Steam accepting btc - will it affect the forum market?

Curious if that will affect the people selling games on the bitcoin talk? And the various other websites you can buy steam at.

i think that it should affect market by a bit, but not a lot as that's not the super important thing, as people just could buy steam wallet codes for bitcoins and use them, however, this way is cheaper

i think it is good move that steam now accepts them and i really hope that other stores and websites will accept them too now, as some still are afraid of bitcoins, they shouldn't be now

I think it'll raise further awareness, but at this point we might be starting to reach awareness saturation. In order to move forward we need to increase conversions for those aware of Bitcoin to get some bitcoin.

You are right about that it will not affect the market at all due to the fact that here on the forum the games are cheaper than on steam itself and that is why people stay buying it on here at the marketplace section.

Probably true, if there is an impact it will probably be trivial at best.  If btc was introduced into a area where the user base had no idea what it was and then it was widely adopted, then there would be a significant impact.   I would go even a step further and say not only have many steam owners heard of btc, they probably use it already.

in the future steam will add coin payments between players in game or just for steam cards that would be nice.

listen it wont affect the forum market it will only give them another choice. Because there are so many people who are using the forum
market and steam is not stupid so the only thin the provide is that all the gamer who uses steam can pay with coins. That´s actually great for
both sides not only for steam but also for the gamers. Who used to pay with coins i think.

listen it wont affect the forum market it will only give them another choice. Because there are so many people who are using the forum
market and steam is not stupid so the only thin the provide is that all the gamer who uses steam can pay with coins. That´s actually great for
both sides not only for steam but also for the gamers. Who used to pay with coins i think. 

As you said - it will give people another choice - to buy gamed DIRECTLY on Steam without middlemen, without escrow, no 3rd parties involved.
The only incentive to buy games not from steam will be huge promotion/discount of people who are reselling keys. Other than that, there is no point not using Steam.
So of course it will affect people who are reselling games.

The marketplace will indeed not be affected because steam will hold the same prices as the normal once's and on the marketplace the games are on a lower price so that is good and people will stay buying the games here.

It is nice that Bitcoin is accepting Bitcoin and that is because you also can see now that there are now more people that is using Bitcoin so that is perfect.
But you have to promote it more so there will be more people that will get to know about it and that would be nice.

i never see people selling games on this forum,but anyway if they were exist,of course they will affect with steam accept bitcoin for now,people will more happy to buy games on steam,but if people here sell games with cheaper price,i think buyer will more glad to buy with better price.

I do not know what to expect but I think it will only affect the market a little bit but indeed not a lot because the games on here are cheaper.
I also still think that its something we first have to see if it will affect most likely not but we cannot really say anything about this, maybe some sellers will stop because of this fact.

It will affect because many seller of steam wallet want to use their bitcoin in steam so it will affect. But i think the effect of this would be many gamers or seller want to know what is bitcoin. It will affect because many seller of steam wallet want to use their bitcoin in steam so it will affect. But i think the effect of this would be many gamers or seller want to know what is bitcoin. How to earn. And many more so the effect of this in the forum market is many new bitcoin user will buy bitcoin.

The effect really there is many people will be more aware but mostly for now those dota players will be courious what bitcoin is and if they will try to use bitcoin i can say they will keep using it because they can earn money with these. And also it can really effect here for reseller because they can lost costumer since steam accepted bitcoin already and many bitcoin user will go buy directly to steam rather than resellers existing in these furom.

I think lot of people here are just reselling steam keys from bundles that are in most of times much cheaper than on actual steam sales, so in that way no it won't affect forum market much.

Yeah no effect for the forum market but for those individual sellers , buyers it will be a good way that steam is accepting btc.
First, sellers will use btc as their capital with less hassle.
Second, buyers will buy lesser price for bundles to sellers.

These reports are unconfirmed so far. If we hear anything official from Valve, we'll be sure to let you know". I think that's good news to hear steam have a intentions accept bitcoin payment but we must wait more confirmation from steam for this. Why many member on steam not sure about steam will be accept bitcoin payment. More better if we wait confirmation from steam.
