So .. can someone explain this to me?

We KNOW this trust system doesnt work so why has this system still managed to be present here in this forum? Forget about me and my cases, people are douchebags and you can't change that.

But I have seen thousands of profiles here that got negatively rated because someone didnt like how they spoke.

OP what you are talking about is a widespread problem on the forum, members are changing the meaning of what a scammer is as they go along just to leave negative rep, you should probably pm blazed about getting some of the users that left you negative trust off of Default Trust if you think you dont deserve the feedback

i dont think so.

<...> I really think that Lutpin and Mexxer are doing alright so far. I think it sucks we need people who have to scam bust, but this forum is a cesspool of scammers if we do not <....> I have spoken with a few high-level people and had some message me about these 2 additions. Everyone agrees they are doing an alright job so far <...>

You used pictures from google and saying its your previous work,Giving negative trust isn't when you have scammed but also when we think it might be a scam.It isn't if someone try to scam then before giving them negative wait  for them to scam.

OP you got busted yet again, that's what happened.   The trust system is fairly broken but you're not a victim here, so stop with the babe-in-the-woods routine.  I derived great pleasure out of that luxury used car scam of yours.  It was entertaining watching you duck and weave while you got the smackdown.  Sad in a way, too.

I would rather not talk about myself or my cases that would clearly leave me with a biased opinion.

What I would like to talk about is the this Minority report style of ASSUMING things and then blaming people of doing shit that they never did. Maybe this keeps low level scammers off obvious viewport but it does not stop scams, they keep happening and most that happen are with these 'new accounts' that get created when one account gets a red flag.

Its free to create email, its free to create an account here and that leads to a numerous amount of shill account creation , more bogus content, more confusion. How is this in anyway healthy for this community?

Quickseller / Vod / Tradefortress all of them MISUSED the immense trust that they had built here by simply scam busting. And in their over zealousness they have populated this forum with trolls and shill accounts.

So do tell me how is what these idiots are doing an "alright job" ?

Deserve is a strong word. I dont deserve anything. I earn it.
I have had contacts with leCruze exotics and  I tried to cash that in with the new and exciting Bitcoin thingy. That resulted in me getting accused of being an arabian scammer.

What happens if I go to - whoever - and have the negative trust rebuked / removed? Does it stop people like Quickseller for being utter douchebags?? Does it undo the damage done?

Yeah if it were the real world, things would have been different. But how do yo stop some two bit troll hiding behind a barrage of shill accounts and online anonymity?

Haha funny. I am not here to complain. When people say scam what do they really mean? I mean REALLY mean?
That is what I am here for, the intent and purpose of this thread.

The trust system is for scammers and those you suspect of being high risk of scamming in future.

If you behave dishonestly today then people who deal with you in the future need to know that you have been proven to have behaved dishonestly.

It isn't a preventative action, it is a community communication one.

The trust system does work. It is a p2p community, and so if someone is wrongfully negative repped, they can go to the person who left that rep and explain themselves. If they are the ones being unfair, they shouldn't be on default trust, in which that the person who put them there should take them off.

Dishonestly?

Are you sure you want to go with THAT term? I can show you a hundred profiles here that have said or done things 'dishonestly' over the past 3 years I have been here and they have not been reported negatively because of the connections they have - or - the trust that they have built.

Over and over again we have seen here that people that actually criticize people are nothing but trolls and people who have NEVER displayed a trait of dishonesty do something "dishonest". But how many times has there been a community backlash at those users?

Maybe a few top ones got out but what about the others ?

People in this community especially these "janitors" that clean up the low level scammers and shitfucks here are anything BUT fair.
They have a predefined set of rules based on their OWN morals and perception or something that is practiced by a few and they want the world to work that way.

So .. can someone explain this to me?

We KNOW this trust system doesnt work so why has this system still managed to be present here in this forum? Forget about me and my cases, people are douchebags and you can't change that.

But I have seen thousands of profiles here that got negatively rated because someone didnt like how they spoke.

