We would really need a IOTA unit specification, even just two lines in a text file to go with the IRI source code, that explain how the measurements go as to avoid any misunderstandings.

See my post in the first page of this thread. I tried to do something about curbing confusion but nobody seemed to care.

Btw how is it possible to buy them through NXT coins?

I dont know if there are others, but the last mentioned nxt service:  https://nxtforum.org/asset-exchange-general/bbiota-(yet-another-iota-gateway-asset)/

Is trading at 30x ICO price, and no volume. So in practice it would be much higher if you want to make a well sized buy.

If you are new here, around 20x is the price that was moving around last months.

lol good luck i am out

I am willing to pay 0,0005 thats more than enough for a coin without a wallet.

Good. Cause you are exactly the kind of person we don't want.

Interested in IOTA

Pls post the price G IOTA / BTC

I sell 4000 Giota for 40 btc (100 Giota per btc). Succesfully completed previous trade. Escrow and collateral on my side, and fast delivery.

Good luck bro:
ICO price was about 0.00043 Bitcoin/ Giga Iota
-> 100 Giga Iota for 0.043 BTC

Btw how is it possible to buy them through NXT coins?

There is something very wrong in those numbers, dont know if yours or mine. Im not selling at 100x  Cheesy

And typically, all trades for nxt have had a way higher rate than standard bitcoin trades.

ICO price was about 0.00043 Bitcoin/ Giga Iota

So 4000 Giota, was 1.72 btc.

40/1.72 = 23.25x   ICO price.

Its a bit over the 125 Giota for 0.85 offered by someone that has dissappeared and not connected in over a month, and without escrow. (maybe scam?)

Thats what bahamapascal wrote, seems reasonable:

https://www.tangle.ninja/iota/crowdsale

My calculation according to that 930 / 78 *100 = 1193.54  <<< total amount of Bitcoins with Jinn converted to bitcoin

Now if we devide that by the tota amount of Iota, we get the ICO price: 1193.54 / 2780000 = 0.000429

So ICO price was about 0.00043 Bitcoin/ Giga Iota

No one cares about token sale price. Go buy some ETH and reference the crowd sale, good luck.

Can anyone please explain the process of claiming IOTA purchased during ICO, or provide a link with an explanation?  Thanks.

Do you mean the ones you had already generated a seed for?

Looks like he bought in secondary market, not ico: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1360660.msg14063193#msg14063193

@mechanikalk: If these were the only tokens you bought, you'll have to wait until a new software version get's released here: http://chat.iotatoken.com/channel/releases
then, run IRI, then open nostalgia.html, enter your seed and press ENTER, then click on "Claim iotas", then wait until you get a message saying that the package has been sent.

yes, child_harold was one of the bigger sellers. In the early days he organized a "swap" with CfB. So CfB should know his seed. If CH won't come back, maybe CfB can freeze this seed and transfere it to the foundation fund. That would be a small
satisfaction...

But there are still a few days for the mainnet launch. Maybe he'll come back. Let's keep fingers crossed.

I tried to contact CH as well and unfortunately he did not reply. I still hope as well that he may come back here.

Maybe there really is some way to somehow "freeze" the known part of his IOTA as Come-from-Beyond suggested it by changing the snapshot before the launch until the case is solved.

Cheers

Looks like that MJMNTBCNFUTMJXDJGIBEABNQJIIWHRBLFO9DLJVFOC99FXZGMX9LSSUTJTRWFUSCJ9W9ATSRERPKRAA N9 is his current address in the snapshot. I have derived this from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1360660.msg14259388#msg14259388. It contains 1'073'963'526'373 iotas now, not sure if they were claimed, I'll check it later.

Hi Come From Beyond

I sent BTC to Child_Harold in March & April for 65,000 IOTA. As far as I can see he's deleted his Twitter (@streamuse1), reddit etc. Doesn't look good, should have used Escrow!

You've mentioned the possibility of freezing IOTA before launch. Could that help my situation?

I thought Child_Harold was a trusted member of the IOTA community. He had a long history and seemed to be dealing directly with CfB.

Thanks!

Never assume, we always said USE ESCROW, but if he hasn't claimed yet, we can indeed freeze, if not, nothing we can do.

The deals with cfb as escrow were fine, but he was the opposite of a trusted member. He drank too much, called the iota community assholes, said that david is full of it and unprofessional and that he would exit iota because of him... and now it seems like he could be running off with stolen BTC (in dubio pro reo). Oh the irony.

does someone knows how many guys have been scammed by child_harold? Is something doable about that?

I compiled this list based on messages in this thread. These users (including me) have not been able to contact Child_Harold:

  • naj
    wesgen
    Niemand
    888cj
    Cizzen
    koYnsta

Hope something can be done to freeze Child_Harold's IOTA assets....

I remember back in 2014 me and cfb used to joke that I am a 'crazy detector'. First it was BlueMeanie, CIYAM, Klee, altcoinUK and now this guy as well... Sadly from experience we know that most likely this lowlife will never return, but we'll know soon if we can indeed freeze his account, cfb will post update soon. I would also not be too surprised if he suddenly shows up again to honor his deals with some excuse as to why he had to disappear all of a sudden and delete all his profiles, now that he realize he might lose it all.

i also purchased 50k (old) IOTA from CH. Hopefully he comes back. We can't know what's the reason that he disappeared, maybe he has family or health issues, or got hacked...

I started collecting my transactions with child_harold. Maybe the other guys bought from him, can document their tx as well. So we do have a overview regarding the possible scam...
I still keep my fingers crossed and hope child_harold will come around the corner.

What if by freezing CH's account I'm doing the same disservice as VB to Ethereum community with that fork? The lesson won't be learned if I babysit those who decided not to use an escrow service...
