Well as of today ETH is the only side chain smart contract application platform that is working given it was already 3 years old as compare to Stratis to 1 but has more features have and by the time the complete system is ready for commercial use. Watch out you might be blown away Smiley

Hey Everybody,

I've been trying to help out some early Stratis holders who lost their coins and I need your support. Basically what happened is they mistakenly sent STRAT to a START (Startcoin) address and couldn't get them back. STRAT and START are literally almost the same word, and spell check sometimes corrects the former to the latter. I think it's very to easy to understand and sympathize with the people who lost the coins, but some individuals in here have been very insulting about this, so I just want to reiterate: I haven't lost any of my coins. I'm just trying to help some people out. Please refrain from negative comments and if you don't think it's worthy, pretend you never read this.

Back in August, this user lost over 20k STRAT:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/strat/address.dws?sSura3QpFCbEPtbspj4aGKeigBx3qDDR1z.htm

In exchange bittrex have the currency of a similar name. The name is start, I do not care stratis sent to the accept the start address, this is two completely different virtual currency why can be accepted?Huh? And in the block chain, why would there be such a wallet? Before I send stratis this wallet is not, and after I sent stratis to this wallet is automatically created, this is how it happened? If the address is not right, should not be returned?
My stratis wallet address: SYKhLNADPr2zEZd2LY6Coxv7tBkoP3bdyX
I sent the wrong address (the address is coin START): sSura3QpFCbEPtbspj4aGKeigBx3qDDR1z
Please compensate me for the loss of 20151 stratis to my stratis wallet address or to help me get back, thank you

In November, the same thing happened to cryptodv:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/strat/tx.dws?721c8447a9d021d6ad3ca39ce99e792b6d89423034de0cbed90d1296574e8315.htm

Well I have 22k Stratis Coins stuck at a Start address unredeemed. Any super cryptographers out there? I'll give you $25K.

And probably there are several more who fell victim to this:

Let me know if you find a way! Did the same exact thing!

I've been waiting to hear back from Krushang who said he was working on a solution, but it's been over a month now so I'm trying to gather community support:

Hi,

Sorry i have been very busy. I have someone working on a method to retrieve the coins as we have a few individuals that have STRAT to a startcoin deposit address. i will update you on the progress later this week.

Regards

Krushang Patel

According to cryptodv, Bittrex has been responsive in trying to figure out a solution so here is what I'm proposing.
  • Get a list of Startcoin addresses generated by Bittrex or other exchanges.
  • Have a claims period where anyone can submit a STRAT txn such as the 2 listed above where the recipient address matches one of the exchange-generated addresses and the coins were never redeemed, along with a signed message proving ownership of the sending address.
  • Reverse any qualifying txns at the next hard fork.

Thank you very much for your support. I truly feel that taking action such as this to restore some early adopters will created additional good will about this great project.

Agreed with this, it has potential but it comes down to devs and little luck.
They have been issuing incremental upgrades regularly and it's a good thing.
But for big impact and direct impact on price they will have to finish and implement something big (like Breeze full version).

When you think will be released the definite version of Breeze? Friday will be only for test?

I am currently in the process of starting to stake STRATIS. I have downloaded the current available windows wallet from the stratis platform, but with the breeze wallet coming is there any point of me doing it on the old wallet? Should I just wait for the breeze and start on there, will it be available in the breeze?

Warning!

Changelly.com transactions don't go thru at the moment.

I made my biggest stratis purchase to date, and it got stuck! It's been stuck for more than two hours now.
I send them email, I tweeted, I even sent them direct message via twitter chat (or wtf it's called) - and there's no reply!

I'm starting to lose my sense of humor...

Yes need to use the classic wallet. Breeze is actually an alpha version but i think we'll be able to stake on Breeze in the future, but now use the classical wallet. Welcome to Stratis, the future of blockchain devlopment.  Cool

Ok. Now they at least responded to my email:

Thank you for your query. Unfortunately, we are experiencing some issues with exchanging, and that's the reason of this delay.
Once the matter is resolved, your funds will be arrived to your wallet.
We do apologize for the inconvenience caused.

And thank you for your patience.

And now I got my STRATs ... and with good exchange rate!
Thank goodness.
First time ever I was really worried - and I've been to crypto markets quite a long time Smiley

Have you btw noticed that Stratis (and pretty much all alts) follow the price of ETH - instead of BTC?
I know that people say, how upcoming BTC segwit makes market nervous, but somehow it doesn't seem to affect much to the price of BTC itself - which is already weird all by it's own.

So, I'm actually beginning to question that theory.
Segwit might have huge impact when it happens, but at the moment it's quite clear that Ethereum is the altcoins pacemaker.
When Ethereum goes up, altcoins go up - and when Ethereum goes down - altcoins go down even more.

I actually only need to follow Ethereum's price to see how Stratis is doing.
I do have the Stratis mobile-app (of course) which shows me the Stratis price in almost real time - but I tested my theory by following ETH price going up and down - and it was in perfect sync with Stratis.

Most alts have nothing to do with ETH, so why is that?

Do people think somehow, that Ethereum is the 'King of the Alts' and therefore all the Alts bow to the king?

I think sooner or later this so called 'King of Alts' will be overthrown.

And you all know who the new king will be Cheesy

Got a ledger nano s recently. Stratis is getting into the jittery value space where it is best to tuck it away safely.

It is (I'am a tech guy).
It is very good news, indeed.

Unity is an extremely popular game development platform, and many, many mobile games have been developed with it - for example Angry Birds. Unity uses C# and therefore it's compatible with Stratis libraries.

For example, think mobile games and Stratis sidechains for in-game tokens (in-game cash).

Next logical step is to collaborate with Unreal Engine (which is also very popular game development platform)
