Hmm, who should tell you this? There is a big sign for bitcoins under the payment methods. Before paying your top ups on steam you should be able to see this.

After a few months I don't think Steam accepting Bitcoin has affected the 'Digital Goods' board in BitcoinTalk.

Prices are still relatively cheap over here. Like GTA V selling for $15 and CS:GO accounts selling for $4.
meh
people can  pay their games directly on steam without any voucher so why get bother in digital goods, and also just like summer sale few weeks ago which makes CSGO worth about $4,5 in SEA if i'm not mistaken, and cheap prices on digital goods does make sense because of this

I agree. People can just use a VPN to get the lowest regional price for a game on steam or just buy a key from a third party side which is almost the same.
Is the price of different games based by region? Im not into steam cause Im only playing lol, but if this is the case how they even need to do that?
the price is really different based on region,in europe or north america you'll get higher price than in SEA and also different discount event
they doing this maybe to increase the selling amount in the specific region because the average salary in europe and SEA is really different
in SEA ~$300 and in europe ~$1500 or even higher
You're right. Just like every coutnry we have different cost of living. So that will go in different value of steam price, if you live in first world then expect the price to be higher than those who live in 3rd world.

Of course, steam would make a balance regarding on their pricing since country has different kind of economic state, there are rich and there are poor. If they make prices based on rich countries then it would be hard for others to cope up with the price since it's too expensive for them in that case there would be a price imbalance which is really not good. So steam make up the balance to maximize their profit worldwide.

It would be better if the Steam offer the bitcoin users 2% discount. That will encourage more bitcoin payments.

what makes you think 2% discount would make any difference, does it also the same as few pennies could change the world? that would be a silly reason, but incase if the price of a games is thousand dollar,it could possibly give an affect

2% discount could cover the cost of buying the bitcoin on exchanges. So the users will not lose by paying bitcoin.

No normal person can be bothered with an exchange.

You gotta get verified, wait for your money to clear, figure out how an exchange works and then get it out again.

In the meantime the price might have crashed.

So you could waste several days to lose money or, y'know, use your card instantly.

What a choice.

BTC is not available as a payment option to add to my account.

Theres already a  bitcoin payment option just try to browse it you could definitely see it since steam is already accepting bitcoin as a payment  a few months ago, its impossible that is removed since ive been using it  for how many months until now. Try to browse it, you would see it in the payment options.

I think it is good to buy something in steam using bitcoin, well it was very easy. but, I guess not all users are aware of that steam, and on average, they all use a voucher or something easier, but perhaps it is more expensive than when using bitcoin, other than that I think the process is also quite long. but hopefully all Steam users will be using bitcoin to transact there, because if that is done then the price will definitely rise bitcoin

Really, well in my case I'm buying using my wallet which is coins.ph. (Note: It is only available in Asian Countries). Steam Wallet is available there, you can directly buy the steam wallet using your bitcoin easily. Although the price is based on USD which makes us hard to buy high amount of steam wallet as it will cost much. I hope they will adjust the payment based on the countries that were in.

Yeaaa it is automatically will growing bitcoin user as they need to buy a games using bitcoin.
But an effect to a third party provider who have a service to sell games via bitcoin should be fine if the consequences is bitcoin user grow and gained.
I personally glad to hear the news a few months ago about steam finally accepted bitcoin.

I have also bought some Steam games with the bitcoin. If they offer some discount to promote bitcoin, it is even better.

I remember selling a couple of steam game keys online and back then it was much easier to sell. But now I guess people will have to purchase games for much cheaper than steam sale prices to be able to sell them over here, or maybe could sell them during the nonsale seasons.

Yes, it will affect the forum market, but only in some things, almost everybody that handle bitcoin have some computer knowledge, indeed there are several place (included this forum) where you can buy steam codes/accounts at a lower price...
so i choose Steam if the price is the same or lower than others websites and others websites when the steam price is higher  Grin

I think yes, it will affect the forum market in a positive way. Because many people will start using bitcoins for buying steam wallets and steam games and the items too.

Looks like steam is finally going to accept bitcoin!!!!

http://cointelegraph.com/news/steam-to-accept-payments-via-bitcoin-in-its-next-update

Curious if that will affect the people selling games on the bitcoin talk? And the various other websites you can buy steam at.

no it didn't affected marketplace and it won't accept. or even if it did, it was tiny price change that we didn't felt at all, like 3$ or so, that's not big price change at all

It has affected the market's forum a lot, a lot of people and company already took part of this, and they used the market to advertise their product, for me this is a good thing because it makes a good marketing strategy and it makes this forum more lively and in the other hands it makes the buyer and seller easier to do transaction
