It is the same with AMD R9 390. It can run at 1000 MHz, but when it starts, it needs 990 MHz. Any reason for that?

In my opinion it's because of voltage ripple of VRM when GPU is changing power state.

Been playing around with a stack of new nanos i got question for you Eliovp

great work by the way on the nano roms , I dont mind losing a few hashes to save almost 500 watts per rig lol

what is the difference between the -125 , -175 and -200 roms power ussage wise ?

I dont see much difference in hash rate at all basically none , and power usage going from the -175 to the -200 was not noticable ?

I know you said temps are better but temps seem the same to me.

thanks

Hey Marvel1,

Thx, me neither, the energy was more important for me Smiley

The difference is basically only the supplied voltage for the memory.

So no, you won't see a lot of difference, but a little none the less.

Don't know if you tried already, but now that you're using stock -100mV core, you can still go lower, i have a lot of cards that are running for months @ -125mV and )112mV. There are a few that can't handle this that are @ -106mV.

That'll bring down your power usage down even more!

If you set your memory (as it is in the rom) to 300, the difference won't be large, but if you use stock memory (500), the card will stay a lot cooler and a lot more energy efficient. Although that i doubt that your cards can handle -175mV MVDDC  when your memclock is at 500. (mine won't stay stable.)

Greetings!

I use 6 R9 nano, not attaching to the monitor. The dispplay will come "mobile display", the resolution is just 640*480, how can we make it display normally?

No i don't Smiley

I have a few, but for my nano rigs i would need HDMI dummy plugs, and i find them to expensive to buy 20 of those just to have a larger screen :p

Had the same problem on my remote RIG using Windows 7 and Teamviewer.
After unmarking "show compatible hardware" I´d selected a standard VGA display driver (1280x1024) manually, since then I get this resolution although no TFT is connected to the card.

Open Device Manager
Expand the "Monitors" list, right-click on the "Plug and Play Monitor" (or whatever here is listed) and then select "Update Driver Software"
Click "Browse my computer for driver software"
Click the "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Unmark "show compatible hardware"
at standard display drivers (left, 1st position) select a driver with the desired resolution (right)
thats all.

I have a question...

I run my Nano's at -96mv In afterburner with a -25% Power Limit. (55.3MH for the pair) Whole rig with i7-3770k (330Watts from the wall)

Core and Mem @ 1020/500

However....

When I Flash the cards to 800/300... -100mv

I cant over clock the core to 1000 without it crashing....

Not sure what else I could try?

just got my Sapphire R9 Nano today...

before I begin the mod, just curious what's the best OC and undervolting settings at stock before modding?

I want to set that as baseline to compare performance before modding.

Thanks!

That means you need to use higher memory voltage BIOS, like the -100mV instead of -150 mV for the memory voltage

I have a few R9 nano can only work with th e-100mV memory undervolt BIOS. It will crash the computer if I use -150mV.

Ive been having this problem too, from what i have tested on stock ROM with afterburner - voltage -100mv and a power limit of like 5-10% will run the cards at 1000mhz stock. They get throttled hard by running hot though. The cooler you can keep them the faster they will be able to run. My cards this way use 950 watts on corsair Link. Has speed on cards varies, because they are getting hot between 62C-70C. Cool ones run 28mh, hot ones 23-25mh/s.

I've messed with flashing quite a bit. I have not been able to get a 1000mhz clock. I have 5 XFX nanos/H81 BTC pro/ax1500i PSU/i5/windows 8.1/Powered USB risers and 1 card on the board. I flashed with the mildest ROM, I think the -100mV.ROM. If in afterburner i put voltage at +50 and power limit at +25% I can get the cards to run at like 920Mhz. Any more than that and the screen lags and I get black screen flashes until the whole thing crashes. Im running 16.1 drivers. This is running with a monitor attached, but not turned on. IIve been using google chrome remote desktop. If I try to do it powering a monitor it will crash out at like 815mhz instead of 915. I turned all appearance settings to performance in control panel. Running like this im using I think 600-650 watts and getting 27Mh/s on each card from them running cooler.

Also, at first I thought my cards werent working. If I would reboot, it would post and then hang on a black screen for like 1 minute. I always reset thinking it was froze. Instead I accidentally left it and it finally opened windows. I think the new roms must not feature fast boot.

Maybe we need like a -50Mv core volt, 1000mhz core, or maybe a 400mhz memory? I'm not up to speed on all of it though  Tongue

I have a "Adapter not found" error message, after attempting "atiflash -p -f 0 DPM-100mV.rom" at command prompt.
But in device manager, both of the Nanos are present. The first Nano is on the 16x slot without riser, and the second one on PCI-USB riser on slot 0. My environment is W8.1, Asrock H81 BTC board, Celeron 1840 and 8GB RAM. Any advise?

Citronick.

Try atiflash -i or -ai and make sure the devices are being listed at the dos prompt.. your command line looks correct.  no it is wrong my bad

a -f -p 0 DPM-100mV.rom

first run the command above making sure you assign the right slot with the -p command.. its either going to be slot 1 or 0

Best Regards
