It would be a dream of mine to be able to get paid in bitcoin. That would not be a problem for me where I live.  Smiley
There are so many ways to cash it out with bitcoin debit cards and atms are bountiful in my neck of the woods.  I just check google maps to locate one where ever I am when i need to transfer some to another person. No fuss no muss Grin

No way, it's to volatile.

I wouldn't want to be paid my whole salary in bitcoin for this reason. However, a small portion would be nice -- say, similar to a deduction for 401k savings. Instead of 5% going to my 401k, I could put 5% into bitcoin for longterm savings/investment. I have a feeling that the tiny law firm that I work for won't be paying in bitcoin anytime soon, though. Actually that isn't a half bad idea for employers to consider this. It would probably save them in the long run.  Wink
Working in a law firm I would of thought they would embrace being able to pay you another currency that could save them money in the long run instead of paying out in one that is not so volatile. You know lawyers  Roll Eyes  save a buck here save a buck there. It is the sound of money that is all they are after.
I heard in the philippines some companies prefer to pay their workers in bitcoin cause they have a really good system in place to be able to send money overseas without the high fees the bank and money transfer companies they have to deal with charge them.

If you are a BTC lover, would you one day like to get your paycheck 100% in BTC?

Personally I won't. Because many facilities in my area doesn't support BTC payment. Smiley I do not mind receiving, say, 20% of my pay in BTC denomination.

The places that are accepting bitcoins here in the area are enough to accept the offer.

Your right that is volatile but i think depends of the person who wants to receive salary in bitcoin. for me i can accept it as my salary because i can instant convert it into fiat..

Converting it to fiat is not a bid deal now, but what will you do if price falls to $100 in future, will you still prefer to accept your salary in bitcoins?

I still would since at the time of getting paid they have to adjust the amount that is given to offset any change in the price. Then at that point it is up to you to hurry and cash it into your desired fiat before it changes to drastically.

Not really.. I prefer cash, touchable currency. I still believe in Bitcoin, but my country doesn't have enough POIs to spend it at. I think it'd be a surprise if I found out that it has 5 restaurants/cafes you can pay with Bitcoin at..

well i think that it is not a bad thing to be honest, in my opinion the volatility might give you a great chance to make money if you will hold it

Bitcoin or fiat i think they are the same as money.. the advantage is if you choose bitcoin as your salary than fiat.. you are far in tax..
Unlike bitcoin there is no tax..

That is the right thing to do as once you have bitcoin you can convert it anytime when you see higher price of it but still its very risky to depend on it.

yeah can you evade actual fluctuations by converting to a fiat in an instant with a rate that is up to date. as done by the merchants. after they got the payment online with bitcoin. they certainly will not hold it because it will be at risk. they have an application that is capable of converting the bitcoin payments directly to fiat

I prefer my salary in fiat because my bills need to be paid in fiat too. Except for that getting bitcoin for work is a good idea, and in fact can give bitcoin's adoptoin a boost.
But we have to be careful with the volatility.

It is interesting to see that almost anyone is willing to accept bitcoin as a salary because unfortunately most bitcoiners are only interested in free coins. Unfortunately for them the time of cheap bitcoins is tending and we need to seriously consider that this coin really deserve a real effort and serious hard work.

If you directly convert it instantly became fiat, so what your benefits are paid in the form of bitcoin ? I think you actually lose money because the fee on exchanger.

No, you're wrong if he having a lot of salaries like $300 for a week and at the same time converting into a fiat. he just getting a little fee and it's not a problem. but I they can just a reached 0.005 or less I can say it's not a good thing and just losing on the fee.

If you exchange it that fast. But what if the price also changes with that time of your salary? Loss will be there in case it goes down. The exchange is low but the movement is big.

This month I recieved 20% of my salary to paypal, I then had to pay high fees to convert it to bitcoins. I wouldn't mine getting that 20% directely to bitcoins. However not every month.
