I see no reason for bitcoin to go upto $4k USD anytime soon.
The halving has already completed and the price has reached $570. $4k price is not a distant dream though. Wait for another 3 years and you may see it touch $4k USD.
Wake up dude? which halving has completed? halving will be next month 11 July 2016. and price already crossed 680$ before halving. i doubt that bitcoin will reach such price after the halving but this will be possible after a few years in my opinion if we adopt more
Well, 4K price is looks really high and seems an impossible target. but If we see Op's calculation we'll realize that he's actually right. in previous halving bitcoin price was suddenly jumped to 1000$ from only 10$ and this year bitcoin price was 200 at the start of the year and now it is 680$.. it means 4K is highly possible. now wait and see. It is not possible. Max Btc price is 1200$ and that was because Mt.Gox manipulating the prices. I am very surprised to see 650$+'s but i must say that 4000$'s is a dream which will never become true. We may even see 700 or 800's but when this hype is over it will goback to 400's sooner than you think.

Anything is possible, no one can judge what will be the exact price of bitcoin after the halving, and whatever people are predicting is just an speculation, only time will show us the right price. |

I bought around 1500 BTC in 2012 @ $7 ...... sold 500 BTC @ $10 in 2012, another sold 300 BTC @ $90 in 2013, and final sold 100 BTC @ $700 in 2013 Now, I'll sell at least @ $5K or, if price is low then hold my BTC forever  |

No it has lot of effect which you can see right now, if you remember price get pumped from 300$ level to more than 600$ within few months just before few months remaining before halving. |

Personally I don't believe the calculation is that simple. Although bitcoin was coded to act consistently, the situation is different this time around. The base price before the halving is much higher than it was. An exponential increase in the amount of money needed to even mine coins is now needed. We also can't redo the "hitting mainstream news for the first time". When bitcoin surged last time, even the big news networks picked it up. Although the beginning of a surge would definitely prompt some new attention, I don't think it would be the intriguing new item that it was in 2012. Another thing to consider is the amount of money used to push it up as fast as it went the last few weeks. This could just be manipulation ahead of time. Why do I say that? Because the market reacts to the masses. The EASY way to think right now is "uh derrrr..... it went up last time, so it's going to go up this time so I will just buy right now and I am going to be rich by dumping right after the halving surge." That mindset could and would probably cause the market to do the opposite of what you would expect. Just my thoughts... |

WITH THIS HALVING HYPE THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT BITCOIN MIGHT GET OVER 2000 DOLLARS IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE TRANSITION BUT FOR THE 4K DOLLARS DOUBT IT WILL GET THERE

It doesnt however when the 90 % of people that use bitcoin currently believe that it has something to do with the price then the price will rise. People will keep on buying because of the hype that is for sure which is why we can see that the price is keep on getting higher every hour in constant rate |

I think it will happen but not now. For me, the price of bitcoin after halving will reach up to $1k per piece. The prediction of $4k will happen i think after 3rd or 4th halving.
