With 12 btc, what I would do is :

Sell BTC around 900$, buy back more BTC around 800$, sell a part at 850$ and another part at 900$ and start again the loop.
It is a good moment now to do this kind of trades due to the votality.

Unfortunately the market of bitcoins don't just go around that price range. We're not stuck in a loop of 800-900$ range but we might spend quite some time here. Eventually, the price would be more than 900$. What if you just sold your bitcoins by that time? Are you going to buy bitcoins knowing that you will lose money if you do so? I don't think so.

Price volatility might be taken advantage of. But not all of the time that particular strategy would work. Trading is much more than buying at x price, selling at y price, and then waiting for the price to go back to x then sell to y price.

Advice, tips, speculation please.

In my advice to you if this amount is being set for investment in bitcoin. Well, invest it all to buy bitcoins, but majority of them must invest in altcoins that are potentially moveable in the exchange platform. so it will easily multiply your bitcoinBTC in trading. 30% of your 12BTC must hold it for awhile.
I think much safe if you had already 12 btc holding stay in bitcoin to usd and usd to bitcoin because 12 btc is a large amount and you can mange your profit and earn a good amount in trading..
yes tradign is a good option, i am also in favour of trading and 12 bitcoin is really a good amount and one can trade a good amount of alt coins using 12 bitcoin. i my self have invested about 8 bitcoin in trading alt coins.

If i had 12 bitcoin my investment would just be to hold them for at least 10 years.  get your self a good hardware wallet or make up some secure paper wallets put them away and forget about it.  the history of giving your bitcoin to someone else in hope of a greater return is not good, dont do it.

i did invest a little in of mine in satoshidice and did make a profit, but i wouldn't put in anymore than you would be willing to lose.
I also suggest for holding that amount in the current time because the position of bitcoin is going much better and everyone can see that the price of it is increasing faster. Maybe for some people it will be hard to hold for years because they will need them for their living etc so they have to hold some amount of them and have to spend in bitcoins whenever they need them for their living.

Multiple options available, You could trade BTC to altcoins and USD and getting profit from buying cheaper and selling lower, not a safe investment method though. Other options would include investing in a startup stocks in havelock or something like that.

Holding for 10 years, it is really too long period, You know i sold my 6 bitcoins recently when bitcoin was $1030. It is not because i couldn't hold them, because of i sold them, i will buy again when bitcoin going to down. And as you said 10 years, should know that many things will be changed in that period, may be another coin will be come to comparative with bitcoin. That's why i suggest, holding is best way but not for a long time.

He have to be careful  about any startup stocks investment, make sure that the place is legitimate so he can avoid scam. I prefer him for only do trading bitcoin to altcoins and USD. Because he can earn a lot of profit by 12 btc.

Investing in gambling site's bankroll is one of the most common advises here, but what I found recently is that some casinos also allow you to make leveraged investments. As casino mathematically expects to have a long term profit, you can get a decent return from a smaller investment, but your risk will also be higher. Also, some exchanges offer leveraged trading, so if you are really good at it, you can increase your returns.

If you are looking at cryptocurrency investments, I suggest that you follow Tai Zen's channel cryptocurrency market at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_S5FBcMfrFbeV1ZRa3dJmA. They publish videos about market predictions, new coins and suggest whether to invest or not. They do have hits as well as misses on price predictions so be very sure before you invest.

Outside of crytocurrency, I personally prefer stocks and the forex market with leverage.

i agree with you trading is good option if you are expert in trade then you can get a big profit through trading and we know that there is many people new in trade and they are not expert and experience in trade and then they lost their all bitcoin in trade and then they says that trading is risky and trade is very profitable if you are expert and experience.

I have never tried, but I also hears that investing in a casino is the most profitable way to make your bitcoins to work. But I would recommend to invest in some known casino to feel more save about the case of scamming and loosing your money.

In my opinion, there is no need to "invest" your coins. Bitcoins can be used as a currency, as well as an investment asset. In this regard, it is different from the fiat currency. The value of Bitcoin remains constant over time, due to the principle of controlled supply. This gives protection against inflation. On the other hand, the value of fiat currency declines every year due to inflation.

Well i think 12btc is a very big amount to place under a single investment. I think its better to have that amount shared into muntilple investments like 3 or 4 inveatments to make sure that even if one of those investments doesnt gonwell, you'd have a fall back. And yes investing in casinos definitely would give you a good roi as it never runs out of people playing though you have to reaearch well to make sure you're in a safe site free from scammers and hackers

yes people shows a great response and interest in buying bitcoin and hope that they will continue the buying trend of bitcoin even in 2017. so we can say that still it is good time for long term investment at least for one year and hope that after one year bitcoin rate will trading about 1800USD. therefore those people who have bitcoin should hold for some more time.

strange advices, guys. Why should he hold his btc if he can trade and speculate with them on exchanges? He can double them in a year i think. This is crypto, where speculation is a life.

To trade successfully you should know exactly what you are doing, it's not that simple. By trading you can double what you have in one day theoretically, but in practice you will be risking a lot for that purpose and will most likely lose. Holding, on the other hand, gives you profit in USD without risking to lose everything.

Don't. Just hold it.

Given the fact that you came in this forum to ask for a good place to invest your money is a clear sign that you don't know anything about investments. Let's just say that someone comes to you and say that you should here or there, you wouldn't be able to invest right away because you don't have any idea on what you're doing. Well, that's if you're cautious. Otherwise, someone would pretend that he's knowledgeable about investments and just rip you off.

Bitcoin holding might be the best thing that I have done with my bitcoins. I tried altcoin trading but it's just not for me. You should try it, though, maybe you are capable of having trading skills.
