I think it is too early to say if the market is affected or not we will see in a couple of months from now if anything has changed.
As for myself i am glad that finally i got rid the pay pal fees.

It will affect the forum market and that is also because we can use Bitcoin more and more so that is nice for the currency itself and also for the world because that is becoming more digital.
But not that many people already know that you can pay with Bitcoin on steam so we have to promote it more.

Looks like steam is finally going to accept bitcoin!!!!

http://cointelegraph.com/news/steam-to-accept-payments-via-bitcoin-in-its-next-update

Curious if that will affect the people selling games on the bitcoin talk? And the various other websites you can buy steam at.
yeah finnaly we can use our bitcoin for buy games on steam, even i never predict this, because steam seem not interest before, but now steam suddenly accept bitcoin, this is good news for us. and i think forum market got effect from this, people try to sell games cheaper than steam price, its they do for gain any consumer.

Yeah, and I don't think the steam's acceptance of btc is the reason because of the bitcoins rapid price increase these weeks.

To accepted BTC steam need to consider about it, Steam need to look some possibility before to accepted bitcoin. Maybe they need to consider it from their member's response, or another reason need to consider before accepted it.

No it will not really affect the market if you ask me, I think there are still not a lot people knowing this.
Maybe in a long term it will affect it.

What am I supposed to tell you it's a referral link? Sorry didn't realize that. I'll add it to the original post? Or should I just take the link down?

To be honest a quick search of Steam bitcoin throws up many a thread. So it would be a better idea to just archive this thread.. But if you want it to stay, you can always simply edit your original link, if you cant, it doesnt really matter . Not everyone is an ass when it comes to referrals links like me
Well I removed the referral part for now. Thanks for being an ass! Lol
i dont think that it will affect the forum market because there are always people who like to pay with other methods instead of bitcoins you know. So dont be afraid that it will affect.

It affected both the forum market and the overall market of bitcoins. Think about it. A hugely-known online marketplace owned by Valve (whose equity was 2.5 billion) accepting bitcoin as an option will lead to a ridiculous amount of attention towards bitcoin (for the overall market).

I'm sure that this was one of the factors for the price increase.

As for the forum market, I suspect that there will still be a lot of trading (perhaps slightly less) because people here still offer discounted prices for games [while Steam would charge full price off-sale]

Well that's for sure even steam accepted btc for their payment, the good thing about it, is that they are one of the big gaming platform that started out to accept btc and when other companies saw that they will just do what steam did. The effect of it is that the demand for bitcoin for their gamers
will become higher.

Smart move by steam. they can now accept payments from absolutely anyone, anywhere in the world. and they don't have to worry about charge backs. and the fee for accepting bitcoin is much smaller than the other payment methods.

Well steam accepting bitcoins is a good move by steam management since there are many gamers that uses bitcoin. That move will benefit for almost all steam users because of smaller fees on bitcoin transactions.

Yep, I guess it will affect the market but not the forum market itself if op is talking about on this forum. But in the economy of the market itself,
it will definitely have it's good effect.
Because the demand of bitcoin will become higher since gamers doesn't have time for buying some steam funds using their fiat money so they are more convenient in purchasing steam products with bitcoin.

Not only steam disable their payment using bitcoin but Russian banned bitcoin too from his country. Steam consider with reviewing their sales for sometimes in bitcoin payment. or it's a Russian effect from banned bitcoin from his country.

It is really nice to see that Bitcoin is going to be more acceptable and not that many people already know that Bitcoin is accepting on Steam and that is really nice.
Because now you can spend it more and even Steam can also earn more money with it.
