### CWI-POOL - MAINTENANCE

hi all ...

in approx 25mins ( 0730 adelaide australia time - https://www.google.com.au/search?q=what+is+the+current+time+in+adelaide+australia&gws_rd=cr&ei=BLqUWcqdG8Sn8QW-wIeYDQ ) - the CWI-Pool system will be down for some urgent maintenance ...

the entire process should take no more than 7mins total - and the downtime for each pool will be about the same ...

please be patient - as this maintenance is required - and will make the CWI-Pool platform more stable ...

we appreciate your patience in while this happens ...

#crysx

Crys, what was up with the pool not confirming shares for about 3 hours? Just a symptom of the maintenance? (Everything looks good now)

I'm guessing your doing some work on the front end too because my workers went down for the time you said and they are back up and running full speed but the website isn't reporting my works properly???

EDIT: All is good, ignore my impatience.

one of the automatic jobs were locked out - and didnt update ...

part of the maintenance was forcing the jobs through ...

seems to be fine now ... tho it was only the CWI-Pool Signatum that was affected for some reason ...

yup ...

if there is unscheduled work to be done on the CWI-Pool system - it will ...

but not usually as long as 10mins unless we are doing work on the stratum or os itself ...

Reading about things like this makes me want to learn more about mining

this is the 'umbrella' thread ...

ie - the thread that pretty much has the overview of all the projects ...

its far outdated - and because we have had so much work to do in the rest of the projects - we have not updated it as we should have been doing ...

this will change the moment we get a break form the other projects ...

we have acquired another coin - sweepstakecoin ... we have created more pools ... we have created a miner that rivals most on the market today which is a feat in itself - and its only a few weeks old ... we have sorted a few algos that we are considering - and testing for the upgrades to the current coins we have ... plus much more ... all will be updated in good time ...

in the meantime - mining is fun ... if it is anything else to you - then we have only one thing to say - MAKE IT FUN ...

### CWI-POOL SWEEPSTAKECOIN

hi all ...

as a lot of you have seen - a number of projects under ChainWorks Industries (CWI) have started to surface ...

one of the most recent is CWIgm miner application - which is an application that we ( CWI ) have been building for our own private mining with theFARM ... over the coming weeks - there will be a newer beta to test and this will have a number of new features to boot - as well as two extra algos - timetravel10 and jha ...

this brings us to the core reason for this post - the CWI-Pool system ... a number of things have been worked on with the CWI-Pool system as a whole - which include the addition of a few new pools and the recode of the CWI-Stratum to cater for the new coin CWI-Coins have recently acquired - SweepStakeCoin ...

the JHA algo for SweepStakeCoin is an unusual one in that it has a different way of communication with the CWI-Stratum than the other more 'standard' algorithms like X11 sCrypt or QUARK ... as such - the CWI-Stratum had to have some code changes to cater for the way the algo communicates ...

the result of our testing so far is that the recode is functional - and seems to be performing well ... which means that the CWI-Pool SweepStakeCoin will be moved to beta some time this week ...

if miners would like to mine on the pool - and start testing for capacity and performance - please do ... the more the merrier ...

we will keep it in alpha designation for the next few days - until we are satisfied that all is completely well with the pool ...

ANY miner than has the jha algo integrated - should work ... we are working on the integration of the jha algo into CWIgm-0.9.9 also - and the miner will be locked to our CWI-Pool SweepStakeCoin so that further testing of the miner and pool can be maintained ...

Please let us know your experiences with both our CWI-Pool SweepStakeCoin and CWigm Miner in the respective threads ...

http://pool.chainworksindustries.com/sweep/ - ports 2300 / 6300 for lodiff / hidiff mining ...

