Their blog now says the official snapshot has been taken. Let's hope that support rep was just misinformed on poloniex, they are pretty swamped there. Not surprised price is crashing, if millions more lumens get distributed have to expect a short run price drop. Hopefully, it will enhance the long term value proposition of the coin.

So the circulating supply of 9.7 billion lumens will now balloon to 25.7 billion lumens. Assuming the price stays the same, the market cap will skyrocket from $270 million to nearly $1 billion, putting itself at a ridiculous position of #9 in the global crypto market cap list with a huge gap against BitShares at #10. Lumens will need to correct to a price of about 0.00000300 BTC per lumen in order to retain a realistic market cap. This begs the question. Why the hell is anyone buying this coin right now? Should this be an obvious short sale?

what's wrong? XRP is 3rd in marketcap, and str is better than xrp

Poloniex says that they never agreed to participate in the giveaway. That's quite shitty as I'm sure many people deposited bitcoin or refrained from withdrawing with the understanding that Poloniex would participate, now those people will be unable to use that bitcoin to claim Lumens. The question is, will Poloniex claim the Lumens or will it just go to the organization? This mistake may lead to the organization earning a significantly larger share of the giveaway, maybe it wasn't such an accident? Maybe Poloniex or the Stellar Organization will find a way to reconcile this? https://twitter.com/Poloniex/status/879511304075083781

That really sucks but maybe they will figure out they can still GET the Stellar for the giveaway and then distribute it, but I imagine that would require them having a snapshot of all their user balances at that time. Hopefully someone from Stellar will post and explain this budding debacle for those of us silly enough to believe their blog!

I withheld quite a bit from lending and spent a lot of time and fees shifting funds from alts to BTC and sending to Polo. Costs and lost loan opportunities to the tune of several hundred dollars. I hope they make it right. How did Polo get on the list if they said they were not participating? I'm pretty sure they were involved with the first distribution from Stellar as I seem to recall getting STR in my Polo account back then from it.

XLM now at 0.00001242 BTC (-7.49%) Will this continue downwards? How long does it take for XLM to rise back up again? A month maybe?
it will continuea downwardß in my opinion , since crypto already goes up very much, and also it is because of airdrop it will affect the entire market cap of stellar, the total airdrop is 16 million dollar

They had more than enough time to tell people that so I sense scam in a sense that they delayed the release to prevent movement of withdrawals.

It's just an act of fraud, telling us that they are not participating in the day after that snapshot taken place. No less responsibility should be taken stellar giveaway Organizers. I sent all btc to poloniex account, believed their words.
