If when you say international currency, you mean replacing dollar, then the answer is that it's going to be a long time.
But I believe that much of the road has already been traveled...

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

But the topic is vague because it's not giving a detailed about the international currency if that refers to digital payment I think that is possible but for replacing the dollar I think that is just like a miracle because the paper money still become the main stand for the value of digital currency.

I guess Op question would look better presented like this:

When bitcoin will be adopted and used as international legal tender on par with FIAT currencies as US Dollar or Euro?

And the answer is: probably never. There will be always a strong economic lobby behind scummy FIATS.
They will naturally won't allow bitcoin - or any other currency not controlled by politicians and top tiers economist to be successful.

As people are awarding of bitcoin & its potential. When we can see bitcoin as international currency? Huh
International currency like dollar? Lol this is to ambitious, it will never happen, government will never use bitcoin as exchange their currency, because bitcoin is not stable. Bitcoin is only for digital currency  though there are many physical stores accepting bitcoin as payment but and expect too much to it, btc is for the internet only

Indeed, however several governments have been looking into it for a while and more are starting to, I doubt we will see that happening anytime soon but if it happens it'll take several years for it to be uniformly implemented.

What do you mean by "international currency"?
Bitcoin is international already. It is available from the internet therefore, it is international. Right?
As long as you have a connection to the internet and I think all parts of the world has internet connection except for some isolated islands.

As others have said, bitcoin is an international currency already. It has no national boundaries. Anyone can use it to transact business with anyone in the world. The question is when will we see mass adoption of bitcoin. When will we see it being widely accepted and used everywhere. I think we are a good number a years away from significant mass adoption yet.

agree with 2 previous post mate it is an international currency already the only boundaries are those place that don't have internet connection or place that have limitation to access internet site, i think what you want to say is like a credit card form of access that you can use it whenever you wanted it like shopping that you needed to code your access then it will be ok, might be needed to wait for some quite some more time mate but i think it is not too soon,.

Bitcoin is a direct competitor to the ach/eft system. Looking at the history of ach/eft and its spread to having a connected POS in every business worldwide, I'd say about 65 years. That's how long it took before. That means we only have another 59 years or so to wait. Yippee!

Bitcoin is not an international currency yet, its usage is too limited and many people are still not aware about, it can be international currency only when it will be widely used and accepted.

That is way too long. I would be dead by that moment. Is there any way it could make haste for me to see it with my blurred sight maybe in 20 or 30 years.

You can pay with bitcoin in a lot of online shops and some offline shops. Both numbers are growing. And I think that is the only thing that matters.
If you mean by international currency that bitcoin will be something like a fiat, then I hope it will never become one.
The fiats all have the centrlized system with national banks and bitcoin wants to be exactly the opposite of that.
If you mean that it can be traded against every fiat without converting it first against one of te major ones (like dollar or euro), well that day is near, might even be here.
I don't know if there is a direct exchange possibility for bitcoins against every possible fiat in the world yet.

Ok, we'll speed it up just for you. I can make it 27 years from now but that's the best I can do. .

Maybe our definitions of international are different but bitcoin can be used in any part of the world, is not tied to any government or central-bank and is very easy to transport large quantities of it across borders.

To me that makes it international.
