to me bitcoins is already an international currency, as we can see in the world of bitcoin people are engage here from all over the world. hope that as the time passes bitcoin will become more and more popular in the world. people are now using it both for investment and well as for trading purposes, some people are using it for shopping in their markets, as some shopkeepers are accepting bitcoin for shopping in their shops.

As people are awarding of bitcoin & its potential.When we can see bitcoin as international currency?  it is going to be an international currency really soon, in my opinion more and more companies will be accepting it a few years later |

As people are awarding of bitcoin & its potential.When we can see bitcoin as international currency? i dont know what do you mean by international currency for bitcoin is the only international currency used by everyone irrespective of their nationality.I think you mean when bitcoin will become currency for international trade,I dont think it will ever be used by governments to trade |

Bitcoin is International curiency already He probably means that it should be accepted anywhere in the world physically but not just in internet or as a digital currency, because there are already some countries where bitcoin is used in a large extent in physical or offline stores but that is not the case everywhere, so the day that will happen will be the day bitcoin will become an international currency used in every corner of the world. |

Bitcoin is indeed an international currency. It has almost every characteristics what an international currency should have. Only thing is that, it is not regulated by anyone.
Due to this reason only, the penetration of bitcoin is not like fiat. Also the technology is not understandable by everyone. Only the tech savy people can understand it.

Believe it or not, bitcoin is international currency from beginning. I don't see that bitcoins can belong to any country more then to others. I'm not so long into bitcoins, but as I see here there is people from all over the world. That is international, without any borders.
Bitcoins are used in all world, and whrn right time come people will be able to buy almost everything with bitcoins without exchange coins first and lose money on transaction fees.
It's my opinion, and I think I'm right because bitcoin doesn't have state of origin. Bitcoin belongs to all of us.
Yes, you have your point, bitcoin has already been used internationally but I think the OP’s idea was to have bitcoin accepted officially in every nations, every countries and widely used by every markets, every shops just like some popular payment processors. |

I think an international currency is that currency which is acceptable in every country of the world and every country for their international business accept it, and as now we are seeing that bitcoin for online business is easily acceptable for international transactions so we can say that bitcoin in online world is an international currency, and it is still in the process to develop more and it is hope that in the coming future it will also be accepted in every institute of the world so we will see bitcoin as an international currency. |

Indeed bitcoin is already in use in some countries (International), but use the bitcoin does not yet have a definite law or legal warranties are good in using it. And has not been officially accepted bitcoin in terms of currency and transactions, so the bitcoin can be categorized something illegal. But it's not a barrier to foster a bitcoin get better again, because I'm sure in the future will be accepted by all of the bitcoin among ocessors. |

Based on the list of country in the local thread of the forum, there are asian,european and american already use so that means the transaction of bitcoin is already big now. |

Since day 1, Bitcoin has been an international currency. You can use Bitcoin whenever and wherever you want, you just need to have an Internet connection and a Bitcoin wallet. The only problem as of today is that you can't actually use Bitcoin as a substitute for fiat when having a transaction in basic stuffs like buying a banana, or anything basic in the market. You would have to convert your Bitcoin into fiat first in order to have an offline transaction like that.

I don't think that Bitcoin will ever become a national currency, much less an international one. Unless someone establish a libertarian nation which is recognized by a majority of the UN member nations, Bitcoin may never become a national currency. And it is almost impossible to become an international currency, like the USD or the EUR, as only the libertarian-leaning public are favorable to the usage of Bitcoin.
