Did anyone imagine Arsenal would be competing for a "small" double this season?

I didn’t but they are looking very, very good for winning the Premier League. I don’t see why they can’t at least get to the final of the Europa League too.

Looking at the list of remaining teams in the Europa League there aren’t many that I could see beating Arsenal at the moment. Arsenal seem to pass every test that’s thrown at them, fearless.

Playing in a domestic league and in Champions League or Europa League is different experience. In a domestic league, they will play with familiar clubs with similar or familiar tactics. In Champions League or Europa League, they will have to play with clubs from other countries, other leagues which mostly have different tactics.

It requires better adaptation to different tactics but if Arsenal can bring their good performance from Premier League to Europa League, they can beat many clubs there and it's possible for them to win it. In Premier League, Arsenal shown that they are strong enough against big clubs in their home-land and they have strong mentality and don't give up until last seconds.

I think you are forgetting about Fenerbahçe. I'm looking forward to having a draw against Arsenal. (I hope we don't because I'm scared of the possibility that Arsenal would also do the same Liverpool did to Beşiktaş.)

I think you are forgetting about Fenerbahçe. I'm looking forward to having a draw against Arsenal. (I hope we don't because I'm scared of the possibility that Arsenal would also do the same Liverpool did to Beşiktaş.)

All fandom aside, there is United, Arsenal and Juventus left in the europa right now and I highly doubt that Fener would have that much chance. Right now Sevilla looks to be a weak team this season, normally they are famous for being awesome in europa league, the team with the most europa cups ever, hell it's called sevilla cup for fun, but this year they look very very weak, so there is a very big change that Fenerbahce could win this mathcup for sure.

However, after that? Beating United? Beating Arsenal? I highly doubt that, Fener doesn't really stand a chance against giants like that, they are going to really force their situation at that point.

Sevilla absolutely didn't deserve to win yesterday. Fenerbahçe had a serious level of superiority to their opponent especially in the first half. However Joshua King couldn't benefit from two absolute chances. After Sevilla got ahead by a lucky goal in the second half Fenerbahçe were demoralized. And after this minute everything developed just in the way Sevilla wanted. I'm still hopeful about the match in Istanbul. Because Sevilla play really very badly this season.

Although I'm a Fenerbahçe fan I think Galatasaray would have had a serious level of chance in the Europa League if they were here. The squad they have is really over the Turkish League standards.

Sevilla have a weirdly bad season because only one season ago, they competed for La Liga with Real Madrid and Barcelona until very last match days. This season, they fell very deeply to a 17th position and they only stay above Almeria in a relegation zone by a better goal difference. I am not so sure about their ability to stay in La Liga after this season. Above Sevilla, there are some other clubs up to 12th position with 3 points more than Sevilla.

It means they have both risk and chance in rest of season. If they can improve, they will climb up on the table very quickly to nearly a 10th position. In contrast, they will stuck at the bottom and might be relegated.

And we have seen why. Sevilla definitely played a lot worse, not even close to how their opponent played, they sucked the whole first half and they were barely decent on the second half. But, they have this method where they take a team that is fired up, and they slowly wear them down by very slow football and then they attack and score.

Honestly Fenerbahce deserved to win and I feel sorry for them but even when players changed and even when manager changed, Sevilla still has this cultural DNA where they end up winning in europa league, they are just way too good in this cup for some reason. I think they won't be losing the second game neither.

I would guess that Liverpool could just go pass this season like it didn't happen and fix the teams roster next season and they can be a lot better. The fact that they trusted Klopp and didn't fire him when they did bad, is the proof that management knows what they are doing.

There are so many teams, including Chelsea, that fired their manager as soon as they did bad a few weeks in a row, and they have not recovered from that. Look at Liverpool go this year though, they started terrible, but trusted their manager, and they are doing much better this season, a top 4 finish is not even out of question right now, it is a possibility, hence why I think they will do better next season.
