Sounds like the new rules want to favor a single team (guess who , RB without a doubt) . They had great aerodynamics in the year 2016 and it was only because Mercedes had a higher power engine it was able to beat them through almost all season. Now with the wider bodies and tires if we add them to a team with great aerodynamics this translates into even better aerodynamics so I think RB is the team to watch out this season with these new rules.

Seems like it is on that. But i have some bad feeling about it and with this regulation  for new season.
I just hope RB wont be favored.

Red Bull will improve but it will not be a big improvement versus Mercedes. The advantage of the Mercedes power units is still very large. The only way to kill their engine advantage is for the FIA to scrap the hybrid V6 turbo and go back to the aspirated engines of the past.

I think it's stupid to run MotoGP and F1 at the same time ...
They should alternate every week, giving utmost importance to only one competition every time.

@thebatletbet. It is not official yet but we all know that Valteri Bottas will be the next Mercedes driver. An official announcement will come maybe before the end of January. Valteri is the perfect partner for Lewis. He is a decent driver, he follows orders and most importantly he has no ego.

That was in old days when there was less races now we have lot more and they even want to extend to add more races in calendar. Dont think is that bad but still you have one error in the list race in Assen is always in Saturday they dont work anything on Sundays i mean the Dutch.

It was first to be every week race one is F1 other is MOTOGP but the main people can maintain agreement in this so for now we have to look like this for quite some time.

I think that the FIA and DORNA should confront when they draw up calendars.

Bottas said he wants to make a great season and who want to start as soon as possible.
But, I think Hamilton will win easily the world of F1 next season.

Now only Manor don't have drivers for next season. But they have serious financial problems.

Nothing new in any of those news. We have all known about it a month ago. So it is really hard getting excited about it now. It would have been different if Mercedes decided to take Pascal Wehrlein. That would have been exciting news. I speculate that it was Lewis Hamilton who wanted a safe good enough driver than a young up and comer as a teammate.

It's unfortunate what happened to Fernando Alonso. He is the best talent on driving in years, but he got fucked after the Renault era. McClaren hated that he was better than Hamilton, then the cars started to suck. I would like to see Alonso run with a competitive car again, he could easily win another world prix. Also he is one of the few that started from the bottom and doesnt come from a rich family.

There is some value in the odds they gave Vettel from my point of view. I speculate that this will be a good year for Ferrari because of the new specifications for the cars this season. I know Mercedes still has the engine advantage but with the wider and larger cars the Ferrari engineers could make something of it. Formula 1 is not all about straight line speed, you know. Red Bull will also benefit from the new specifications but let us see. I still like the Vettel bet because it gives the most value.

It depends in the race. In some races, you are screwed if you don't have top straight line max speed. The long straight sectors in Spa are key, a lot of overtakes by the faster cars happen there. In other races like Monaco, is not as important etc.

More then wet races think that psychological influence of certain driver will be in hand here. Think that over these few years Marques become very good in both driving and mentally. But think that this year we might have Vinales as prime one think that he got everything talent skill and potential.

I hate when teams have a favorite and just make it hell for the other guy. They did this to Fernando Alonso in his McClaren era. It's clear they hated how Alonso was outshadowing Lewis Hamilton, so they started fucking him up with the car and with the tactics. They should have an open war and the best wins... I understand its a team but at the end of the day they should give all the guys a fair chance. I hope Bottas is competitive against Hamilton.

Max Verstappen has demonstrated in the past that if he has a good car he can be a top competitor. Of Course I wouldn't bet my money on Verstappen winning above Vettel but its a possibility.

Kimi Raikkonen is being underrated. He can outperform everyone if he has a good day and a good car.

Maybe the sportsbooks are expecting Ferrari to build a weak car again this year. I agree with those odds and it showed last season that Max can finish above Sebastian in points. The gap between them was so close it can be considered a virtual tie. But I am optimistic with Ferrari this year with the new specifications.
