if ETH will not gain up to a minimum of 50% raise in value, lot of miners could join ETC mining community
I'm fingercrossed to that scenario  Cool Wink
It's a closely realistic scenario, because the mining rewards for ETH miners dropped dramatically recent months, and will keep dropping deeper.
Then, it is clear that more and more ETH miners have switched their rigs to mine other coins, including ETC, and they might continue switching their rigs to ETC.
However, I have a doubt that will the scenario become a good one for ETC, both ETC's network and price?
More miners, total hashrates will rise, then difficulty will rocket, but how about the price of ETC?

any news concerning the 51% attack ?

The attacker is giving ETC back on Gate.io and another exchange which I don't recall. At the end it ended well at least since the attacker wasn't malicious

There are nearly 10% of ETH miners, stupid ones, mined on the wrong chain with Constantinople upgrade.
They have not paid attention on the warning of ETH team that the upgrade delayed and kept mining on the wrong chain of ETH network.

SO, they're losing money basically (electricity) if that's true, are you sure? Because ETH's devs didn't release the code...btw this is the Ethereum CLASSIC thread Smiley

Hi guys, my pools include an extra rewards for who found the block, this reward is "Finder Reward"

The scheme is:

Block Reward = BR
Pool_Fee = 1% x BR
Pool Reward = (BR - Pool_Fee) x (1 - Finder_Reward)
Finder Reward = ((BR - Pool_Fee) x Finder_Reward
Miner Reward = Pool Reward x Round Percentage

For example if Finder Reward = 20% , Pool Fee = 1% , Block Reward = 4, and miner has 3.5% of the round

Pool fee = 4 x 1% = 0.04
Miner_not_finder = (4 - 0.04) x (100% - 20%) x 3.5% =  0.11088
Miner_who_found_the_block =  (4 - 0.04) x (100% - 20%) x 3.5%  + (4 - 0.04) x 20%=  0.90288

please check this on:

https://etc.crazypool.org

System Reward = PPLNS
Finder Reward = 20%
Pool Fee = 1%

Block Reward = 4 ETC + TX (transaction fee) + uncle inclusion reward = Complete Block Reward
Uncle Reward = 0.125 ETC

Happy Mining !!!

The Magic of ETC is that there is no leader, there is no one in charge. There's just lots of really passionate amazing people, much like Bitcoin.

You cant point to a person who's deciding where the platform is going to go, it's not possible.

Ironic, no significant developments on ETC in the last 2 years.. good luck
Ok thank you very much, don't worry about it ETC is run by the community of ethereum whom believe the code is law, decentralize, immutable and unstopable.

Yet and nothing has been done, and yes, Mantis is nothing, its just a client lmao

The building continues - unlike other coins - there are actual projects and transactions on ETC. Don't listen to the FUD - ETC is going to be a big player moving forward. If you are building a DApp today, it makes the most sense to build it on ETC.

Ethereum Classic will be there.
I don't think ETC will disappear for any reason.

I don't have any feeling that ETC will disappear but ETC has a very strong development team, which will help to recover their coding which will furnish new secure code which it will return back to normal price but it will take some time.

The original developer has returned to help build a more secure spec client and help guide development after a hostile takeover of the original ethereumproject github group.

Decentralized censorship-free development is happening here: https://github.com/openether

And the new subreddit for now is https://reddit.com/r/openether because the ethereumclassic subreddit has been hijacked by people who overtly censor all discussion to try to control ETC. Yet they have no actual developers with any talent.

There are many great examples of this posted in r/openether.

Tomaz breaks down various methods to improve security against such attacks.
"Making 51% Attacks Harder" - New BlogPost by ETC Contributor Tomaz Kariz phyrooo

https://medium.com/@gtrphyro/making-51-attacks-harder-a192be3be1c1
It is good progress of ethereum classic ETC to protect ethereum classic ETC from 51% attack
So the community of ethereum classic must read it to getting more knowledge about the ethereum classic, especially about the 51% attack on ETC blockchain.

**VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM ORIGINAL ETC CREATOR WHATISGRAVITY REGARDING STATE OF THE PROJECT**

https://github.com/openether/EthereumClassicGroupRiskAccessment/blob/master/README.md

EthereumClassicGroupRiskAccessment

http://ethereumclassic.org gets a D security rating for security headers, just going to the site gives your data to everyone from facebook, twitter, reddit, random Netherlands advertisers.

They have NO RESPECT for you or your privacy, they have no ability to protect that website to ensure the clients are safe meanwhile they bitch about blue accidently leaving bins in a project that they could compile and checksum AND KNOW THERE IS NO MALWARE WITHOUT QUESTION. So either they are too dumb to know that would have been that easy to check, or they are deliberately spreading lies to try to discredit anyone who obviously has more merit, and would rank higher in a meritocracy that they claim to support. There was also a .gitignore file, it was an obvious oversight and we can't even defend ourselves.

This is not even getting into the fact that the site is vulnerable other attacks. THE SOURCE OF OUR WALLETS FOR THE PUBLIC IS VASTLY INSECURE AND THEY ARE DOING NOTHING BUT SHUTTING DOWN DISCUSSION.

They are not just a risk to Ethereum Classic, they are a direct threat. Their project MUST be stopped.

Their explorer has MAJOR security vulnerabilities and when I warned them, I wasn't even spoken to, I was immediately removed from the group. So If anything their is reason to believe they are trying to leverage malware for their benefit if anyone is. That is supposed to be meritocracy? That is offensive to even suggest, you clearly got a little power, and it has went to everyone involved heads and they ALL NEED TO BE REMOVED.

We need to start the discussion of how to shut down that project, shutdown people claiming roles they have no ability to fulfill because its a danger to the entire community and will hurt everyone long as they care more about the little power they got, than the actual state of the project.
