Ways on how to get the password of a user or of an account :

Dictionary Attacks
Bruteforce
Keylogger
Cookies of your websites and etc

So becareful of what your doing, Click at your own risk !

don't make me laugh dictionary attacks and brute force ,are you serious. it will take ages to get into, even with a super computer if you have a good password and everyone does use a strong pass for sure, the other two .keylogger ,malware and cookie hijacks are a reality and it is the easiest way to get into anyone's privacy  Wink

Youd be surprised how many set no password at all. I dont think everyone uses a strong password and some wallets are badly defended against brute force attacks as well.

yes, in fact someone broke my pass on gmail, and i can assure you that it was a strong password with plenty of different characters and upper case etc, i'm lucky that i have the 2fa

so is definitely possible to brute force a password

That hacker sees you got good background that is why he did it even if it takes too much time. Brute force takes like a day or two before gettig a password. That is a hell of a patience for that asshead hacker.

all i know is that during the night the code was sent to my phone, so that is someone typing the correct pass

it seems that by typing my old hacked password(12 characters) here https://howsecureismypassword.net/, it say that it require only 485 thousand years, well it was not that strong after all,

I think that would be a keylogger code. That is why I am also careful in some computer renting shops. You dont know what applications are hidden in that computer and rental shops like here in our place limits your access so it will really give you a hard time.

Good thing wallet sites have an email notification once your account is logged in. You just have to be fast enough to change the password.

That is one more help "Don't turn off the email notifications of your wallets".

Oh maybe you are a good hacker or a creator of that kind of application so you can make it fast.
That is my experience to the bruteforce that I got and it is an android application.
Maybe that app is the BULLSHIT! but not me.

Oh! and I am sorry I am not a hacker.
Doesn't matter if it's a good or bad hacker, it is bullshit. Brute-force methods are ineffective as soon as you pass a certain number of characters (usually very low) and use a combination of letters [A, z], numbers and symbols. It doesn't matter if you throw all the computers of the world are the problem, you will most likely not be able to crack it in a reasonable amount of time. Don't spread nonsense.

I agree on "Don't turn off the email notifications of your wallets".
Step 1) Don't use web wallets in the first place.

Just come it to my mind. is it possible? to get hook into your wallet and send some to another wallet? Undecided

I don't know if you have seen but last months i have seen that many people were infected by a virus or malware which when people wanted to make a transaction the pasted address was always the hackers address so people were sending accidentally money to the hacker.

Well its the first time i see someone talking about some malware virus that affects the adress where we wanna to send the bitcoins, besides those i believe currently there is no way to hack bitcoin, since the hash protects the network.

Well only smart hackers did/do this and it had affected lots of people because it's hard to remember the address especially when you paste it directly when making transactions. That's why it is important to run your bitcoin client in a safe environment.

Online or offline wallet are not that easy to hack as each and every wallet has its unique features which allows hackers to stay away from your hard earned coins.

Yeah agree with you. with email notifications you can know if there is something like a withdraw request that you do not do. so you can directly do cancel and change the password.
if you can you can add a notification to the cell.

Of course it is possible, and that is why all bitcoin wallets are permanently trying to improve their security measures, trying to minimize this risk. Of course we also need to take all the precautionary measures to avoid this contingency.

Email verification can be easily bypassed if the hacker have an access to your email and i'm sure those hacker get your wallet ID from your email, sms verification is really reccommended

Most of the time, the only way you can get your Bitcoin hacked is if:

A. You occupy the same address too many times.
B. You have tied personal info with it.
C. You don't occupy some type of antivirus/malware/malicious adware software.
I think using one bitcoin address or same bitcoin address for every bitcoin transactions will not make your bitcoin stolen. unless you do things like download at the links are not in the know. it may contain malware or you fill in the data and password in phishing site. where the password was the same as the password of wallet
it is often the case and make a lot of people lose their bitcoin because stolen

The chances that your desktop gets hacked in comparison to a web wallet are much lower. You would have to either: 1) Attract attention somehow; 2) Do something dumb, e.g. click on suspicious link.

Of course it is possible, and that is why all bitcoin wallets are permanently trying to improve their security measures, trying to minimize this risk.
It is not possible to 'hack Bitcoin from your wallet'. This would imply that the Bitcoin software itself is flawed, which it isn't. Hacking the desktop that has Bitcoin on it, is something else (this is possible).

I think using one bitcoin address or same bitcoin address for every bitcoin transactions will not make your bitcoin stolen.
Exactly. There is no correlation with the number of times that you've used an address and the likelihood of getting hacked.

Online wallet quite vulnerable for being hack as some people may send you malware from clicking some link.
So just beware to not click any suspicious link that being sent from new guy that you just know it first time.

People only need to click on a certain link to get their computer infected. And in some cases they don't even notice that a virus has been installed on their computer.

That's a common way how people see their coins get stolen from their unprotected wallets. That's the hard reality nowadays.

Desktop wallet can be hacked too, did you know that
There has been many case of people clicking on some random links from the internet, and Bam
The hacker just infected your PC and probably a keylogger is installed there

So Desktop wallet has the same risks as you would have on your online accounts

I believe the truly safest wallet is Hardware wallet, they can't be installed with virus as keyloggers Wink
But hey, just my opinions
