Many people who were waiting for bitcoin price to skyrocket and they will gain short term profits are disappointing. I think maybe the price can go below 400$ as the halving hype is over.

Indeed, how come that the price will go down while the the reward in mining is halve. when its not profitable anymore, who will mine? Transaction will become slow or the only remedy is to increased the transaction fees. With this happening, bitcoin will become more expensive  IMHO.

This is a ridiculous statement. $350 looked impossible before, when Bitcoin was much higher, and not only did $350 get met, Bitcoin dropped a lot lower than that too. Surely everyone caught up in he mania of Bitcoin when it was above $1200 thought it could never get so low again, and then it did, and very quickly. Statements like "it will never be 350 again" or "it's not possible" ignore the risk that it's not only possible, but likely for a speculative instrument that has such sharp volatility. In the last year and a half, Bitcoin was below 350 a lot longer than its been above it since then.

It will take a bit of time for things to shake out with the new block rewards before we know what impact it will have on mining. In theory, the drop in rewards should make mining unprofitable for a large chunk of old miners, and should drive them out of the market. Difficulty will fall in response and a new equilibrium reached. In theory. it'll be interesting to see if this does indeed happen.

I expect also some drop in BTC price but not that much. I believe mining electricity cost per BTC is about 350-450 dollars. Also, since the daily BTC production halved , the miners' sell pressure is also decreased.

I don’t think so. Even if bitcoin ever reach at that price, it’s not going to happen at least next few months. Especially after halving, large number of miners will pop out of mining due to less or no returns of investments. Bitcoin will either fluctuate between $600 to $700 or it will be above $700 mark assuming period of next 6 months. Halving slow downed mining thus it will directly reflect on the price of available coins in circulation and this fluctuation will either be equal to neutral or positive in short term.

550 dollar is optimistic. I believe new support lies somewhere near 430 - 460 so we can still lose quite a lot on our current price.
But my guess is we will see it go down to max. 500.

That's not how mining works at all. Bitcoin's supply increases at a constant rate (minus halvings) regardless of how many miners there are. If there are 100 miners or 1000 miners, the number of coins produced is the same.

I am at the opposite side. My feeling is that it will slowly go to sub $600 for a while and stay there. But of course in time it will go up again and hopefully rise above $1000. People who expected the price to double after the halving don't understand how markets work, and people who expected it to rise before may very well have been right. The price doubled between last August and the halving. Whether that is directly attributable to the halving is debatable, but I'd guess it is. If it falls to $350, I don't see any use of owning bitcoins then as I have purchased almost 70% of my coins at $700 and $650. It would be almost $300 loss which wouldn't be a small decline to accept. However, I don't see it coming as it has increased during halving which was a natural process that led to the increase.

Maybe you are not wrong, Ethereum recently is getting people's attention and people are investing there which is affecting the bitcoin market, we can see today the decline and I'm afraid that very soon the price of bitcoin will crash.

This is one of the least intelligent opinions I've read in this thread. First, $350 is likely again because Bitcoin is extremely volatile. Second, $350 doesn't mean it's a dead coin. Yeah holding bitcoins till the end of year is good because price will increase by the end of year but make sure one thing price will not reach 1000$  at the end of this year. Yeah holding bitcoins till the end of year is good because price will increase by the end of year but make sure one thing price will not reach 1000$  at the end of this year. Most of the people think that price will in between 750$ to 850$ not more then that so hold your coins and buy some more coins if you want to get some profit.

We may see 4 digits price in the end of the year or in the beginning of next year, so it would be really good hold our coins till that point without experimenting with it.

Dont be too comfortable with the price of Bitcoin as it may drop to as low as $350 if theres a reason like another huge or known exchange site suddenly becomes unaccessible or hackec. If you remember Bitfinex security was breached last June which causes a big drop of up to $130 USD in just 4 days it migh happen again to another site.

Half of the august has been passed and the price is around $580, so Thanks God the price of bitcoin did not fall to $350 , I think now it is not expected that the price of bitcoin will every drop to that lower value.

I would disagree with you,  it wont reach that low bracket price as op mentioned because even  if we suffer from drastically drop price previously because of some matters but  as you see at the price of bitcoin as of now it gradually increasing as of now it may drop but a little amount only for sure it wouldnt reach $350.

this recent drop of bitcoin price was also an accident. it happened because of the bitfinex hacks. other wise bitcoin was stable at 680$..

End of the month of august is fast approaching and we saw the  bitcoins price is only  $570 mark  and  its impossible to go lower  as speculated  price of the OP mentioned in the thread. Don't think the price will go down to below $550 at this point. Yes, demand is quite low, but I think people will not sell the price down too much. Otherwise they would be hurting themselves.

$350 is  impossible to happen  even  bitcoins price is  unstable. Previously the price if bitcoin decreases because of some circumstances. Maybe theres a possibility to reach that amount if  theres a big problem into bitcoin. No one knows what would be the future and what would be the problems it would encounter in upcoming years.