Without getting too involved I have seen people unfairly neg rep'd a number of times. I guess it's like a dictatorship sometimes. Don't get on the wrong side of the big hitters or you get #REKT.

Kissing a bit of ass every now & again helps too I guess.

I just keep out of trading & out of personal arguments & it seems to serve me well.

Bitcoin was created to be a open source away from the prying eyes of the government and banks. So when you see people policing a bitcoin forum I personally have to wonder if the one aspect that brings me to bitcoin is still valid.
Are we going to turn this forum into a nanny state where we hold your hand as long as you play ball or we going to go back to the roots?
If we need to coddle people to this extent then its game over and bitcoin will dance down the path till its 1984!
We either let people figure out how life is or you shut it down and establish group thinking and group thinking seems to be winning at the moment.
The whole idea you need to kiss ass, shows that some people have got to big for their own good and need to be brought down a peg. Never submit to some one in life because it is the easier path, you will always pay in some form.

Tl:dr Nothing ever changes, welcome to life.

Nothing will ever change, bitcoin cannot change anything. Bitcoin will be regulated more and more by governments until it is just like any other currency in the world.

This forum follows the same principles. The op cannot change that, you cannot change that, i cannot change that, or anyone else for that matter. Someone will get an idea of 'hey lets create a new forum where this won't happen' and they will be full of shit. It will start off that way but like everything else in the history of the world it will repeat itself becoming a never ending cycle of control. Those that say they can or it won't are disillusioned but will find out how life works before too long.

The human species thrives on control. We can complain and bitch until we're blue in the face but welcome to humanity. The only thing that can be done is to distance yourself from it as best as you can. But, like I mentioned above, this is impossible as everywhere you go it will always be the same.

WTF is so hard to understand? Just because bitcoin is an open-source decentralised network you think that nobody should hold anybody to account for their toxic behaviour?

So if your neighbour, who has just moved in and you know nothing about, pisses on your lawn and yells, "Freedom of choice, motherfuckers!!!" you don't think it is appropriate to inform your community that your new neighbour is a dirtbag who cares not for the society he is part of?

Freedom of choice is not freedom from the consequences of that choice.

This^

You people are recreating the wheel here again with Bitcoin, simply transplanting the old broken system you are used to into a new format totally ignoring its intent to be a p2p platform free from interference of 3rd parties. Criminals are doing crimes.

STOP THE PRESSES!

Do any of you really think your 3 stooges act trying to police this forum will really stop scammers? Criminals don't care about rules, they just get around them, therefore more rules only inhibits EVERYONE ELSE. Along with personal freedom comes personal responsibility. I am much in favor of people being free, even if it means they make mistakes and get robbed until they learn how to modify their own behavior to prevent this. Creating another class of enforcement overlords is NOT the solution and will only make the damage caused by these criminals grow EXPONENTIALLY faster.

Creating another class of enforcement overlords is NOT the solution and will only make the damage caused by these criminals grow EXPONENTIALLY faster.

so what solution do you suggest?

I think you have a reading comprehension problem.

On a side note, it is interesting this thread is suddenly in the "reputation" section where no one will ever read it. Just the staff burying dissent as usual. If they can't do it with their army of shills and brown nosers they do it by enforcing unwritten "rules".

Actually I said none of those things, and I personally have gone after actual proven scammers. The problem with the trust rangers around here is they have absolutely zero standards of evidence and demand users be the ones to prove themselves innocent rather than proving they are scammers. Guilty until proven innocent, now that has never been abused repeatedly throughout history now has it?

As far as your link, I am not sure that is exactly evidence against me as he continues to conduct himself in the same unprofessional and harassing manor before he "retired" multiple times after being pressured by Badbear to change his behavior.

okay now that we are on a different level lets talk. Looking at the DS now and compare it to the DS a few weeks ago, it was a success. Nobody is enforced to "trust" the ratings, join the actions or whatsoever. If we dont do anything, it wont get better. Thats the whole point. I am tired of people complaining about stuff but not doing anything.

