Are electric cars bad for the oil industry?

So. Electric cars are gaining in popularity, therefore the popularity of gasoline will be going down. Won't the price go down, leaving the oil industry in trouble?

I don't think so. Electric cars are the only solution if there is a limited supply of gasoline. It is also a government project for a clean and green wherein the community is free from the dust and oil produces with cars using gasoline. But come to think of it, electric cars have a specific limitations. Sometimes it will stuck because it has a low battery or maybe the speed is affected depending how it is charged. The decision remains at the end user, I think.

Why do we care for oil industry. Oil industry have been killing the environment for last century. Electric cars might be a really good alternative. Because there are very green solutipons to generate electricity. such as solar, wind energies.

It seems to look that way, But, if that happens, the oil industry would find its way to survive. We all know that this global market is being manage by the world powers, they are the one who monopolized the oil trade globally. Do you think that they will allow this electric cars to jeopardized one of their biggest earnings? Moreover, the conversion of overall use of renewable energy will not be done overnight. This marketing leaders that control the oil trade worldwide will find its way to counter the effects of modernization.

I think that in the next few years electric cars will not be as popular as fuel powered cars because we can still mine those fossil fuels but supply are reaching scarcity. And as far as I know, there are still methods of producing electricity derived from fuels also (so oil industry will never go bankrupt). For now, let the fuel reign in the realm of automotive industry. Who knows after all the oil rigs dry out, electric cars will be famous.

This is the first time I've heard this, I will do research on this one, you mean they are recycling some kind of fuels?
I think they will go bankrupt if there is nothing to mine. Experts have said that the fuel mining will last for only a 100 years, and that's a very short time, but a long time for innovations of the electric cars. They won't destroy Syria and kill millions, if they are not desperate enough to get an oil mine.

We can say it is a threat. Hybrid cars are now essential for a cleaner environment. Since we are now suffering from a major Global warming and one of the cause is car pollution. Then we should now switch to an eco-friendly vehicle that will help us lessen air pollution. I don't know if we do have now a pure electric power vehicle, but if that will happen then oil industry will drop.

I think electrics cars does not have a very big impact on oil industry because the volume of electric cars around the world is not that high.

Well what's good and what's bad? I'm sure it will reduce profits, but it might make the oil industry focus on better things. They can focus on sustainable plastics, using oil for other purposes and maybe even find a way to store energy into oil for easy transportation.  Who knows what technology will bring.

If electric cars are used extensively throughout the world, the oil industry will be threatened, their benefits will fall sharply, even bankrupt but this is a case where I think the possibility that it may come true is not high. Because the cost of producing an electric car is very expensive, and from there, we also do not have enough money to buy, in addition, the infrastructure is still not good for electric cars, the speed of the car is still quite slow and very inconvenient, that makes the threat of electric cars for the oil industry is very low

I dont think so , they are not replacing fueled car they just lessen the used of it because the air is going to be so poluted that it can give people some problem with their health especially the people with asthma . They just want to save the environment and to preserve the fresh air , do you imagine how poluted the air was ? Electric cars are a good solution for our ecology, since fuel-fueled cars are very polluting nature. In my opinion, electronic cars should use alternative electricity, because we need to take care of our future environment.

I've been driving electric cars for years and love them - they are the future. I'd never go back to a fossil car.
