At current stage electric cars are not very usable, because they need serious electric power for each day driving. Not many people like them in fact. So in nearest future electrical cars will not make competition.

Yes they are, and oil industry is only reason why we still drive cars on fossil fuels. This is why capitalism is bad, because cooperative interest can damage progress if he is not in their interest. But this is world we living. Same story as inquisition did it to science.

oil is not used only for cars all of industry is needed oil, electric cars isn't will give big impact to oil price. but this is good innovation to solve the problem of global warming.

Oil companies are energy companies. All of them have already invested large sums in renewables or other energies. I'm not worrying for them. They'll survive when all oil reserves will be depleted.

Indeed, the electric cars are only a low percentage and the fact is that the oil industry will not get destroyed a lot of things ar running on oil. Whole factory's are running on oil so no it will not be a big problem.

So. Electric cars are gaining in popularity, therefore the popularity of gasoline will be going down. Won't the price go down, leaving the oil industry in trouble?
Yes, electric cars are bad for oil industry because plastic and cars fuels uses most of oil, and since electric cars don't use fuel, nobody will need oil, price of oil will fall down really fast

well it might be bad in the future when there will be mainly only electric cars but nowadays most of them are still fuel powered so thats not a big problem Title.

Yes, electric cars are bad for oil industry because plastic and cars fuels uses most of oil, and since electric cars don't use fuel, nobody will need oil, price of oil will fall down really fast but now it surely has no significant impact as there is only a small part of cars that dont use fuel

It will not get a big problem in the future for the oil industry because the factory's where this cars are made need the oil for it, almost for everything there is oil needed. Oil will always be needed in the word I have no doubts about that.

So in nearest future electrical cars will not make competition. If anything its more expensive to own a electric car. And like you mentioned its really not that efficient, esp when someone goes into their 30,000 mile check and they have to replace a $5k battery.

No I do not think it will be bad but its not to say because I must say a lot of cars are using oil of course so its difficult to say. Maybe it will be a bit bad but the fact is also that factories and other things still need it so...

You will see that there are few shorter term alternatives to fossil fuels and that it is a very complex issue. Electricity from where? Hydro - fully developed Wind-environmentally bad and uneconomic Solar- Good possibility but has environmental negatives as well and the feedstock of the technology is all in unstable global governments Tidal- Very expensive and unproven Nuclear-very expensive with huge national security, environmental and waste storage issues
It will take a blend of things to meet future energy needs. No two sources will suffice outside of and including fossil fuels

Oil is here to stay for a long time. There are billions of cars in the World and electric cars has no significant amount right now. In the next 20 years we see oil stays strong, after that oil supply will be lower so price never reduce at the end.

But to actually implement those in cars thats another level of problem. If we had all those different alternative energy there is no such thing as a "wind powered" car. Youre talking about different fossil fuels, but this is about cars.

electric cars will only go as far as the auto industry allows, we could be in driverless, electric cars provided by the state if certain organizations allowed it...
theres too much money in auto and oil, it will probably never go away.

Of course they are, oil is going nowhere in the long run.
Yeah in the long run it is going to hurt the oil industry. The more electric cars are build the more it is going to hurt the oil industry. It is not hurting the oil industry that bad right now, but in the future that will change.

Yeah in the long run it is going to hurt the oil industry. The more electric cars are build the more it is going to hurt the oil industry. It is not hurting the oil industry that bad right now, but in the future that will change. Right now it doesnt hurt that much as there are still a lot of cars that are running with oil and electric cars cant out run a car powered by oil and thats what most people are looking for fast cars.

It means a centralization of conversion of fossil fuel into energy. Rather than millions of gasoline powered vehicles, some of the same fossil fuel (perhaps more of it) would have to go into generators that produce electricity for the electric cars. We convert energy more times this way, though from fossil to motion, motion to electricity and electricity to motion again. The way cars work today, fossil fuels is converted into motion for the most part, with some going to an alternator to charge a 12 V battery. Each time energy is converted there is a loss due to inefficiency. It would not necessarily require less fossil fuel.
There are related issues with public transport. Suddenly people are unable to get to work because the subway workers go on strike. One should never rely on trains, subways or buses for getting to work.
