TLDR: No we won't change name. I am not stubborn, it's a plan. One person even dev not going to do that. Shorten it to Karbo like in carbon if you cant spell it.

'Karbovanets', or spelled as 'Karbowaneć'  more like would spell our slavic neighbors in latin alphabet, is well known and recognizable word for money in Ukraine, it was historical currency. If the name is hard to pronounce for non-slavic users, well shorten it to Karbo like in carbon Smiley it means Carving actually. A pound of Carvings Smiley edit: a rod with carvings actually.

It has Ukrainian flavor like a lot of other local or national coins, but no one prohibit or discourage to use it worldwide. I have few Auroras for example Smiley

There is and there was a lot of Cryptonote coins thanks to it's starter but few of them did survive. We choose to be local coin as our niche and as tactical move because otherwise we will not be different from other coins appearing and disappearing. I hope this will give us some kick-start and support. And it looks so far like it did.

We already have general, globally targeted Cryptonote coins like mentioned XDN. I like XDN and borrowed a lot from their wallet. Though I think they renamed coin too many times. From the other hand, it mirrors their growth. I also remember proposals to change Monero name because it sounded too much latina like for some English speaking users. Where they are now with their jokes and jerks? Compete with Monero globally? No, thanks. We are like Ukrainian Monero Smiley (In fact we are fork of Bytecoin of which Monero is fork).

Concerning logo, it is not logo, it is rather a symbol, sign, which is better for currency. We are not company to have logo. Currency doesn't have to have logo, but it has to have symbol, like $ or €. A simple, memorable, easy to write symbol. So we have symbol Ҝ  - Ka with vertical stroke like in other currencies, and this one even is in Unicode Smiley

International contributions and users are very welcomed though. Any one wishing to write something in English, promote or participate somehow can do this and can reach me here in case of questions and I will do my best to help and provide all necessary info. I just had no time to make a multilingual website and after recent attacks I have to look for more secure solution than was initially planned. Nor have time to open Reddit in English and sit there. Anyone? There is a lot of documentation to be written or translated in Ukrainian and we have no full time devs and team members. The team is very tiny in fact.

Marketcap itself is not any good indicator except for pumping purposes to fool hamsters. What's the point in marketcap of some imaginable crypto having billions of worthless one satoshi coins pumping big marketcap when in fact it has zero trade volume, zero use? We're young, small trade volume, zero real world use yet, still have very small community, no good services other forks have for granted from bitcoin. But we choose privacy over fancy mobile wallets. We were busy with wallet making it work correctly with cyrillic. Now we can concentrate on missing tools for real world use.

any possible roadmap

Loose plan

- Cryptopia
- Broken Cyrillic filesystem support under Windows
- Web Wallet
- Payment Gateway
- Mobile wallet
- Some Ukrainian exchange
- Some major exchange
- Minergate

On development we're watching further wallet optimization, POS/POW, tail emission.

with only 1.2million coins we are ridiculously cheap. aeon has 12million coins and its at 20k sats so 200k sats is where we could be at. once the word is out cheap coins will be gobbled up. bittrex will be soon adding it as interest gathers momentum

Both are Cryptonote and forks of Bytecoin but codebase now differs a lot. We are Cryptonote reference fork which is the same as Bytecoin I think. For now both serve comparable privacy, Monero will be better when implement RingCT. Monero now has better blockchain storage, which we have to and will implement in future. We do have GUI Smiley Disclaimer: I do have some Moneroj, hodl Cheesy

Yes there are Ukrainian exchanges. Few, at least 3:
https://btc-trade.com.ua/
https://kuna.io/?lang=en
https://www.coinessa.com/?language=en

It is possible to get to some of them, we are not ready yet at this stage.

We have 10 years emission plan. Near 40% in first year. There's chart on site, I'll make English splash version soon/

This needs to be on bigger exchanges to get more volume, don't sell your self short you've done a really good job so far, it's due for a price correction very soon.

karbo does sound better for us international users.
