Steam accepting btc - will it affect the forum market?

I see it as a very good event for bitcoin adoption
this will not only add an option to pay with bitcoins for you favorite games,but,possibly make young gamers who are not familiar with bitcoin
interested in that weird B shaped symbol that you can pay for your games with hence increasing cryptocurrency audience among the youngsters

I'm seeing steam's adoption of bitcoin as good advertisement to their million players who are using their platform. And for sure this can be a good way to make the demand of bitcoin even higher because many will see that by using bitcoin. It will give them more convenience and easy way of paying their in game items for purchasing it.

It is indeed but a lot of people do not even know it got accepted by steam so its still not very popular on it, I hope this will change in the days.

think of a young guy who is browsing faucets and bitcoin PTC and games to earn some 0.01-0.02 and then
he is able to buy a game on Steam for his hard earned bitcoins
if there are easier and more convenient  conventional ways to pay I would not purchase bitcoins for that purpose
but if I have spare change in my wallet I could spend it on steam games as well,why not

And it's a good deal, he doesn't need other's credit card or personal info, he can buy anonymously. If I would in love with a game, I could spend it yes.

There is a huge subreddit called beermoney and if people figure out how they can make bitcoins off websites like these and they can purchase games on steam with it , surely the traction will get higher. It will affect only a small part of the community and do wonders on price and acceptation rate.

It will change for next year, I guess if steam does want to help the adoption of bitcoin and will see that a good opportunity can come out to them by promoting their players to pay with the use of bitcoins and by putting some rewards with it. This is going to boost their sales because if the demand gets higher the bitcoins they receive will just increase its value.

Yes, there are many young people who is trying to get something from faucets and many people was like this when they heard about bitcoin at first. While steam is for gamers, bitcoin transactions is best here because payments are made in less time without having cards and etc. For example, some cards from another country don't works on steam that's not good but bitcoin works without any limitations.

It won't really make any kind of difference. I barely know of anyone that actually buys games off steam, other than when there is sales. The prices are just way to high compared to places like g2a and Kinguin.

And gamers are a huge market , that spend a lot of money. So , we can expect large hardware and software retailers looking at bitcoin with much nicer expectations. maybe if we are lucky even some large payment processors may change their mind.

Yeah it's something extraordinary things, because right now it's a lot of people who are already addicted to the use of games as one of the tools pemuas themselves. and this is something the same thing as the gamblers are addicted to gambling. Although the results obtained by different, but that all have the same characteristics. The only difference it may bring to bitcoin inst the price and yes to become more knowed currencie, since several people doesnt know bitcoin at all, and gamble world its very big, i believe its the second just after porn industry comes the game industry, soo be at those marketplaces does bring more exposion to bitcoin.

As i do purchase steam credits, I also let those kids purchase steam credits on me. We usually know that steam wallet codes are too costly. Unlike paying directly with btc in which you dont have to worry about the added value

Its good but the fact is that its not used often and a lot of people do not even know it so first it needs to get a lot more popular before it will change the market on here.

I think there is an affection in the market or forum market for steams acceptance of bitcoin and not just steam but also other companies who are going to adopt bitcoin because that is going to help bitcoins demand by allowing their customers to pay using bitcoin. But still it needs to be promoted by steam and the case that I can see steams acceptance have a big help to the forum market because there are a lot of merchants who are selling in game items for cheaper price with bitcoin but I don't know on how they are getting it.

I agree with you. I think it's a good news for steam accepting bitcoin. It's courage people to use more their money into steam market and now they have an option to deposit with bitcoin. I'm think it's really good for both side, steam and the steam user itself.

But when they started accepting BTC's that was changed.It wont affect the forum market.Since,people here sell for cheaper prices.

Yes it will affect alot.People selling games here in the forum maybe forced to sell all their games with high or small discounted price to cope up with the fact that steam is accepting bitcoins now.Or if seller dont do that buyers will be force to buy directly to steam.

Nope, Average seller, was selling his game with some discount, The game has got sold by them it's a remaining game.
