Are electric cars bad for the oil industry?

I think no, electric cars is not so popular now, and they have not huge impact on oil industry nowdays. I think in 10 years this question will be much important.

yeah i think so , not all people are using electric cars because its power is not enough to take a long distance travel than the oil vehicle . you need to recharge it and it took so much time to be sure that it will operate last longer . and yes they don't have a huge impact in oil industry they still have a high demand on market .

Electric cars is good for our world and economy i think more new inventions will release as soon as possible.

If that will happen we can live a world with free of pollution, I like that idea of using electric cars and I think the expenses will be lesser compared to using the oils to run our cars.

I think pollution is not only coming from the vehicle that is worked by the oil fuel , we can't get a world that is free from pollution if there's a company or a factory that is continously not recycling or disposing their wasted chemicals through our bodies of water like river, lake or etc. Pollution is in everywhere not only on air . we still don't realized that technology is slightly killing our planet and it's funny disturbing  .

Well it will not be very good but I think the factory's would still need the oil and for some parts it always be needed even in electrical cars so I think it will not be so bad like everyone is thinking.

Yeah but when the mojarity of the people is going to go over to electric cars then I am sure that the oil industry is going to take a hit there. It is true that there is still oil needed for other things.

I like the idea of electric cars because I am an advocate of a free pollution world and I can witness that in my country that the pollution brought by the cars using oils are really alarming, I wish our government will support that idea and help finance the businessman convert their jeepneys into electric jeepneys.

What if the electric cars cause more pollution when compared to the gas-driven ones? The manufacturing of Lithium batteries results in huge quantities of leftover chemicals. Apart from that, coal is the most popular source for electricity right now. And everyone knows that coal is much more polluting than gasoline. Air pollution from coal-powered plants results in 400,000 deaths per year in China alone.

CNG / LPG is the ideal alternative for gasoline. Not electricity.

Its pretty obvious, isnt it? If electric cars gain more popularity and alot of people start to use them petroleum cars would go down hard. Mainly because of their long list of harmful effects on nature and other things and the high cost of petrol and tons of other things....

Very sure with that because automobile industry is the biggest  user of oil in this industry and really if that happen well its economy breakdown for all players and maybe they will het bankrupt since they will lose big percentage of their income for losing automobile sector, and maybe it can affect the trades in the world since those oil relying countries maybe lose big income with this.

green energy should be the winner in the end, so why i should care about gasoline? it's getting to expensive anyway, i'm not even using a car anymore because of that, and i cna plan to return when i will be able to by a good electric car

I agree, electric cars are more environmental friendly because there is no pollution in using it. With electric cars in our surroundings we can experience a better community and our life expectancy will prolong.

I hope in the near future it will happen as it would benefit a lot of people that using oil that would only benefits are the giants in the industry.
