i can not find any guide out there to use for mining with gpu in solo, is this even possible with cryptonote?

Afaik there is no gpu miner for cryptonight that would support solo mining. I was trying to set it up with the CLI, the miner got connected to the daemon but there were some header errors that the miner was expecting from pool but the daemon obviously didnt provide it

I also lost interest here on day one I am getting shares per two hours now it took 5 to 6 hour to get my shares it's not worth anymore to mine this coin given the difficulty ..

what port are you using, and what hash? Would be good if lulworm could limit the max diff for some ports =)

AFAIK, cryptonote only for cpu mining

That is not true, GPU mining is possible atleast with NVIDIA gpu's, i dont know about AMD.

I also stopped mining this I am using the built in miner in my wallet and my port is 3333 used to get my share every two hours because my hash is very low now I'm lucky to get it in 6 hours,this has become the play ground of the biggies..

What gpu do you have and what cpu? I dont think the built in miner is very good, i would recommend gpu mining tbh, if you have a good graphics card.

im using 2 cores n still got payment for almost every hour, dont know bout the lost hash for that 9 hrs coz my cpu was still mining it, might be better to recheck it more

What are you talking about?
The pool finds almost all the blocks.
I mine with CPU (290 h/s for an AMD 8core at 4GHz) and GPU (150 h/s for my little HD7850).
I have shares in all blocks, and they pay.

i kinda hate the cryptonote algo coins they are botnet friendly ....

How is that any different than other algo's getting raped by large mining farms?  I seriously doubt that anyone is going to setup a botnet to mine this coin.

Hi. my first post in the thread. FYI In the BitCedi IRC there was or still is a Chinese guy who mines on 30x 12 core Intel Xeon workstations, lulworm can confirm. He held or still holds the majority of the supply so far I suppose.

I am mining this on my spare computer,my hashrate is very low only 12 h/s using two cores my daily rewards is only from 10 to 12 I am looking to use one more pc with a good spec once the price is good on exchange and trading market..

I think there is a branch of Monero that allows solo mining with GPUs without running a pool, but I'm not seeing it at the moment. I don't think it's been merged into master, and I don't remember who was working on it, but yea, in general you can't solo mine with GPUs without running your own pool on cryptonotes.

Are you thinking of MBK's Boolberry fork "Boolberry OpenCL" that allows you to solo mine to the daemon with GPU's?
