Well, I thought I would jump into Avalon Batch three... but my jaw hit the floor when I saw the price. What the bloody hell?

Going all in on BFL seems like a better idea than this shit. $5k for a box that cost initally $1299. Someone decided they don't want customers.

It all turned into greed. Once someone gets their tip wet with a little money it changes them into someone else. I read previously that the Avalon creator did this project to protect the Bitcoin network/community, but seeing a %400 increase in price for a unit that really only cost $1500 or so is not protecting the Bitcoin network/community but just being flat out greedy. It is very easy to see that.

Wow man, guess it must just be greed.  It couldn't be anything else like:

Research & Development Capital
Reward Profit
Principles
Market Pricing
Exchange Risk Hedging

If you are going to think so simple, then you will just get simple answers.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Dump our btc just to see what some dude will do with his price ? That will be like shooting yourself in the foot for fun. Smiley

Why would anyone buy avalon at 88btc if by the time it gets to you you could have traded 88btc on exchange several times and made 88btc every 2-4 weeks without avalon?

Can you double your money every few weeks by trading?

If you had a crystal ball you could double your money every couple days.

the problem with bitcoin right now is it's volatility. It could double in value, or it could halve. it could be worth a fortune, or nothing. It's not slow swings either. it goes way up, or way down very fast.

I'm pretty sure a hindcast with perfect prediction and zero market disturbance would make very good return.  I just thought you had said you were actually getting that sort of return.

I try to be respectful and informed.

Funny thing is, people were pulling out that exact chart when we had our first "bubble" up to $30 (or whatever it was) and subsequent crash back to $3 (or whatever it was).

And in 12 months time, when we've spiked to $1000, people will be saying it again.

Beware the weak hands!

thats the other problem with btc, anyone with enough fiat right now can crash the market, or skyrocket it. there's no depth.

Just because a market recovers after a crash doesn't mean there wasn't a bubble.  Real estate bubbles happen with monotonous regularity but property doesn't ever drop in value to zero and stay there.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

this is why its called a bubble not a crash. bubble get big and pop. they correct back to where they should be. crashes go down and stay down for a long time.

Weird, I was just able to get into the Avalon store, and able to select my product (w/ or w/o power supply, and w/3 or 4 modules), but when I clicked "add to cart", I got bounced back to the spinning diamond, and can't get back to the product page now. It was like they were just open for a minute, but closed up again.
