Personally, i have never received stray bitcoins in my wallet. but this is something which is very possible to happen. Just like sometimes you might find money deposited to a wrong bank account, bitcoin is more susceptible to this. Imagine a mere one sentence account number without other details like Account name, branch name, code etc., it is possible to have bitcoins being sent to the wrong wallet address.

But why is BTC more susceptible to it? If it's a typo, then that throws out the address such that it is extremely likely a private key will never be found, and such an address doesn't exist. More likely is the non-technologically enlightened get confused by two different addresses.

it never happened to me , even if it comes suddenly  i believe there is no possibility of reverse of bitcoins  like  i.e sending back bitcoins to the sender,  thats what  every site says during transaction , but still i am not sure , need to under stand more on this.
I too never have been lucky though once I was unlucky Tongue , I was exchanging some bitcoins and giving the user skrill, when I gave him the bitcoin address, I mistakenly gave the bet address of directbet and unfortunately lost it lol . Though I gave him skrill as it was my mistake Smiley

Not yet... i'm waiting to receive something accidentally or random. But some time ago, i received some bits, and it takes to much time before i know that it was from a faucet that stopped paying, and restarted paying the money some weeks later.

The chance is so low like 1 in a gazillionth chances that the exact wallet address of yours will be re-generated and be sent with coins.
yeah it sounds impossible when someone is wrong in entering their bitcoin address. and bitcoin was sent to your bitcoin address Lol
I thought it was too strange and improbable to happen

has it ever happened to u that u just had ur wallet opened and suddenly some BTC arrived out of nowhere?

like someone sent it to the wrong address or something?

like suddenly 0.3777 BTC are rolling in but u don't know who sent it, why it was sent and what it is all about?

~CfA~
I got a very little amount. I think  I received 0.004 bitcoin when I joined Coinbase. It was quite random, but I lost it because I didn't confirm it quick enough.  Grin

Soo knowing that amount isn't yours what had you done did you refunded the bitcoins? Atleast, you can make it as you wish or not , back to topic I never got a transaction from mistake from no one, I had never sent any amount to wrong address, but I know there are some malwares affecting the address where the bitcoin will be sent soo becarful and always confirm.

I bet on a eSports game and lost one day. I think it was on sportsbet.io, or some other sportsbet site that gives out jackpots. I was entered for the monthly jackpot, and I won! I won 0.25, which was instantly sent to my bitcoin address. So one morning I woke up, and I just had 0.25, just sitting there! Amazing!

looking for a signature campaign, dm me for that

Hmmm.  Actually this just happened to me this weekend.  I opened my poker account wallet and found 10 dollars worth of bitcoin in there.  I knew it wasn't mine so I contacted support to let them know that I had received money in my account and I don't know where it came from....All they said was, "if it's in your account, then it's there for a reason."  So, I spent it.  I think that it's important to try to figure out where somebody might have made a mistake by sending their money to the wrong address....I mean, it would suck if WE sent our money to the wrong address, right?
Wow that is very nice of you, I would have gambled them up Tongue . Jokes apart, I have never been so lucky, though yes I once got lucky rain from a member on bitdice or primedice ( i do not remember ) worth some 3-4$ , but that was not accidental actually.

I guess i am not really lucky because i have never experience that. however, if that happens to me i will probably return the money to the sender if i had the chance. but if its really meant for me i will be grateful.

Not personally. If I did then it would go straight back. It might be someone's abortion fund for all I know. By the sounds of it it happens when people have addresses stored and send to one from a previous transaction.

It never happened to me so far and I would also send it back, but if I knew was some abortion fund I would definitely not send it back, no one has the right to kill a life no matter you have no possibility to keep it. Thats the worse a human being can do , kill his own creature. Think before you act and this situation will never happen, abortion happens because of alcohol ,drugs and because of alcohol and drugs are so diffused right now at least in my country Italy a lot of bastards are being born from a one night stand.

Lol yeah I think it's impossible to get bitcoin inadvertently from other people because bitcoin address is typed incorrectly. I thought like that when I receive bitcoin that I didn't know. but after I thought it was impossible and it was from my referral earnings Lol

Yes, I was once like. Someone accidentally sent me 0.002 BTC. It has pleased me, of course. However, for me it is a disadvantage if you send the transaction to the wrong person, the transaction can no longer be canceled.

Yeah. I believe that it is really impossible.
People who say they receive little amounts probably just caused by confusion or an error from their third-party wallet provider.

Unfortunately, that has never happened to me. The chances that someone enters exactly my wallet address and sends BTC accidentaly or randomly are equal to possibility that I win million dollars on lottery. So, none. Although I would like this happen.
