After a few months I don't think Steam accepting Bitcoin has affected the 'Digital Goods' board in BitcoinTalk.
Prices are still relatively cheap over here. Like GTA V selling for $15 and CS:GO accounts selling for $4. meh
people can pay their games directly on steam without any voucher so why get bother in digital goods, and also just like summer sale few weeks ago which makes CSGO worth about $4,5 in SEA if i'm not mistaken, and cheap prices on digital goods does make sense because of this I agree. People can just use a VPN to get the lowest regional price for a game on steam or just buy a key from a third party side which is almost the same. Is the price of different games based by region? Im not into steam cause Im only playing lol, but if this is the case how they even need to do that? the price is really different based on region,in europe or north america you'll get higher price than in SEA and also different discount event they doing this maybe to increase the selling amount in the specific region because the average salary in europe and SEA is really different in SEA ~$300 and in europe ~$1500 or even higher

Just like every coutnry we have different cost of living. So that will go in different value of steam price, if you live in first world then expect the price to be higher than those who live in 3rd world.

actually i think that it should affect price of bitcoin, but not by much, maybe by one or two dollars only as there are lots of people that use bitcoins and steam but that's still not enough

actually i think that it should affect price of bitcoin, but not by much, maybe by one or two dollars only as there are lots of people that use bitcoins and steam but that's still not enough There are only 3 million bitcoin users around the world and there are more than 10million people that used steam. I don't see "not too much" on this number. If 2 million of steam users decided to know and use bitcoin, there's a probability that the price might increase to 50%.

Having a big company like steam trusting bitcoin, must mean something, at least for PR purposes right.

The mass adoption is not here yet.

I was really hoping the same to but seems theres no effect of price but i all i see now is increasing user of btc i see now wandering in any sites and mostly here. But in some other instance steam acceptancr have good effect for bitcoin since he give exposure to bitcoins and company would provably see's it and may can gain more popularity and acceptance.

The mass adoption is not here yet. I don't think it's on slow process, according to Coindesk news"According to publicly available data, there are now over 10 million bitcoin wallets. Perhaps the most informative statistic of all is the transaction volume: the number of transactions has also grown impressively, from roughly 80,000 a day to more than 200,000 without showing any signs of slowing."It's slowly doing process but the opposite of what you is what is happening, it's been seen that the adoption on the coin is progressing so fast and no signs of slowly development.

actually i think that it should affect price of bitcoin, but not by much, maybe by one or two dollars only as there are lots of people that use bitcoins and steam but that's still not enough well, this is true that after steams accepting bitcoin bitcoin price will surely grow up . because lots of bitcoin users are using steam also. and lots of steam users like to pay in bitcoin because of it's easy payment system. but here is we are talking about the bitcointalk marketplace. I don't think the official steam support of bitcoin will affect the market. because buying games from manual sellers are very easy and also cheaper then actual steam's price.

That's one of the things that gives us convenience in using Bitcoin, steam does offer such payments thru btc in purchasing new games, game credits and other. You are right we don't need already to buy on a physical store since we can buy it already online.

Lol, it's just a rumor at this moment:
"While many bitcoin enthusiasts and online communities predict the integration of Bitpay considering the discovery of Bitpay command lines a few months ago, the Bitpay team hasn’t released any statement yet regarding their partnership with Steam."
Maybe it can become true, but let's wait an official message...
It's still a rumor, but not a rumor anymore, because somebody request it and now, they are now accept bitcoin on steam. That's good thou because they are now using it attract people to earn bitcoin rather than pay it using USD. Other people also want to earn bitcoin in such a way that they want to use it on games. And here it is. Steam created a new method to attract people to earn bitcoin.

The fact that Steam has the bitcoin logo on it's list of payment option is good publicity quite all right, but don't expect a massive inflow so soon. Most users will still gloss over the bitcoin icon for at least a year before even thinking of using it.
Why migrate to something new when you are comfortable with the old?

Most people chooses the most convenient things to them. You are right why do they need to switch to new if they can load up using the old but some user would be curious about bitcoin payment and want to try its also good that steam accept bitcoin which is also a good publicity or introducing bitcoin on new users.

I agree with this. Steam accepting bitcoin is good for 2 reasons. On one hand it gives ueers the ability to use bitcoin. On the other hand it shows a message to the world. Steam has full faith in the bitcoin protocol

Steam has full faith in the bitcoin protocol Having bitcoin in steam would be a good public promotion to all users of it since there are lots of them who purchases to their store on fiat if someone recognizes the bitcoin payment then he would probably curious about that type of payment since its new to him. I do use also bitcoin in purchasing steam wallet cards which is a really good.
