Are electric cars bad for the oil industry?

Cars that are run by electricity were discovered a long time ago and was just sabotaged by this oil owners and even water can be used to run cars so they know that it will affect oil industry if this will continue and I know that they are still doing their wicked schemes secretly.

I will completely disagree with your point, and I have my reasons for that. First thing I want to say is that water has no such power to make a car run because it is against the basic rule of law of conservation of energy. Secondly the oil industry has no threat because of electric cars because the same oil will be used to make sufficient electricity to charge these cars. So oil industry has a win win situation in any of the scenario.

Oil will not play a large part of energy generation for electric cars. As it is right now, oil hardly generates any electricity in the US; only 0.6% of all generation. 34% comes from natural gas, another 30% from coal, 20% from nuclear, and 15% from renewables. Oil is not a factor for electricity generation, and will not become one. The fastest growing segment is solar. When cars go electric, oil will lose a very large consumption factor and there will be nothing to replace it.

Not only electric cars are gaining popularity, any kind of electric vehicle is in demand. Yes for sure it is bad for the oil industry but let us just think that it is good to lessen air polution.

In my opinion,  yes it is. Electric cars can affect the oil industries. Because one of the top consumers of oil are the cars. If the oil based cars will be replaced by electric cars the demand on oils will go down which means the oil industry will not be needed anymore for the cars.

it seems like oil entrepreneurs are very scared if there is an electric car that only needs electricity to fuel the car, and that could make oil companies go bankrupt because the oil they have can be priceless anymore.

Due to the minds of people our world is really upgrading and now we are now using an electric car but then again I believe that oil will still be usable because many of us prefer to use oil in their vehicles. Electric car and gasoline would be balance because we can preserve the natural resources of this earth such as the oil.

If all cars are electric car, i think it can affect the oil industry because no one will go to them to get gasoline their car. But i think it will took many many years before it will happen.

Yes, obviously it would be bad for the oil industry. However, the number of users is sill very limited nowadays since the production itself is very expensive, yet still a threat, nonetheless. Also, the people behind petrol/oil industry would not give in without a fight. I think they already have a contingency plan in case the hype breaks out. It would also have an adverse effect on the economy somehow for we have using oil for the longest time.

No electric cars are helping us improve our environment, it makes our lives better, though it hinders the growth of the Oil-Gas industry. But it still positively affects our lives and the Oil-Gas is not eternal.

Who cares about the oil gas industry which are heavily monopolized if we have an alternative solution.Electric automobiles are the future and the oil based pollution must stop and i hope within ten years we will have some changes on how we see things.

Yes it is bad for the oil industry. Imagine if electric vehicles are now fully implemented, a massive drop in oil demand will occur. But also, what could happen is a significant increase in electricity charges. Now this is one possibly bad effect of the electric car project.

of course, people will seek alternative sources of energy, but at the same time, the government of the state, as well as young people, will still use oil to make money. but nevertheless at the same time there will exist, which is no longer happening, the internal combustion engines of the electric motor on different kinds of cars.

Yes, we're going to run out of oil in a few decades, but talking about now they have too much power, and lowering the price won't cripple them one bit. With oil comes power, the power to cripple countries, and the point of that is that they won't lose to electric that easily.

yes of course.....electric cars are really bad for the oil industry,but it is good for the human who have an electric car,but if all people have this car the oil company will bangcrop they will never sale an oil so it is so bad .

I am quite sure we will run out of oil faster than the decrease in the demand.

PEople have talked about electrical cars for many years, but the fact is still that only a small percentage of cars are electrical. The oil supplies are not limitless, and we use oil for a lot of other things.

It'll never hurt the oil industry since even if electric cars are adopted in lots of countries , it won't reach or even be an opponent of match to oil consuming cars to actually hurt the industry . Actually electric cars cost more in price and in consumption so people will always prefer oil cars unless they care about nature and bio environment and all of that . But what i know now that lots of cars are hybrids , it means they  got an electric engine and an oil one , the car will start with the electric one which will reduce consumption (which is at peak when starting a car and going with 1st gear ) and gets charged whenever using brakes . So oil industry won't really get hurt in the next 100 years at least .

yes of course.....electric cars are really bad for the oil industry,but it is good for the human who have an electric car,but if all people have this car the oil company will bangcrop they will never sale an oil so it is so bad .

(LoL) I guess so but probably it might be happen if all people will switch into electric car and forget the  old way of living. But according to my observation on my surroundings that even a new tech. already exist in our industry, I mean about electric cars,  it's still many peoplle using gas or petroleum which it seem they are much comfortable to used it for their everyday ride and go somewhere.

In my opinion, electric cars is not totally bad in the oil industry because I didn’t think so that electric cars use around world. And In fact that there’s a lot of uses of oil not only cars.
