Are electric cars bad for the oil industry?

Electric cars are surely bad for oil industry but it is beneficial for our environment. And environment is what we all need. People may leave their cars but they can't leave breathing.

Electric cars are usually non polluting in nature and hence it is a very welcoming step for human civilization. The efficiency will be increased in future but pollution will be less.

In the Long run we are all dead. I don't believe that our Generations will actually witness the end of the oil era.

Just look at the shale gas industry which developed over the last 10 years. As Technology advances there will always be new ways to extract oil from this world. Only time will tell.

Electric cars for sure are bad for the oil industry but they are very good for our own pockets. I spend at least 250 Euro of gasoline  a month just for going to work and turning back home. In this 250 Euro is not added my other movements which I move with my family and relatives. 250 Euro is worth almost 0.40 bitcoin and I would love to have this amount added to my wallets every month just because of electric cars. I believe in ten years from now electric cars will be the main way of transportation. Some Chinese companies and Hyundai have already produced electric buses. In Goteborg they are trying to add electric buses almost in the entire city. Electric cars and vehicles are good for our own pockets.

To all those saying electric cars are bad for the oil industries, NO YOU are WRONG! Oil industries will profit with the rise of electric cars. Yes! Since they will be saving a lot of electricity, machines and labour on petrol and natural gases and can invest those in actual edible oil and household oil. The price they get for petrol and diesel, its transport, its maintenance, the losses incurred is a lot compared to the same money if invested in edible Oil. The price of oil is almost 1.5x of petrol and 2x of diesel. S, yes they will profit. They can't just stop producing Petroleum products only for other companies to raise the price, so they are unable to move forward, but with EC, they can!

Yup i think this will depend on how electric cars and heavy vehicle will perform against vehicles that runs using petrol products Its all upto price cost and comparison among both. But for me if they can perfect  elecric vehicles . it will not only threaten oil industry it will also help lessen pollution.

but there is a very improvement to the electric cars which will make it not stupid, and that is the solar electric cars, with that we will not need to stop our cars if we need to recharge but it will be recharged automatically with solar and so we will get a free fuel for our cars.

Currently vremyani, electric cars are not competitive vehicles with a combustion engine. Of course, in the city, electric can in the near future, quite usual for us to displace petrol and diesel cars. Although electric cars are gaining popularity and even if it will be widely used compared to gasoline powered vehicles I don't think it will have a major effect on gas prices as oil is not only used to power car engines but other machinery as well. Yes it will affect the price in a short while but the oil producer's next move will be declaring that there is an oversupply of oil and their next step will be freezing the production which will increase its price again which the have done in the past.

well i also think like that, if electric car is going to popular. then, the oil company will go down. but, the impact is not that big i think. because like 90% of car in this world is still using oil/ gasoline/ or sort of that fuel. that's what i thought. #CMIIW
