I don't have any problem using Paypal, actually I prefer paying with Paypal and avoid any other payment method, even one time CC cards, it's much harder or impossible to get your money back when there's a problem if you use any method other than Paypal.

And I don't see a lack of places accepting Paypal, it's probably the most used payment processor worldwide except China.

Let's be honest, there is a small repulsion from the btc community towards btc Paypal because of the refunds,...
You mean this, right?

I use paypal to buy on Ebay. I would use something else if I could, but Ebay and Paypal do not have much competition.

I think it is a mistake to make a comparison between Paypal and Bitcoin. We are doin that because Bitcoin can be used as a payment method just like paypal. However, there is an important thing to remember, Bitcoin is a lot more than just a payment method. Paypal might be offering users more than Bitcoin does, that doesn`t make Paypal better. One can use Bitcoin as an investment, trading, perhaps even saving but it is not possible to do that with paypal. Paypal is simply a safe payment method. Usually very expensive one. We should be able to see the difference.

Let's be honest, there is a small repulsion from the btc community towards btc because of the refunds,... But, let's be honest a second time, Paypal is just an easy way to pay with online. But I'm having trouble finding some decent markets/sites/services that still accepts paypal.

So yea, my question: where do you guys still use paypal nowadays?

Only once in the last few years have I not been able to pay with PayPal online. The place that doesn't accept it accepts card so no problem there.

I don't know what type of sites/services you're referring to but I don't think PayPal adoption by merchants is slowing down at all. Bitcoin is great as an alternative/experimental payment method but I don't think any mainstream site will even consider accepting only Bitcoins. There are certainly plenty of other payment processors besides PayPal but none of those have market share anywhere close to that of PayPal.
Yeah, paypal has firmed their roots on a vast area on online transactions besides there are a number of good payment systems online available, but now a time will come when some bitcoin accepting markets become more famous then bitcoin will be introduced to everyone, and then is a chance that every site adopt bitcoin system.

Accepting paypal as a merchant can be a risky business, depending what you are selling of course and to where you are sending.  There is just so many hacked accounts out there, you only have to spend about 2 minutes on deep web to find hundreds of hacked accounts for sale.  From a buyers perspective it is pretty bullet proof.

I would much prefer to do all my dealings with bitcoin rather than paypal. Especially for selling items, Some people just abuse paypals sytem for getting cash back.

I think eBay and PayPal go together like peanut butter & jelly.... and that is about the only place where PayPal is still applicable. We are not in the business here {on this forum} to promote PayPal,

so let's stick to the reason this forum was created and leave other older and outdated payment methods to do their own promotions. Those centralized services with their rules and

regulations and banning or disabling of accounts for stupid reasons, should have been replaced a long time ago. Let's hope Bitcoin & OpenBazaar will have that same success in future.

I prefer to pay with my PayPal account for online stuff than to reveal my debit card details to the websites as with PayPal I am just giving the merchants an email account and my data is safe. Fortunately my country is in a good standing with PayPal so I haven't had any problems since I opened my first account with them more than 10 years ago. Even though I am doing a great share of my online shopping with Bitcoin PayPal is more convenient than debit cards where Bitcoin isn't accepted.

Some people have stopped accepting PayPal because it takes 6 months to confirm a transaction - welcome to New Money - PayPal's SnailCoin. Smiley

I've been using Paypal for years and years and never have I had a transaction take longer than 1-2 minutes to show up ready to be spent in my account. Way faster than BTC will ever be.

Paypal is one of the great to pay or to buy online shopping because most of stores online are accepting paypal as payment unlike bitcoin.
But bitcoin will gradually more stores are accepting someday ebay and amazon will accept bitcoin as payment..

Big companies such as Google, Amazon or Steam don't accept paypal anymore.

People can still purchase apps and digital content on Google Play using Paypal payment method from their Google account.

But only depends on the supported country and my country is not listed there lol.
