Actually if you still have money aside from 12 BTC you have, just consider that amount as for investment only, chances are you can grow that amount if you are strictly managing it for investment purpose only. As an investor, we should understand that we cannot mix our personal expenses and for investment by nature business is separate and distinct from the owner.

Selling now will not give higher profits so its better to keep them on hold for next couple of months and have a close watch on the price movements and when you are satisfied with the price you can sell them.

Better to start altcoin exchange platform and i think 10-12 bitcoin will be significant to have exchange script, have advertising campaigns as well as good design to start. And if you can make it quite popular and active trading platform return from trading fees will be really more than what you have invested in start. But this are just my speculation and i didn't have any experience running such trading platform.

gambling is not a good idea to grow. Why should gambling? While there is still much better ways of gambling such as trade. though it has a high risk. but trade depends on analysis rather than luck as gambling.

If he wants to multiply his money then I think he should invest that amount in trading where he can grow his coins over a period of time by making regular profits from it.

I would not even invest it in something, I would just hold it for a long term and wait on a good time to sell it because its gonna be profitable.

I fully agree, why would you even invest it, I think that investing it into the bitcoin is not even smart and that it can bring you into trouble, investing with a unstable currency is already very risky!
