i have some questions regarding the possible price of Lykke coins:
If I understand it correctly, the coins are attached/tied to Lykke shares. 100 coins represent one share of the Lykke Corp.
As the coin price is currently roughly around 0.05 $, that means a share of the company is 5$ ... so in return, if we would wish the price of a coin to reach 1$ it would mean the price for Lykke shares need to reach 100$, right? Isn't the current price already high regarding where the company is right now, or is that a realistic number? Am I missing something? Are the prices for shares and coins tied or can they develop independently? How does it work?

Last question first: Coins and shares are tied like you say - 100 LKK = 1 Company share. And of course, the price of 1 share is dependent on the price of the "Coin" which can be thought of like a combination of currency and share with all pro's of both but no con's in my opinion.

About the valuation: Unfortunately I don't remember it was said, maybe on slack: The valuation of the company was measured professional. They didn't chose it like "flipping coins" ;-) , but in the end the market will make the decision.


My own opinion bout it's valuation is: First I was critical about it myself, as an Investor (still readable on this thread), because I thought it may be too high. But the more I looked into it and compared it to other projects, the more I came to the opinion that it's fair, because of the great fundamentals and in comparison to other projects Lykke already has a lot to show, has pushed out an already working product and what also needs to be considered is the great team behind and what they are able to do not only on the development/coding-front but also the tons of experience they  have about all other aspects. Richard Olsen already founded a very successful company (https://www.oanda.com) and Lykke has even more potential.

And it's not only Richard Olsen, but also many others with deep expertise in their fields. There is much more happening behind the curtain than is visible and also more than I know (and can understand) personally. It's not easy to keep track, but safe to say is that it won't be boring. If we take a look only on the news of the last 2 months:

What I want to say with all that: I even believe Lykke is worth more than the current valuation, especially in comparison to other projects that are often only Coins or with tokens that don't necessarily need value. What I expect is that once Lykke is fully regulated in the USA and has implemented all the features to be attractive also for Forex-traders, it will become hard to ignore it. Even if hard to believe: Lykke has the potential to become the major player not only in the field of Crypto-exchanges.

thanks for the detailed answer tempus. the reasons why I got interested and invested, are the same reasons you just named. the team is incredible as far as I can see and I'm sure they have a significant chance in succeeding with their goals.

somehow, Lykke reminds me a bit of Factom (which u r invested yourself aswell as i reckon ) because they found a way to give their tokens more "meaning" - I'm sure you know what I'm tryin to say here. But unlike Factom, where a significant rise could easily happen within a year, I believe that Lykkes approach, turns it into something far more longterm und maybe even more unlikely for Lykke shares to reach something like 250$ ... making a coin 2.5$ as Factom is roughly about. Are the Lykke shares supposed to be traded on regular stockexchanges or will their price always be determined by the coinprice?

Yes, the comparison with Factom is an interesting one! Not that much because of the use-case but I also believe to see some similarities. When I've found Factom it was totally under the radar, nobody seemed to care about (speaking especially of Oct-Dec 2015). But those who looked a deeper already could see the potential and how professional the team is. What's also kind of similar: Both projects are a very good combination of business but also idealism. And both are very good in lowering the barriers for potential customers/users.

Regarding future price-potential and how fast the price can develop, I believe both projects are in a different situation, mainly because of one point: Factom is more a background-system and also it's customers are not that much guys like we are. That may change with applications on top of factom "for everybody", but Factom itself will always stay a system running in the background.

Lykke has much more potential to get a lot of attention, to go viral, and I have no doubt that will happen. Right now the project is somehow between already usable and also already userfriendly on one side but not very known on the other - and regulations in the USA are yet to come and a lot of features plus desktop interface etc. But over the next 6-12 months there will be big releases and endless improvements. At one point I expect a real user-explosion. And that would also drive the LKK-price because in the end it could turn out as a much better investment and store of value than Bitcoin for example.

If Lykke-shares will be traded on stock-exchanges is an interesting question. I don't know tbh. Could be possible somewhere in the future. But since 100 Lykke-Coins entitle to claim Lykke-shares the prices will always be related. And maybe we will see a future first that regular stock-exchanges also run on blockchains. I believe that will happen in the next few years.

Right now there is no other way to buy LKK somewhere else. It needs the App that can be downloaded here: https://www.lykke.com

And yes, once the Company makes profit there will be decisions if to reinvest or to pay dividends or both. I don't know when that will become actual but some expect Lykke to become profitable in 2018. In what currencies dividends will be paid out I don't know. Possibilities would be pretty much endless since nearly all currencies will be available and dividends would be paid out over the blockchain.

Yes, price was 0.05 CHF. But Lykke's business-model is not trading fee - they follow a zero-fee-policy. Lykke acts as marketmaker and will also be a platform to do ICO's and so on.

Regarding the LKK-price: I believe it's kind of a paradox situation, because the increasing Bitcoin-price leads to increasing attention on the whole space. That's helpful. At the same time Lykke needs to meet some important Milestones and will do that without doubt, but it's early. The real show will start once Lykke is fully regulated in the USA, and once some releases are pushed out Lykke-Coders are currently working on, like...

* Margin trading 
* Regulated retail FX 
* Offchain settlement scalable to 100’000+ transactions per second 
* Ethereum support: multisig wallets, interblockchain atomic swaps 
* Payment system provider 

...and there will be more. All together will make Lykke much more attractive, also for the usual Forex-sector and that will boost the volume and will have impact on the LKK-price. People "only" need to understand that it's not an Altcoin but the representation of company-shares. Over the last months LKK was suppressed like nearly all Altcoins because of the rising Bitcoin-price. I expect that will change over this year. LKK could start to fly once Lykke gets more attention what will happen without doubt.

Yes, I was really surprised to see it that high. Today it's not that high, but the real show will start once Lykke is fully regulated, ready to welcome the forex-guys and to do ICO's etc. 2017 will be an exciting year and absolutely not boring - promise! ;-)