### CWI-POOL SWEEPSTAKECOIN

hi all ...

an issue has been detected with the CWI-Pool SweepStakeCoin - and as a precautionary measure - mining has been stopped for the time being ...

please remove ALL your coins from the pool - as there may be a full reset being done within the next day if the issue cannot be resolved before then ...

we will keep the pool in alpha designation and will continue to test before a full reset is committed ... this means that ALL mining will stop ( including our own ) on the CWI-Pool SweepStakeCoin and we will continue to work on the issue at hand ...

this is what testing is all about - and you are ALL helping a huge amount with this ...

NO COINS are lost or locked ... so please wait till all the coins in your account are confirmed - then transfer them out to your external wallets ...

ANY coins left in the wallet that is not transferred WILL be lost if a full reset of the pool and db is done ( as the old wallet is destroyed ) ... so please move ALL coins you have to another wallet as soon as possible ...

tanx ...

no worries ...

it will be up again - but we need to iron out a few issues first ...

this testing is imperative for the stability of the pool long term ...

working on it now - it seems like it will require a reset - which means ALL coins need to be removed ...

hi, what do you mean by "reset" ? to me thats a vitalik term, meaning you will reset the errors exploited in the chain. but YOU dont control the sweep chain (or maybe you do now) so how would that work? i was thinking the crazy params would cause issues, has that come true?
Or do you mean there was a fork, and THEPOOL was on wrong one? im confused... "reset" ? cause ya blockchain=no coins are ever lost really...
im loyal to the pools as always, just wondering what your meant.
thx! Smiley

as ive stated ... a reset for the pool system ( wallet ) - and database ( db ) ...

the process is simple - but destructive ... the issue we are suffering is a rare issue we have been encumbered with when the mpos system recognizes a 'potential' double spend ... its NOT a double spend - its the db allocating two areas of the rows / columns to ONE piece of data ... which mpos sees as TWO payments - therefore a 'possible' double spend ...

mpos has had an issue with this a LONG time ago - and has supposedly fixed this ... this is one of the rare times its reared its ugly head - and there is no valid 'fix' for this except to 'delete and restart the db as well as the wallet' ...

so when these two areas of the pool are 'reset' - ie started from scratch again - ALL data contained in the db is reset to zero - and the wallet is a new wallet created with different address which mpos requires to function ... thats what i mean by reset ...

the current wallet and stratum are both running as they should be ... but when the database becomes corrupt with this sort of error - the only 'fix' known so far ( and no one else has come forward with ANY other fix for this issue ) is to delete the db and wallet - and start over ... this will 'reset' the counter / blocks / setup for the pool and wallet as well ... so its like starting a new pool afresh ...

thats a reset ...

and its also the LAST resort for any pool operator - as it means we have to go through this process of removing coins / putting users through this process just to restart ... if there was an easier way - we would do it ... there isnt ... we HAVE to get you to manually move your coins off this wallet - before its deleted ...

the 'reset' will ONLY occur IF we cannot find another resolve ...

thats why we say your coins are 'safe' because the wallet itself is not corrupt - and is still functional ... and as far as we can see - the chain is fast and solid ...

Thanks for the clear update

no worries ...

we have been working on a fix for this issue so we DONT have to reset ...

there looks like a way to do it - without blowing away the database and wallet ...

fingers crossed ... and we have full backups of everything - 'just in case' ...

### CWI-POOL SWEEPSTAKECOIN

hi all ...

we have been working as best as we can to on the CWI-Pool SweepStakeCoin - and our work has come with some poitive results ...

it seems to have brought the pool / database back - without the requirement of s full 'reset' of the db and wallet ...

we have brought the pool back online - but are keeping it in alpha for the time being - until we can be sure that it is stable ...

so please resume the mining when you can - as its open to public use again with NO loss of coins in the corruption ... we appreciate your patience with this ... its great to know that miners and testers alike are helping build this pool and the entire CWI-Pool system into a stable mining platform ... a long way to go - but we are slowly getting there ...

Good news, however my earnings are ridiculous now  Sad
Went to 500 sweep/hour from 2200 yesterday.
Diff is higher but cannot explain a such result IMO.
