The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Wait are there really 700k people that have invested in HashOcean or this number is just inflated because of fake accounts or duplicate accounts? This looks like the perfect inside job - just clear all the traces and cover your tracks then claim someone hacked your website and close up shop then move on with everyone's money. I wonder if the victims could get a class action suit going against HashOcean to recover some funds if they won't pay up.
I doubt that people who invested in Hashocean and lost their money will ever see any refund. Don't even expect 1 satoshi to be refunded.
Maybe this will be a warning sign for people who has contract purchased in other cloud mining companies - withdraw now, before it will be too late.

Thank God I didn't invest in this cloud mining ponzi schemes till date.
I never trusted cloud mining just because of this.

It's a gamble true, but there are legitimate cloud mining ops out there. If Hashocean bailed it makes it harder on them via colleral loss of trust. Hashnest and Genesis are 2 that pass most tests even by experts, hashnest is part of Bitmain so there's definitely a few TH/s of actual hardware tucked away here and there in their datacenters..

Exactly, if you have invested your money in any cloud mining site than this is the right time to withdraw your money, and if price reached to $1k then I am sure no site will be willing to pay you at that higher price.

Running cloud mining sites already mean you're a professional scammer; you know that you can make more money on the fees of the trading of the mining shares or the people buying the mining shares than what you would be able to actually mine, and thus you exploit that system and then run off with the investors money yourself once it all starts to collapse and fall apart.

 Shocked Shocked Shocked

these guys say they have data center in San Francisco and singapore?

What the hell is in the head these scammers? from what I heard was that someone hacked into the website and their social media accounts, so they are to solve this and payments will be not affected, feathers know if the website turned scam or not when people who have invested in site not receive their btc.

Well if no one gets caught, then you have to congratulate them since they would need to do a really nice job to keep everything covered. I suspect they will never get caught and now they will enjoy millions of dollars in Bitcoin.

It appears that the owners of the hash-scam-ocean still want to suck more coins from the nooby investors or a smart (no) guys trying to clone the ponzi!
Lets guess the ETS (estimated time of scam)

Glad I haven't invested in HashOcean... I actually was interested, but read that most cloud-mining sites were a scam.
