I need some help please good people.

I had invested in the ICO and then I downloaded the windows wallet and claimed the ants. Then I lost the password for that wallet (yes I am an idiot  Sad ).

Now after some time I downloaded the new client and made a new wallet and imported WIF address with my passphrase. When I click on it I  get redirected to the blockchain info which shows correctly the amount of antcoins I have. But in my wallet I cannot see them. the assets tab is empty. Have I screwed up?  Huh

Is your wallet synced? As long as you have the private key, you will always be able to access your funds. If you see the right balance on the blockchain and you have imported the right private key, I don't see what could go wrong.

Yes my wallet is synced and I have the address where it says standard account. when I double click it I go to the blockchain and its in chinese ofc but on the left I see my address and below it a number which is correctly my antshares.

But the wallet under assets shows nothing and under transactions shows nothing and if I go to transfer I have nothing to chose from. What is happening I dont understand.

should I claim the coins again from the ico web maybe?? but i did that already

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

is it somewhat like POS

Yes somehow Smiley. It's not PoS as you don't have to keep your wallet running to have them, but it depends on your balance.
Check out https://github.com/AntShares/AntShares/wiki/Whitepaper-1.1#k (Issuance of AntCoins) for the formula of ANC issuance.

or do I need to be making transactions.

You need outgoing transactions only to claim, not to get them.

I've made a few transactions
but no ANC have shown up ...

In AntShares Core, the Windows client, if you never claimed then it's normal to have 0(+unclaimed amount). You can claim using the menu Advanced > AntCoin Claim.

Ok then I guess this is not available for the web wallet as I don't see any option to claim Antcoins.

Im on a Mac, and while the webwallet works and syncs for me, still no stand alone MAC wallet.

Under Development...

to webwallet is syncing so slow. Any way to speed it up?

look at mine, web wallet stop sync and my ANS not showing http://prntscr.com/e3g107

The web wallet is unstable if you have a slow connection, better use the desktop wallet and make sure your in windows 7 and don`t forget to download a net framework from microsoft it is require.

What I would have done, is download AntShares Core again, execute it, let it sync, create a wallet and import the private key, but you already seem to have done that ... Another thing to try is to open the wallet in repair mode, did you try that?

Given the fact that the coins are already on the address of which you hold the private key then I would say all is good, now you just need access ...

It's exactly what I have done. Does it matter that I claimed the coins to another wallet and then made a new one? I definately have the private key to the address with the funds.

Can someone from the official team help? Is this a kind of bug? I'm kind of in panic, I was one of the top 30 investors of the ICO..

The team's on vacation until Feb the 6th. They said to contact davidthepangwaer on Skype for emergencies, if you think this is an emergency you can try that.

The Antshares Team will be celebrating the holiday from now on (1400 Jan 26th Beijing Time) till Feb. 6th Beijing Time. During the holidays, you can contact davidthepangwaer on Skype for emergencies.

Just hold on to your private key, the funds are there, you have the private key, in my opinion it will work out.

Dude, don't panic. The private key is THE ONLY THING YOU NEED to secure.

With regards to the Antshares Windows wallet, you can try "rebuild index", "restore accounts", open wallet in repair mode or open a new wallet and then import private key (WIF).

"Blockchains" - all similar.

Except maybe tangle tech, Maidsafe vaporware or that Pascal thingy.  Grin

Just a matter of your client getting the right data from the network.

So the webwallet has no place to import the private key.  I've tried Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.  so where can you import the private key?  Also, the Ant team has misconfigured their server as you get security warnings for the web wallet for Chrome and Firefox.

The ios wallet creates a db transaction error when you try to create a wallet.  So it doesn't work either.  Who is writing this crap code?

So I have a mac seemingly with no ability to claim my investment.  So do I need to buy a Windows machine?  Does that have a wallet that syncs and where you can import your private key?  This is frustrating.

Web wallet definitely can import private key. It's like the first option when I open it.

CNY price currently sitting on support. If it doesn't go below 0.91cny within 2 days, expect the correction to end and uptrend continues.

I'm still waiting for my web wallet to sync so that I can access my ANS from the ICO, it's taking a long time, several days so far,

Its been 7 months since the ICO and you haven't been able to create a working wallet. Are you serious? Its one of the basic minimal expectations! You have 5 million and you cant create a working wallet..

Of course I have a working wallet with the ANS in it, but it needed re-syncing for some reason.
