Well, it seems the news was true in fact. Now steam is accepting Bitcoin finally, do you think this will boost the price by a lot?
Yes. Absolutely. Maybe 15% of the people who are using Bitcoin is also using Steam Community. So that will be a good choice if these people will earn bitcoin in paying the games and credits from Steam and yes, This will affect a lot.

There are some games where you can earn currency with real world value. Not yet with btc though I'm not sure why since btc would be perfect fpr this sort of thing. It is a good thing for bitcoin. Gives people even more reason to buy and use it. It would be good if the bitcoin can be used as a currency in some games. And people can earn that in games.

let's wait for more scaling first. if some of the big online games started using bitcoin the whole network would seize up even if they were using payments channels. at some point the coins have to come out of the game and on to the blockchain. certain games probably have 5-10 times more than the total of current bitcoin users.

That is the reason we need big block size of at least 2MB in the short term, and it should be increased according to usage.

That is for sure a great market to hit with bitcoin, making bitcoin more popular, games industry has a lot of people around them, like porn industry, both industries are great to bitcoin reach mainstream over the years. I believe this new hasnt yet any affect into bitcoin value, as the gamers accept and use bitcoin it may change but now bitcoin is just a baby at the gamers hand, the first step has been made.

Well, i think that not many people are selling games here. So steam accepting btc probably won't affect it so hard, it is not so popular to buy games here anyway...

even the are a few who are in gaming here but the true things is that steam is already accepting bitcoins as a payment and steam has a lot of gamers or users maybe it would be a nice advertisement for bitcoin its appearance in steam.

Of course it won't affect forum market. As other people won't buy bitcoins just to buy games from steam, they will do that directly, so there will be no price rise because of that

I saw the OP posted this question on April and now some months has spent from theat time. Generally the more shops that accept bitcoin, more people become familiar with bitcoin. For example If amazon accepts bitcoin it becomes very excellent.

Right in that way we can really increase the market value of bitcoin. Well i am not good the stock market tho but what i only understand is the law of demand and supply which means that if the demand goes up then the supply will surely goes down then it would affect now the price of bitcoin

What am I supposed to tell you it's a referral link? Sorry didn't realize that. I'll add it to the original post? Or should I just take the link down?
To be honest a quick search of Steam bitcoin throws up many a thread. So it would be a better idea to just archive this thread.. But if you want it to stay, you can always simply edit your original link, if you cant, it doesnt really matter . Not everyone is an ass when it comes to referrals links like me Well I removed the referral part for now. Thanks for being an ass! Lol This is just the first thap of steam to accepts bitcoins because there are allot of gamers who want to buy thing with bitcoins because gamers are people who know allot about the computer off course only if they game with the computer for sure but that is not difficult because steam users are only pc gaming. So yes it wont affect the forum market it will only help it!

We had many bitcoin steam individual resellers and big services like G2A offering Steam games for btc in the past. And they are going to stay, nothing is gonna change because these they are usually offering lower prices for games that Steam. Buying games from Steam directly is only advised if: 1. You can't find the game you want anywhere else. (very unlikely) 2. There is Steam Sale going on. Even then you should not directly put BTC into steam. Steam wallet funds are worth less than paypal/BTC so you can get like 10-20% off. For example, you can buy CS:GO keys for around 1.9 to 2$ in BTC and sell them on the community market for around 2.5$. Or buy skins from bitskins.com too. This is true, but not anybody knows about bitskins or the key thing, there will surely be new customers which have bitcoin to spend. It wont affect the forum market because it will only help there are so many peopel who can tell about the bitcoins and also want to buy allot of things with the bitcoin i think it will only help them to get more attention.
