clock on this issue and putting a fix in place. The update to version 12 results in a more secure and stable Nano network.

Version 12 also de-peers nodes running versions 10 and below. These nodes will need to update to the latest version in order to re-sync with the Nano network, as they do not understand universal blocks.

Well, look at the bright side, the scammer is known and can be sued in court for massive fraud. It will take time, but if you are a true NANO believer, you may get back your NANO at a much higher price!

So much FUD around NANO. Can this coin ever get a break? I also agree, there is no way getting those NANOs back without doing fork. Those stolen coins were sold and resold on exchanges probably back in October.

I personally bought more nano. Every other coin has pumped in the top 100 except nano. Sure that's no sign that it will but in a market determined by technical analysis right now. Nano is one of the few buys I would dare atm. Everything else may get a small pullback unfortunately

The fundamental more better each day because Nano have great team of development. So every problems come to Nano they can solve it as soon as possible and they are quite transparent about the problems they face. With good product and development i think Nano worth for investment and i am sure the team can make a new breakthrough about this project

I did not find any relevant news regarding NANO/Binance deposits,but such things seem to happen on a regular basis which is certainly one big disadvantage when it comes to Nano trading.People want to have access to their coins whenever they want,stoping deposits/withdraws for few days every month is really ridiculous.

There is no need to lunch a shop to buy electronic with Nano,we just need that some of the existing stores accept Nano as a means of payment.So if you have some shop you like to buy from, send them e-mail and ask to consider Nano coin as payment.
