Steemit users still growing despite price stagnation. Also pretty interesting, the Steem price is holding strong despite the massive crash in other altcoins.
Looks like this Steem Power lockdown feature is very handy in a time of crisis to remove volatility from the price. I must say the Steem founders are geniuses, they know how monetary policy works optimally.
Steem had the first dev team that was adept not just in developing a wonderful social media platform, but they also had deep knowledge in optimal monetary policy.
well steemit is growing with 5000 users per day as I heard from a dev. so they might be up to something. and sometimes project needs some time until people trust it. it's there for a year that means it's not going anywhere I was talkin abot how nicely the Steem monetary policy is designed, it's a stable coin and even if it crashes, it does so very slowly so people can prepare. The last crash was harsh, but it took 5 months to happen, so people had plenty of time to sell. Now a big BTC crash happened and the Steem price is not crashing. So it's very well set up, people have a lot of confidence in Steem. And that is great news, when every other altcoin is in red. |

Hard to tell - Steem was already on the way down before the BTC / ETH crash. |

Wow that's great ! I'm glad to hear that. Steem brings in new users to the world of Bitcoin using whatever niche they are involved in currently and I think that's great. It's also a good place to learn and entertain yourself. |

If you sign up through the web site then no. Steemit Inc pays the fee for you. You will need to give an email or some such info and wait for them to verify it (have never used it so I don't know the details). If you sign up directly on the blockchain then there is a (sort of) "fee" (though not really a true fee since the coins are deposited into the new account). In the upcoming hard fork it is proposed to restore the ability to create accounts via mining. |

I tried signing up another account through the website but its been 3weeks and no answers, so I gave up... I am creating a website and wanted a Steemit user name to correlate with the website. It has been 5 days since I did the registration on the website, but my account hasn't been created yet.
I got the verification email the same day but still the account is waiting for approval.
Please tell atleast the estimated time for account approval.

When did they change payout structure again? I saw that voting power raised after Hard Fork 19 but it seems like people's power reduced to %20 again.
For example when voting power is 5 cents before HF 19 become,
25 cents after HF 19 but now,
5 cents again.

That is because the price crashed, relative to the USD, the voting power is still fairly distributed in my opinion. Wait for the price to go back up to 2$ and the rewards will be nice again. |
