Here is the lowest cap masternode network that I know of.

Flaxscript.

https://github.com/thegreatoldone/flaxscript

Here is the Block Explorer:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/flax/

as you can see, it has 7 masternodes and a marketcap of $15,000 USD

15 connections and it still has active pools mining FLAX.

right now there is 5,472,849 FLAX in existence and the network mints about 1000 FLAX per day.

You need 23,000 FLAX for a masternode which is 0.029 BTC, pretty cheap compared to other masternodes.

Funny thing is that if you used 100% of all the coins and converted them into masternodes, you only get about 237 masternodes.

Here is the exchange it trades on:

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=FLAX_BTC#

full disclosure, I own enough FLAX for 1 masternode. bought it just for fun, you never know with altcoins this one might just trade higher.

I scanned the windows wallet. its harmless. The old wallet was giving false positives because of old code and a in wallet miner. That triggered antivirus botnet tests. The latest wallet doesn't give those virus warnings.

Masternode is not the right way to evolve. Don't be baited by this concept. It works for not but it is nothing more that potential vulnerability waiting to go boom.
Crooks could purchase enough masternodes to influence voting or even deanonymize the private send feature.
Dash will grow bigger and Russia, China or USA purchase enough masternodes to control whole network. It is a technical possibility.

Flaxscript just popped 297%. Now a masternode cost 0.15 BTC instead of 0.02.

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange?market=FLAX_BTC

I am holding my masternode until 10k sat this could get interesting.

I don't mind the master node idea, as it confers speed advantages, and I don't see why it is different to investing in mining power, except with out the arms race and power costs.

I think the issue is choosing the right boundary condition (sort of like navier stokes if you catch my drift) eg amount to hold to be a MN and the payout rate. This could effect he centralization, and the collapse of success of the coin.

I imagine at some point if the coin becomes two expensive then the price to run a MN would be better set at less coins. Not that this would stop centralization to some extent in the first instance.

If this go wrong eg massive price drop, you may see a massive liquidation of nodes as a sort of positive feed back for more recent entrant that have to cover losses or lock in profits. This will then create the positive feed back conditions to perhaps an faster spiral down.

This only my intuitive analysis though

Then we are back to a good distro.

Perhaps this is where a coin like nem comes in had a pretty good distro inmho.

Blocknet symbol Block also has nodes. Blocknet launches it's exchange in less then four weeks, and offers  trade fees to node operators.

Here is an article on masternode-https://www.investitin.com/masternode/. Can you have a look at it and let me know if it can be improved?

It would be great if you could post the current price to buy one masternode of each coin in your Database.
Then, people don't need to look up the price for each coin one after another on coinmarketcap and multiply it with the coins needed for a MN.

Someone should launch an income fund for the purposes of holding a portfolio
of masternodes on various coins/networks ..
Distribute the earned income to stakeholders on a monthly basis ..
The "fund" coin would be priced at NAV of the fund's masternode holdings ..
It would be a nice clean way for people to get diversified exposure to the income side
of crypto .. The same idea could be extended to a portfolio of POS coins ..
or combine the two in one fund  ..

Call it Yield Coin [YLD] or some such ..

Triff ..

looking for a cheap masternode atm?
Crave which is found at www.cryptopia.co.nz requires only 500 crave to run a single masternode.

*CRAVE is a cutting edge Proof of Stake cryptocurrency, with a block reward of 1 crave, the minimum stake age is 8 hours, and there are currently about 1.2 million coins created. Crave currently has 150 masternodes online, and a network weight of 140,000 for staking.*

The wallet has just been updated. Now to run multiple nodes you will have to run multiple wallets, this is not to hard to setup, but you wont have the issues of nodes expiring! like with other coins.
info on coin is found at;
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/crave/
We also have a slack https://cravecommunity.slack.com/join/shared_invite/MTczMTI3MTU2MzcyLTE0OTI4NzQ1ODEtODI1ZDNkYzM4ZQ and the new wallet version is 2.0.3.5 which can be found at the Crave website.
website:*www.craveproject.com* also with the masternode guides and help form the community setting up masternodes are made easy! :slightly_smiling_face:

For you are wondering what happened to the crave project a while ago this site can answer some questions: http://cryptoroundtable.com/calling-all-cravers-cravecoin-has-been-reborn/
our Slack is also active so please feel free to join.
Remember the earlier you get crave the cheaper!

Hello I've got a few beginner questions:

1. What do you mean by nodes expiring? How do you prevent that from happening?
2. If the Masternode yields about 2-3 CRAVE a day and it takes 500 to start one, does that equate to around 146-219% yield on CRAVE a year? This would be sort of like mining POS if it had that sort of yield right?

Thanks!
