My newest calculations:
Days mining:   16
BURST per day:   24.14
USD per day:   0.86
ROI:   1.14%
100% ROI in [years]:   3.84

yeah, i have 28TB and am averaging around 50 Burst a day...time to pack it in.
I have been talking to 3 miners just in the last week, who are all building 1PB rigs (1000TB). 2 of them have just started, and 1 is 75% complete.
By the time they are all up to speed i dont think there is any point carrying on with burst unless you have at least 100TB and have basically got it for free.
Back to storj i think.
I was also looking at SIA, but they have 90% of there current available space is unallocated, so i think that is not worth it either.

You get merit points when someone likes your post enough to give you some. And for every 2 merit points you receive, you can send 1 merit point to someone else!

Moving between sia/storj to/from burst is not easy. A good gpu&ssd would speed things a lot but you'll still lose money while your gpu is busy with plotting.

I would rather mine burst even if its not profitable. If this goes as i predicted, burst will get pumped hard in the future. Because when a coin gets too crowded by miners it just makes more sense to buy it rather than mining it. I'll take that gamble and keep mining burst. The decision has been made when i began this adventure. It wasn't storj or sia i liked. (btw as far as i know HDD mining is not even available for sia. They mine with GPU's. I don't know the details but I don't think having a lot of HDD's would help.) It was burst. I prefer to collect my profits weekly (or daily, depends on the plot size) rather than collecting them monthly like storj offers. If I ever start to get my mining rewards longer than monthly basis, only then i may move to storj.

Hey fellow BURST holders.

Was just going to let you know we're doing a BURST giveaway here today, should be a fun way to get the community together.  Should also be doing some ETH giveaways too.

And remember...HODL that BURST!!  Smiley

If you look at how much hard drive space is committed to mining and how large the estimated size of the network is, you would see that Burst is very undervalued today. That is not even including all the work done in the code.

At these prices it is more than a bargain, it is a steal.

Anyhow, the PoCC made an announcement regarding the misinformation about the Dymaxion's activation.

Well, at burst.btfg.space pool, where i'm mining, i keep a 6 month stat about real earnings per terabyte, and in last two months we are around 2 burst per tera, so 50 burst a day is correct, for 28Tb. i'm at 26Tb. and i have more or less the same results.

I am doing 50burst/day since the 14th Feb with my 22tb. I guess I am on a lucky strike. Before the 14th Feb. the other payment took 3 days. I collected only 7 mining rewards till now. I'll get the 8th one today probably.

so what am i on a bad pool?
i got solo mining 2 weeks ago, but for 1 week only as my main hard drive give up (dead pcb), i start pool mining boot on a temporary hard drive till i fix that one
and funny think when i on pool i found block more often than average (last 10 days 3 block found (when should be average less than 2 block a month)
but did not get much for the 3 block from pool  Angry  105+219 +155  and the day after block found i always get low like 20-23 burst  Huh

going back to solo soon, wallet is sync, it s more fun i think

and the last days i getting 155+23+44+44   Angry    so 44 a day? for 50tera  pool not fair or what lol

I don't know that pool, but what i can say is that if you want a good result on stats for average earning, you have to calculate a minimum of a whole month, because variance, lucky, and floating difficulty, can only be flatened with a big period of data, one week is not enough to have good data to calculate an average.

Its very undervalued considering all the work done by the PoCC. Check how high mining plots are in all of Burst's history.

Estimated Network Size

If you check the price and the mining difficulty today, it would be clear to you that they are mining at a monthly loss.

So if you were to ask yourself, is it cheaper to mine or to buy, the answer would evidently point to buy.

How to compare this coin with storj, maidsafe and ipfs? Will this burst follow ipfs' hype in the future? I am thinking about this, and try to invest some more burst in cheaper price.

Can someone help me with wallet for linux? I installed version 1.3.6cg to Lubuntu 17.10 and started run.sh. When I enter the wallet in browser I  always see "Downloading blockchain" and several days passed. How can I see the progress and know if it is not stuck?

Hi, i'm no expert, but i'd make sure you have the latest java 64 bit installed and working. Thats where mine usually fails.
