Legit question. Theoretically, yes. ESP version 1 had a much bigger supply and no PoS iirc. There's really no reason to mine it, but if people do, it could still be used to make payments. There's no future in it though, unlike ETC, because ESP 1 has no developer and thus is to be considered "abandoned" in favor of ESP2.

Basically, they rebuilt the site after some security problems were discovered (and caused losses). They're starting over and forced everyone to withdraw their coins, including ESP2.

Well, it's real and it seems like it's going to happen based on what i've seen in the telegram chat (the espers_opencommunity telegram). I don't think a new roadmap is going to change anything as a lot of people are fed up by promises. What the community need right now is some real progress, update or anything that has been promised by the dev.

I do not agree.
The road map is built with specific information and planning according to schedule and schedule aligned with actual information.
This is not a simple image.
This is a millions project and this can't be built fast without study and analise.
In some countrys in the world, to open a firm, first you have to study the business and mount the project for two years or you can fail fast.
This project is more than a firm, you will work behind the firms, giving support and backup to your business. Do not have space to failures or errors.
We have to believe and not give up.
We have to charge the evolution of the project reasonably.

This was actually coming either way though, the transition to posw2.0 was going to delist all the various coins.  The hack just sped up the hey everyone withdraw now thing.

They intend to re-add the bigger PoS coins back and popular masternode coins, however they won't be re-adding coins without active development/promising future.  Thats in part due to the original run alot of coins were added fast to have a quick little p&d and then experience a quick death.

./anyways tldr; esp and the other coins have been set for delisting for awhile.  Esp may or may not be re-added

A group of some big ESP2 investors decided to bail out after the developer just kept lying and start their own project, possibly forking it or at least starting a new project which would give people the ability to swap their ESP. There is supposed to be an update either tomorrow or today.
