So much drama in the Olympics F finals where Canada beat Sweden on penalties after Sweden had 3 consecutive chances to take the win and they still missed 3  penalties in a row ...crazy! Regarding Messi, you know what, I think he’ll stay at Barca. They’ll cut some deal after tough negotiations for him to stay. I think there is some legal mumbo jumbo with La Liga chiefs about how much wages are allowed to be paid & the debt Barca are allowed to be in. It’s complicated but I think all parties need to some extent, Messi to stay in La Liga for various reasons.

Maybe I’m just a deluded romanticist & hope he’ll stay at the club he’s been at since he was such a young boy.
He’ll probably end up at PSG, won’t he haha.

Spurs at their peak when they did finals would be in finals again, as long as Spurs is good, as long as any team is good they will have that chance to go to champions league finals anyway, and if they suck then instead of getting scored 4-5 goals at champions league, they will do like hardcore fighting at conference league, which makes things a lot better for the viewers as well since we will see more games between close level teams.

I agree in this way, that Conference League is not going to be as boring as people think it is because there will be some quality players and quality teams at some stage. I mean if you see midtable teams in England Spain Germany Italy France sometimes they have very good matches and high quality,,, just not enough to compete at the top consistently.

Think about it, most of those high level leagues have teams at 5-6-7-8-9-10 positions (okay 10 might be maybe too much) which is not horrible, hell I am 100% certain that some teams from lower level national leagues end up going to champions league while much better team in a higher level national league ends up going to europa or conference, that is the only thing to take care right now.

Here you are getting into Superleague arguments. If something is called Champions league than it is intended for Champions, 5th team in England is definitely not Champion even if they have double the budget of whole Croatian league. Yes they are richer, yes they are stronger but they are not their countries' champions. And Dinamo (Croatian champion) showed Spurs last season that money isn't everything when they kicked them from UEFA League.

When we get Superleague and we will, it is just a matter of time since money runs it all, we will loose that last bit of football romanticism and illusions that it is a game played for supporters.

Basketball is my domain, I have been watching it for well over 20 years, and I still fail many times in a year, maybe I may not be making a profit each year neither, only sometimes. So there is no worry about gambling in basketball, it is widely known and watched more than most other sports, like there are people who gamble on tennis very commonly, but tennis is not viewed nearly enough (usually top games do, but basketball is a whole year long season whereas tennis is different tournaments and only few games gets the most attention) but I get it.

In this case, USA is widely known as the favorites and it makes sense, they are USA, and they are very good, and they only had one loss this entire tournament... to France. I think they will probably want to get revenge and get the gold, I am not saying they will win, but that is what is "expected" from them, that is all we know, you just caught up to every single person who loves basketball and know the same thing as we do.

I wasn't surprised to see Mexico win easily against the Japanese side. The Japanese fought hard though. Brazil will most likely win the finals in my opinion and successfully defend their title from Rio 2016.

Argentina was the last team to win back to back Olympic golds in 2004 and 2008 and Brazil is in a great position to replicate the same. Let's see what happens.

There are so many rumors and news regarding Messi that at this point it seems it became a joke. To be honest , I feel bad for Messi because first of all , he doesn't want to play for another club and 2nd of all , if he won't have a great welcome at the new club , we won't perform better. The PSG move hasn't been confirmed or finalised though that is the most likely outcome. If he does move to PSG, I think it's possible for all 3 forwards to work together to push the entire team in the right direction, but it won't be easy.

Also, there are rumours swirling around that Sergio Aguero is planning to leave Barca since he joined the team primarily due to Messi's presence in the first place. Dark times for Barcelona.