The problem with your logic is that you ASSUME what your doing is ultimately helpful. Tagging people actually engaged in fraud is good. Rampaging thru the forum like the "Hardly Boys"  following raging clues and playing preemptive police force is not. In the end even tagged real or potential scammers simply need to buy a new account and can start again in seconds. Actual honest users caught up in it often lose years of effort building a reputation which is extremely difficult in the ocean of fraud known as Bitcointalk. This results in you driving away actual reputable users so you can play cops and robbers. So in the end, no you aren't really doing shit but harassing honest users, because the scammers could give a fuck less if you point them out, it costs them very little in comparison to what is taken from honest users with a destroyed reputation because they can not prove their innocence sufficiently to the mob.

well, looking at my feedbacks i dont see someone being tagged for something that can not be proven. all my reports contain evidence mosty admitted wrong doings by the OP. if you spot something that doesnt look correct, lets talk about it.

Don't even worry about the trust system anymore.

Here's the best tactic for everyone: use your best judgment. Never trust a newbie and use escrow. Basically the best advice I can give to anyone who actually pays attention to the trust system.

See people like whywefight, Lutpin, Cryptodevil and who ever else read CAREFULLY every single post and will twist your words to make you seem like a scammer and then will try and justify a negative. I am sure that in the past month negatives that have been sent have increased by like 1000%.

All these guys are doing is trying to seem like a really cool person so that they can get attention for themselves. Sad because it reminds me of high school. Honestly most people mature but some don't. Anyway they are in reality desensitizing the trust system become the Karl Marx of negatives and basically making no one trust the trust system.

So I hope they're happy that they ruined a perfectly good system and will get more people scammed in the long run.

You people are recreating the wheel here again with Bitcoin, simply transplanting the old broken system you are used to into a new format totally ignoring its intent to be a p2p platform free from interference of 3rd parties. Criminals are doing crimes.

What argument do you think you're making with that oft-used Straw-Man?

So, Bitcoin is a decentralised p2p network. Please explain how Bitcoin has anything to do with the dishonest practices demonstrated throughout a social forum community?

Let's just try, for shits and giggles, applying this absurd, "But, but, bitcoin safe from prying eyes so, you know, no consequences allowed!!!1!!1!!!1!1!" perspective.

"Hi I'm Mark Karpeles"
"Mark, I'm going to write an article about your dishonest behaviour so that everybody knows you are an untrustworthy scumbag"
"You can't do that"
"Why?
"Because Bitcoin is a decentralised p2p libertarian utopia. There should be no consequences for what I've done and if you tell people what I've done then that will result in me being held to account for my dishonesty so, you know, BITCOIN!!!!1!1!1!!!elebenty!!!!"!1"

^^^ That is the crux of your argument.

If you do something shady, i dont need to twist your words and i never did. Feel free to revies my feedbacks and bring up those who are wrong by your point of view. i am open to talk about it. No need to say this will never happen as people just cry about getting caught while fucking things up.

Looking at the sections, things getting better. I dont say what i do is the best way, at least it is one way. Feel free to join, argue with me or just step out of the way. Its your choice.

No, not really, that is the crux of your opinion of my argument. I have a hard time believing you even know what the definition of a straw man is. I explained in detail how the your actions affect this forum in your futile attempts at playing mall cop but I am sure you are unwilling or unable to read it. It is understandable though, after all going around the internet screaming "ACHTUNG YOUR PAPERS SCHNELL!" at people takes up a lot of your time and effort I am sure.

I never said it was about the "www". ^ This folks is an ACTUAL strawman argument for reference. Making a claim I never made then attributing it to me and then arguing against it as if I said it. BTW, you know German very well. You must have done this before.

Wow, TEC, you really are as fucking dumb as the rest of them. You argue against something being what it is the definition of, then cite the usual slippery-slope bullshit fallacy and then when somebody points out the flaw in your bullshit straw-man you go and redefine the definition of the term.

Is this the kind of person who should be on default trust?

Someone who can't even find a better word to use than fuck or bullshit?

People should be mature enough to get on the list. Hell, I'm not even mature enough to get on - I spew bullshit all the time. Seriously, he acts as if he's a newbie.
